Complete the mission objectives set forth by the Company, and make it back to the Drop Pod in time to try your luck at even more deadly and lucrative encounters. Progress deeper and deeper into the planet while you grow ever stronger, survive all the way to the very end of your assignment, and finally get extracted alongside your hefty sack of loot.

Would've been better to get 2 Kinetic Guns (projectile weapons) for the Kinetic Firerate and Projectile Firerate upgrades.
I did this before and got the Firerate of the axes up to 5/s and it was INSANE! 😁
I think for the game to offer Kinetic and Projectile Firerate upgrades the 2 weapons need to have a Clip Size - and the Axes are exempt even though they DO have a clip size.
That's why I used 2 Kinetic Projectile guns to unlock the upgrades.
I tested the build multiple times and recreated the "Mega Axes" ONLY with 2 guns (Shotgun, Deepcore GK2, Zhurkov, BRT, M1000, whatever Kinetic guns you like) while super-levelling only the Axes and ignoring the other weapons.
They were just there to unlock the Firerate upgrades.
The Hi-Ex Grenade can unlock the Kinetic Damage upgrades, but not the Firerate upgrades.

??? Axe's aren't classes as a projectile and Kinectic is a damage type, so there are no FR upgrades...

Get 2 Kinetic Projectile guns tho and the game offers you both Kinetic Firerate AND Projectile Firerate upgrades.
It's the Kinetic Firerate you want, although the Projectile Firerate works with the guns and the Voltaic Sweeper.
The Kinetic Firerate isn't offered because of Axes or the Hi Ex Grenade at all.
And yes, you can get Kinetic Firerate even though it is a damage type, it's availability is tied to the Damage Element.
Try it with 2 Kinetic Guns and you'll see the game start offering you Kinetic Firerate - it is a thing - and it applies to ALL Kinetic weapons you have which includes the Axes.
It's literally the ONLY way to up the Axe Firerate.
@@psluxton Do you have a screenshot of this magical kinetic FR upgrade? I have never seen one and I constantly run Scout and Gunner builds that are generally projectile and kinetic based. There is projectile FR upgrades but that doesn't effect the axes.

Very fun to see your runs in the game, even if they are experimental and very challenging. Keep up the excellent streams.
the thing that stood out to me is how often the axe wasnt even being thrown. i guess maybe as nothing was in range, even though the bugs were relatively close? but yeah that 1 per second seems stupid with an increased clip size being the ONLY final over clock. they need to introduce more final over clocks. maybe even build paths, you choose x to get a choice of y or z next
tbh explosives should target biggest clusters - then it could be pretty neat.

Ammo rig + Tripod may be the way.
A starting weapon shouldn't need two layers of rng to be more reasonably viable compared to others like that, though.
Impact axe “doesn’t feel impactful” 😏
Interesting watch. You could see the axe throwing everywhere except for at the bosses. At the very least an OC that lets the axe target the highest HP enemy would be reasonable but that feels like it would become a necessary upgrade every time just to get it to decent effectiveness. Generally just looks like it needs some adjustments overall. Otherwise well played, that was tough.

Is it just me or is the axe reload/fire rate bugged.
I watched the clip a lot during the video and it appears to just not fire for at least a full second or more after each reload.
Also, agree with the removal of clip size. The weapon would be much better. That or at least treat it as other weapons with clip size. Perhaps just add projectile tag to it?
My opinion, if you *need* an artifact to randomly be offered to you in order for a particular weapon to be bearable (not even necessarily good), then it is a bad weapon, full stop. Axe sucks and feels bad to use. I beat the SA Driller goals *only* because I left the axe at level 1 and went straight kinetic projectile. It would be better if it had no clip size like the rest of the throwables, since that would be a huge DPS increase and might even be reasonable.
agree. i don't know who is comment said that axe is good weapon. i am surprised he even won considering he had no cryo or lead buster.
why not level up the other items? otherwise theres no point in getting items of similar builds if you dont also focus them?
Definetly devs need to put alteast one more OC for the Axe. Clip size is a bit meh.
Yep, it should have been a split(throw 3 mini axes with a smaller explosion radius) with a 50% FR increase.
Get carried by the explosive grenade tho=D Probably even killed the boss because of it=D

P.S. Axes are one of the most useless weapon in this game now. There have to be some adjustments to the axe overclocks.
Axes aren't compatible with your playstyle nor did your weapon selection help. Edit- Noticed your positioning for target selection is really poor.
Axes work best when you funnel the enemies into a chokepoint, which is why ammo rig and tripod are amazing for it.
The knockback keeps enemies away from you and keeps them in the target area where you do crazy damage.
