'Milked and dumped': Meghan Markle took Beckhams 'for a ride'

- Royal author Tom Bower has slammed Meghan Markle for taking David and Victoria Beckham "for a ride" after the couple were reportedly snubbed by the Sussexes at the 2018 Invictus Games in Sydney.
"She took them for a ride. She lived in their house. She got free clothes. She did everything she could to milk them and then dump them," Mr Bower told GB News host Dan Wootton.
Mr Bower also said the Duchess of Sussex was worried the Beckham's would "overshadow" her.
"Harry invited the Beckhams to come to Sydney for the Invictus Games … He gets there and Harry doesn't want to see him … I think the reason was that Meghan was deeply worried that she would be overshadowed by the Beckhams."

The Beckhams went through the "always famous" phase, they went through the "media chasing us" phase and the cutesy-wutesy "we've got kids phase"... and at the end of it all have come out being far more stable and classy than most. Harry and Megan could learn a lot from them, including that you don't prattle and indulge the media but get on with life instead of the business of "being famous". I know who I would rather have over for dinner... even though I don't fancy football and are "fashion shy"...

Harry used Beckham too. His "invite" to Australia was a power play for his brand but who would notice- THAT is why Harry didn't meet him at the airport or at all. Harry knew (or more likely Meghan told him) that if he snubbed Beckham, then Beckham would tell the story himself putting Ballgag and Nutmeg right back in the news.

Although now a days she gets labled a grifter and a bully and made 'markle' into a verb and not just a noun, to those who knew her, the term most often applied back then was 'user'. If you had something Meghan wanted, whether it was a parent that had clout, a chance you could win her votes in a school election, or convince others she should have a major role in a school drama, if you would be believed if you supported a lie she was telling, had more spending money than she did, had patents with a cabin cruiser or a vacation home, or were known to invite a friend of yours along on holiday trips, she was your best friend from the minute she determined she could get what she wanted from you but as soon as she got what she wanted she lost no sleep at kicking you to the curb and moving on to her next target. This later became known as "being Markled" and it was something she perfected by the time she pulled many strings to be the spokes person for the class whose project was to write a letter to Procter and Gamble to complain about the use of the term women, instead of people, who used their dish detergent. It was a learning project not about anything really political, but was all about how to write a persuasive business letter, and all class members contributed to it. As luck would have it for the class P&G's PR team had already reached thst conclusion several months before that and had remade the adverisement changing 'women' to 'people' and it shiwed on air not long after the class sent off the letter. This was a period of time where local TV news media was often in the market for feel good stories and when the fancy private school decided to have their class take credit for changing P&G's advertising, the media asked that one student be choosen to be interviewed about what the class had done, and Meghan pulled out all the stops from bullying to coerction to threats and promises, to make sure "Meghan the Star" got that role. The fact that she "markled" her whole class by taking complete credit for the idea, the letter contents, and saying nothing about anyone elses involvement or the real purpose of the exercise and then dropping the bombshell that included having sent it to Hillary Clinton and supposedly having gotten a response, although Meghan never has shown that response, nor is their any record of that correspondence in the archives of the First Lady, lets you know just how true her interview statements were.

My sister was in London during the period Diana and Charles first began to hook up…. She said Diana & her girlfriends were known around the swinging pubs and clubs. They had been named ‘The Sloane Rangers’, with a reputation of hard playing the field, drinking and partying.
My sister was also scathing about media coverage that implied or crafted narratives that Diana was an innocent naive young thing who was swept up by courtiers in an arranged marriage situation. The opposite seems the truth, Charles had lost the love of his life because of the courtiers /court influence, he had found no one that could replace her, and he more or less got seduced by Diana, and was swept up by her beauty and charm, and out of one of her own sister’s who had just begun dating Charles. She snagged herself a Prince, and heir to the British throne. Sadly, the rest is history…. The world lost a beautiful, if slightly flawed, princess 👸 who had grown into the worlds most loved, admired, adored, and hardworking so far as her charity and special cause initiatives (mothers, ballet, AIDS, land mines, orphans). She genuinely cared about what causes she supported. Unfortunately she got some poor advice and together with her own personality characteristics, her desperate need to win her husband’s unrequited love, and Charles’ unfortunate reconnection with Camilla, which appeared to start out as just social interaction but grew into more as Diana became more and more consumed with jealousy and her insecurities. A ship-sinking combination as it turned out. It was some consolation that she eventually found a real soulmate and deep mutual love and affection with Dodi Al Fayed. Tragic that they both lost their lives in a car accident that was totally avoidable …. If they paid more attention to their own safety needs and situation rather than handing it off to others. They should both have used their seat belts, they should both have paid attention to the quality of the people providing their security and the state of the driver responsible for their transportation.
A tragic day for Diana’s family, friends, and fans. Tragic for the Al Fayed family and friends especially, because the lost of his life was overshadowed by the outpouring over Diana’s demise. Dodi’s family loss was magnified by the silence over his passing.
The pain of that period is etched in so many people’s hearts and minds, Harry, being so young, would and could never really appreciate the magnitude of what followers and admirers of Diana witnessed and felt.
Charles, despite having divorced Diana, still care deeply about her, which was evident in his actions and demeanour. For Harry and Meghan to be turning this painful past into a soap opera for their financial benefit is beyond despicable & unconscionable.
I wouldn’t wish for them or anyone to suffer similar pain and heartbreak that was felt during that time.

Well said. Not sure about Dodi being the love of her life. I think the Indian doctor was. Dodi was also due to get married a couple of weeks after he died so Diana wasn’t the innocent. Their deaths and that of the driver were tragic. She was well intentioned and genuine about the causes she supported.
Allegedly she had also taken Charles from her older sister according to reports, but who knows for sure. It was all round sad and a pity Charles didn’t marry the love of his life, Camilla in the first place but was prevented from doing so because she was Catholic, I believe and Charles sent overseas. Yet MM, an American divorcee was welcomed with open arms. Historically it would never have happened yet she doesn’t appreciate just how lucky she was and blew it.
