Cruise lines are now banning people for not only being caught breaking rules on their ships. Now they are banning people who make posts telling other how to break the rules on the ships.
Can’t fix stupid. Hope they are banned from all cruise lines.
It is called 'product tampering' and since the Tylenol incident... this is against the law.... and also stupid

One way to eliminate the water “hack”- make the bottles of water complementary. Cruisers have already spent thousands of dollars to get there; gouging an additional $5 for a bottle of water is so petty.

I've been on 10 cruises and do smoke. These people have no respect or decency to go to approved areas, they need to be banned by all lines.

Let's hope the other lines see her and ban her as well. As a private entity they can ban someone if they choose.

I had two of my door magnets dissappear off my door on my last cruise 🙄 I try to give people the benefit of the doubt, but it seems pretty clear someone took them. On the last day, I noticed one was missing, left for a couple hours, came back and a second one was missing. I don't know why people think they can do whatever they want and not care about other people.
@cheetocairo THAT is how people are. While my car was parked at my apartment 2 difference people hit the car from either side. They just left without leaving insurance or contact information

if you take a cruise, following that lines rules, and you don't follow the rules you should be banned - and that line should notify the other lines, and they should ban that person ALSO!

Guests in the balcony cabin above ours were smoking the entire time. Even tapping the ash off so it rained down below onto us. We mentioned this to guest services and they said they'd look into it but it continued the entire cruise.
You should have yelled up to the people doing it. I had the person in the balcony above me peeing off the balcony. I let them have it!!!
You probably should have called security instead. I find guest services rarely takes care of the issues.

I think from now on I'm going to ask the cabin Steward to swap out the cabin water for a new one.
At one time many years ago cruising was fun and relaxing.
I wish for those days again.
So selfish to tell people how to endanger everyone on a ship by smoking on a balcony. I think they should make that fire that happened a few years ago mandatory viewing as part of the safety video.
They need to be fine and jailed that's how to treat people that are bullies and are entitled

Don, you said people got "in trouble" but all that happened is they get banned for life from one cruise line. There's plenty of cruise lines. I don't get why an infrequent cruiser getting banned for life means anything - but bragging rights for them.

I lost my father because of smoking and a hot ash from a cigarette. This person should be banned. If you can't go to a designated area for a cigarette. Stay your fanny off of cruise ships. Go to an all inclusive resort and smoke outside of your room. But don't endanger thousands of lives because of your nasty habit.
Did the social media companies also ban/close out their accounts? Or they encourage such postings for attracting more advertisement revenue?

My neighbor in my senior apartment building fell asleep cooking and started a fire. Luckily another resident grabbed the extinguisher and put it out . The fire dept came and finished it. The building manager told me my room is only about six inches away through the wall. If my sprinkler had gone off in my closet and bathroom it would have been a terrible mess.
I had someone flick a cigarette overboard and wound up on my balcony chair. Burned a hole in it. Luckily it did not start a fire. Yes, we did report it.

Carnival maybe one of the few...who has enforced the rules. Good...follow the rules...or don't cruise. Break the rules suffer the consequences... I salute Carnival! Good report! After rethinking this, I would say YOLO and shitposting isn't really more than an annoyance, so perhaps the cruise lines should lighten up and consider not jumping immediately to lifetime bans.

I am appalled that the social media providers are completely indifferent to all this and the vermin that commit these offensive think it's cool. I don't claim to be an expert in how cruise ships are designed but I would think that the designated smoking area is not just a "Oh let's put one here" they are thought out and are designed in a certain way to minimize the area from hazards of smoking. Just a hunch but it's sure as hell not on your balcony. Peace

I saw the video about the water. She can say it was a joke but there was nothing in the video to suggest she wasn’t dead serious. As for the smoking on the balcony story he is a blowhard. As Jay from Shiplife said there’s no way a room steward is risking his job for $50.

They post for money & Fame!! Something is missing in their lives if they seek all this attention to themselves!! Don- you mostly talk about many interesting topics across the brands, not just about yourself as others do for attention!!!

It's sad how easily people are led by social media. If they would use some common sense and think before they would try what they see. They wouldn't get in trouble. Following the rules and guidelines is the best way to go.
The best way to deal with people doing those kind of hacks cause you can remove the bottle lid with the security strip intact that little ring that separates from the cap the best way to handle that would be people have to get on the Telly and call their cabin steward and have brought that water if they want to don't leave it in the room for that to happen also we need to pass legislation that anything in the room that is not furniture Towels fixtures t v's that the ship owns is basically complimentary so if you put bottles of water in there they're complimentary if you put the mini bar in there full of stuff it's complimentary consumable should be complimentary all the time in the cabin

@rogtif88 THERE is two types of metal: Magnetic and not magnetic. Saying “metal is magnetic” means magnets will stick to it. That kind of metal can also be induced with magnetism, or wited to be electromagnets
When Don is referring to people who are doing disgusting, rude, illegal things on cruise ships, I wish he would stop referring to them as ladies or gentlemen since they certainly are not! Try using “person”, “individual”, “man” or “woman”.
