This collection of gardening websites is just wonderful. I am re-doing my backyard and trying to select plants that will survive. Thanks so much.

Looks like I’m late to the party; however, this is tremendously valuable. Thanks for all the work compiling these resources!

I’m a new gardener so I don’t have any catalogs… but I’m scouring the internet for local info. Found you yesterday and I’m so glad I did!

I had seen your garden center when I lived in Frisco, but hadn't ever visited... it's funny now I'm gonna living 30 minutes away... lol

Awesome collection of resources you even have one or two I hadn’t discovered yet. For Texas A&M they also have an online vegetable variety selector tool I didn’t see mentioned. You can tell it where you are or by county and it will tell you all the known varieties that have performed well for that area. The Collin county list is a bit smaller so I use the Denton county list to add more varieties to try to those that are listed under Collin county. Also another resource in community gardens tied in with Texas Master Gardeners is there are research gardens such as next door in McKinney where they grow everything from natives to vegetables and herbs and fruit like different grape varieties and Earth Kind and other plants. These are open during the year so you can go visit them throughout the year and see how each plant does from month to month and make a list of those you like the performance of and then try them in your garden.

Thanks so much for doing this. I have my Vego raised beds set up with my Hugelkulture in place & I so appreciate learning about what to do here in Grayson County. I’m an experienced backyard gardener but new to Texas. I will come visit your nursery soon.

Would your channel be good to follow if I am in Cooke County, Tx? I know our soils in TX can vary GREATLY. It seems we have a sandy loam soil? It's sandy the first foot or two and then a mixed clay further down it seems.

For general information, probably yes. Cooke County is in the Cross Timbers and Prairies Eco Region, whereas Collin County is in the Blackland Prairie. Thus far, we've yet to post anything that is so specific it wouldn't be helpful.

@@ShadesofGreenTX Thanks for the info. I am not finding any channels for my area. :( Guess I will just keep trying and figuring it out on my own. Have enjoyed many of your videos, however. :)
