- On Sunday 30 August, at the British round of the MotoGP world championship, the air will be filled with the sweet smell of two-stroke, as 24 heroes of yesteryear line-up for the revival of probably the most famous one-make series of all time, the Yamaha Pro-Am.
But bringing the series to life after over 30 years has been a massive task. Bike Social gained exclusive access behind the scenes in the run up to the event - following the first (and probably biggest) race faced by the team - the race against time. - Auta a dopravní prostředky
what a mind blowing project , they picked a incredible bike for it , well done
I was a double champion back in 1995 in the formula LC championship, great days, great racing, great friends, full contact racing, many happy memories..!
The Elsies were a gem of a design and still look stunning and fresh to this day; as for the 2 stroke smell? Amazing.
Aaaaahhhhh the 2stroke smoke smell and sound... the 3 S's....heaven💙👌
How can anyone possibly give a thumbs down on this video, I've had four LC's, two 125's a 250 and a 350 power valve and admit that the 250 wasn't as quick as i thought it would be compared to how quick the 125's were admittedly they had been tuned a bit albeit amateurishly but the 250 handled like a dream, it stuck to the road like shit on a blanket as my my old man used to say, they all did and i had just as much fun on the 125's as i did the 350, i would have loved to at least seen bunch of these LC's screaming around a track, if i was thirty years younger i would have wanted a go myself
KH250 owners 🤣🤣
And don't forget the baby RD LC 75cc that was good for 75mph + , I rode a 1981 250 LC wheelie machine, happy days👍
Brilliant Brilliant - Had one back in 1982 - amazing .... still makes me smile
The LC has to be the funnest (is that a word?) bike ever built. I've had the 250 and 350. The 350 was the best. So much midrange which would loft the front wheel with ease. Happy times. If Yamaha ever manufactured this bike again they would sell a ton of them.
FANTASTIC !!!! Be sure to let us know when they are ready for re-sell !!!
It's the Concorde of the motorcycle world... Brilliant bike
Love these bikes I miss my 350 LC so much 😂
Rd250lc my first motorbike... got goosebums while watching your clip. Great job guys

What a fantastic project.
i love RD250lc first bike 16year old kid power band wheelies love it.and that 2 -stroke smell
I raced an LC350 4LO engine around 1984 (a pic of me on it on my channel header), raced it std for a while then did a pile of mods to it for Imp Touring class to bring it close to TZ G spec, Bud of mine worked at Bilstein Shocks and they had a shock absorber test dyno so he took the RDLC rear shock to test, it failed badly, only worked well when it was upright not laid over as it is on the bike and it was new, so he made up a coil over collar for a Bilstein Gas shock and I fitted that which was a huge improvement in handling and got rid of all the wallowing in the rear end when the rear tyre gets hot. Normally you had to start to the cool side starting a race to avoid the warm rear tyre wallowing in fast corners near the end but with a good rear shock it cured it so I could ride around other RDLC's on sweepers on a hot rear tyre no shakes. This was cured in the RZ later but it was a feature of all RDLC's with a hot back tyres.
This Design must come back.
Awesome - I had a 250LC back in 1980. First proper bike after a restricted 'ped. Remember the first time I hit that 6000rpm powerband - Oh My !!!!
Used to watch World of Sport just for this series and later on with the PowerValves.
Thanks. !
awesome n rare motobike..hai👍👋 from malaysia
What a brilliant idea,
Remember my lc with microns and k and n , doing wheelies everywhere, and running on Castrol r just for the smell of it
Holy shit!, my stan stephens 485 lc still rattles on in my memory!

Awesome ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐
Hope you post footage of the race asap couldn't make Silverstone this weekend ..
Raced an American RZ350 in texas back then, most fun ever, I was a mid packer, but did manage to trophy a couple of times . The competition was brutal , bar slamming, leaning on each other in turns .Funny how you end up with stacks of spare parts if you road race. Think I had 6 Rz's at one time
had the 350LC will take those great memories to the grave !!
Best racing ever,, even see riders hitting engine kill switch, on rivals bikes, totally mad
What do you do with loose crank bearings in the crankcases?
So, when is part 2 going to be released?
Good !
Will RD-250 headblock Reed valve carburetor can be fit for RXZ 5speed and 6speed for ride.... need to know how to perform.
How can I get one?? Love this bike!
I loved my LCs and a good 250 puts out more power than the new 300cc A2 class of bike lke the Nina 300 ect
MY OLD MATE STENEN WILL BE WATCHING THIS VIDEO
Are they still being raced any of them for sale
The one that got away. I bought a 250 new in 1981. Put some chambers on it . Jetted the carbs and it went like stink !
I did 36000 K's on it and now live to regret it.
Oh well.
remember this series well.iirc,Damon Hill was in the original series.
Love the way bikers love this intro music?
Why 250s ? Are the 350s hard to find nowadays?

Very nice job. But i found a bit ridiculous to do all this job for the 250 who is a lung.
@2.50 look at all those fuel tanks! Like fucking rocking horse shit!
You need Alan Carter on board
Hello good sir, I am looking for spare parts for a Yamaha RD 350 LC ypvs 31K 1983-85 and I am looking for some spare parts. You can help me!!! kind regards Juan pedro ok
KAWASAKI FAN FOR OVER 30 YEARS, BUT I WOULD ALWAYS WANT A 250, 350LC,RD500,JUST WOULD NEVER NEED ONE!!!, I'VE GOT A GSF 650 BANDIT, NOT A BANDIT S, BETTER THAN A BANDIT S. IT WAS NEARLY 15 YEARS OLD, WITH ONE CAREFUL CAUTIOUS OWNER WHO RAN IT IN FOR JUST OVER 15,000 MILES, IT ACCELERATES LIKE A UNARMED EXORCET SIDEWINDER POLARUS MISSILE, SO QUICK!!!. ALWAYS LIKED THE RDLC'S, BUT A BANDIT IS THE BEST BIKE EVER. AND I'M NOT EVEN LYING.
...right,my Yamaha250 RD LC II is the best i ever buy(mean bikes)...this great ingeneering is "TIMELESS" around the world, every guy who had a Yamaha RD LC II are speaks nothing bad things about it...thats a Little WONDER,manny other bikes have some ERROR...but not ...right YAMAHA 250 RD LC II
Id want to race there.
On a TZ750. 😁
I am so sorry I sold my RD 350 POWER VALVE IN 1997,
IT WOULD BE LOVELY TO JUST GO DOWN TO THE GARAGE AND KICK START IT AND HEAD OFF FOR A SPIN,, THE PERFECT BIKE, A ONE OFF THEM RD'S WERE
Me gustaria conseguir esta moto y sus repuesto soy de venezuela y estoy en Colombia denme un dirección grasiad
The smoking don't want to give up
Isle of man, races for standard 250,350,500 in
I'm an ass. 250,350,500 LC's, 3 separate races, that would be a treat, and a standard 650 Bandit race, kinda superbike, Professor Bandit 650 B.T.E.out., Bandit Torque Enjoyment only, nothing technical.
86 FJ1200. Any thoughts?
Great motor, beautiful bike. When that shaft drive xs 1100 came out it smoked everything in a straight line.I always loved all the fj and fz.
no wonder I can't find one of these bikes lol
And that guy who built a 40 cylinder kawasaki H2? How many bikes and restorations has he deprived of parts!??
I looked round the back of my shed and there was the remains of my brother's LC that he siezed in 1998. Not much left of it, frame, back wheel, swing arm, panels. Restoration to start soon but it's going to be very long term!
also hate to think what the $$$ cost would have been let alone the man hours
Pounds not dollars!
How can 14 people not like this ??? Anybody got a genuine tool kit willing to ship to australia ????
you only picked riders who ye knew there a load of 350 riders who would have nailed niall McKenzie!!
Like who?
I love the older bikes . There's been a few attempts that manufacturers have tried to do replicas but they just look crappy. Most modern superbikes look shit, they all look like modern mopeds from the front now, and the handle bars are getting lower and lower and covered in stupid bits of plastic and they are tiny . I guess people don't want good honest bikes anymore. But if your a tickturd I guess you would want a bike like that with full fairings side stripes and stickers
that there...is 2 stroke porn..
too much talking.....
Elsies dead long live the LC...…...if u accidentely build 1 too many I can take it off your hands ;)
Blackendv
