His 3rd and final album with Dexys, "Don't Stand Me Down," is a masterpiece of 80s pop and, in my opinion, one of the greatest albums of the era (it even has a 12-minute epic in "What She's Like"). A shame he's only recognized for this one song.

Just goes to show even as they grow older, true musicians despite not necessarily have what it takes to perform as "lively" as they once did, but they can STILL PERFORM & ENTERTAIN!! I'm happy that Dexys came back, I would've hate seeing Rowland only being remembered as the "80's guy in a dress in the 90's" or the "eccentric one hit wonder". The press can be ruthless. When I saw their debut album and "Don't Stand Me Down" featured on the book "1001 Albums You Must Hear Before You Die" in 2007 I knew the full recognition would come sooner or later.
