Geisha Backpiece Tattoo : Back at it

Back at it after a 10 month break. This is the Sixth session on this geisha and *hannya mask design. We took a little break because my client got pregnant and had to make a baby.
This was a quick session to get back into it. We worked for around 3 hrs on it this session and knocked out most of this flower. This is a Japanese style peony flower. in some interesting blues and and peachy colors.

In the image she is taking off a Neko (Cat) mask and replacing it with a Hannya mask. We collaborated on the specifics of the design and came up with a very unique piece that has a wonderful movement to and fits her body perfect.
* A Hannya mask is used in Japanese Noh plays. They represent a woman who has become obsessed or jealous but can be demonic and dangerous or sorrowful and tormented depending on the angle you look at the mask. This is meant to display the complexity of human emotions.
