  • Collecting taboo items is a hot button in the collecting community and this is my take on it. #civilrights #history #collection #taboos

Good message. I struggle with this too. With my German leader stamps, I mount them upside down, displaying them, but without honor. I feel good about that choice.

I had a collection of Third Riech and Adolph Hitler postage stamps. Got rid of them when I lost interest in collecting stamps before entering high school. Wished i still had them.

Agree with everything you said 100%!!! The "cancel" culture is actually so destructive in all ways.

I collect patriotic covers from WW 2 with a focus on covers featuring Japan. As you can imagine some of these covers are incredibly racist. When I show them to others I always point out the time and the attitude to the Japanese before the war and how it morphed into hatred not directed to the Nazis or Italian Fascists.
To be honest I don't know what I will ask to be done with my collection. My first thought is to donate it to a human rights museum.

@oldhab7890 I have a number of items from the internment camps with the same issue.
