- Welcome back!
First stop is Alligator Creek for a swim and cool off on our way south, we call through tully to stock up and then try to make up our minds on where to travel to next. A quick overnighter north of Cardwell at Meunga Creek calls for a swim at the Cardwell Spa Pools which is flowing. We head back through Forest Beach and venture over to the pub for happy hour, a very nice relaxing spot. Bryce bakes a loaf of bread which comes up a treat. Just outside of Rollingstone we head to Mystic Sands Golf resort for a couple nights on power, and check out some local swimming spots to cool off.

Apparently it is called Alligators Nest after a Scout Troop called the Alligators.....definitely no crocs when we were there.

I've been there many times. There is actually a well known 3m croc that lives downstream of the hwy. You can sometimes see it sunning itself on the mudflats below the bridge over the ck on the highway. Which is only a few km's downstream from where you were camped.

Fun video to watch, we also cut and wash our 3 dogs, saves a lot of money. Hey, do you think Cardwell has a very distinctive smell to it? I have spoken to other people over the years. They say it's got to do with the trees along the foreshore during certain months. I'm not sure.
