- Bryce Canyon National Park is a smaller park, especially when compared to Zion National Park. However, it's a national park worth visiting, especially with its high concentration of hoodoos! In this video, we cover things to do at Bryce Canyon (including our favorite sights), where we stayed, and some tips to maximize your visit.

Headed there this weekend. Can’t wait! Thanks for the video, it was very helpful.
Awesome. Hope you had a great trip! 😎
We visited all mighty five last year. Bryce was our favorite. Being from SC it was a wondrous beautiful place. A must see.
That's awesome! Bryce Canyon does have a such a unique and interesting landscape. 😎
I'm from Virginia so I'm used to low, rolling mountains covered in trees...stuff like this blows my mind, too.
I've visited in March and would highly recommend wearing an old pair of shoes since at that time of year it was very muddy. The mud and snow did make it more challenging and limited how far we could hike. But Bryce is definitely worth seeing because it feels otherworldly!
Great tip! Thanks for the sharing. Sounds like you had a fun trip! 😎
You are so good! I am travelling to the parks next July and will follow all your suggestions
Thank you! I appreciate the kind words and feedback. Hope you have a wonderful trip to the national parks! 😊
Thanks for this great information! We will be heading there in October. Love your informative videos.
Thank you! I'm glad to hear that the video was helpful. Hope you have a wonderful trip in October! 😊
THANK YOU SO MUCH FOR SUCH INFORMATIVE VIDEO!!! My wife and son 3.5 years old will be visiting this place this weekend and it will make our trip more enjoyable.
Glad the video was helpful. Hope you and your family have a wonderful trip to the park. 😊
Great job on the video. This is a must see before heading to the park. Just did the Figure 8 combo trail. Amazing!! Best tip in the video is 'Start Early.'
Thanks! Glad you had nice visit to Bryce Canyon. It's truly an amazing place. 😊
Heading there in October along with Capitol Reef and Zion. Great video. I am marking this to watch again closer to our trip.
Awesome. I'm glad to hear that the video was helpful. Hope you have a great trip in October! 😊
Planning a trip to Zion and Bryce Canyon and your channel has definitely helped!
Awesome. Hope you have a great trip to both national parks. 😊
This series is awesome for someone who hasn't been out west! I'm from coastal VA and have been as far as St. Louis. The geography out at these parks is amazing. I gotta get out there!
Yeah, it's definitely worth a trip if you get a chance. The cool thing is that there are so many national parks in southern Utah, so you could visit several in one trip. I still need to do a video on Capitol Reef and Canyonlands National Park, both are close to Arches National Park. 😎
I'm from Richmond, been living out in Oregon for six years. Going through the SW in a few months. You have to come out and explore the west, it is truly otherworldly. I will always think the Blue Ridge Mountains is the most serenely beautiful place in the world, but these western landscapes are so thrilling and somehow intimidating for an east coaster like me. I love love love it.
awesome description. appreciate it!!
Thanks! Glad the video was helpful. 😊
Great views and shots, love this vid
Thanks! Glad you enjoyed the video. 😊
Excellent video! We're heading there in 2 weeks, and the video was comprehensive while being short. I also appreciate the clothing tips.
Awesome. I'm so glad to hear that the video was useful. Hope you have a great trip to the park! 😊
SOOOO helfpul & thoughtful! thank you!
Thanks! Glad the video was helpful. 😊
I just want to reemphasize #6. The weather can change in Bryce quickly. I was there in June in a snow storm. Thanks
Wow! Snowstorm in June must have been a big surprise. Thanks for the heads up! 😊
Great video. Exactly how I'd have described. Having been there many times, I'd suggest that you DO go to the park early for sunrise (Sunset point works just as well as Sunrise point.) After that, I drive all the way down to the Rainbow point and make stops at the in between points on the way back. Depending on how crowded the park is, I'm done with the whole thing before people start making their way down to Rainbow point. I like it that way (also visiting during off season.)
That is the best way to do it! 👍
Great videos. Are planning a trip in october 2021 and we have great help from your videos to plan hikes in Zion for example. We are from Sweden and looking forward to do this trip.
Thanks Mats! Hope you have a wonderful trip in October 2021. If you have any questions or need additional recommendations, don't hesitate to ask. 😊
Awesome Bryce guide!
Thank you! Glad the video was helpful. 😊
Thank you for the very informative video! 👍
Thank you for checking out our video and channel. I'm glad to hear that the video was helpful. 😊
Try the Finicum Ranch Airbnb in Fredonia Arizona. Awesome place
Thanks for the tip. We will definitely have to check it out. 😎
Great video, I hope to visit there someday soon!
Thanks! Hope you get a chance to visit too. It's an incredible place. 😊
Multiple people made the same comment, but I have to say this was THE most informational hike vid I’ve ever watched. It was exactly what I wanted! Most of the time I just watch the person hike through and make my own conclusions. Keep up the great videos! I very much appreciate it!
Thank you! We appreciate the feedback. It's always a pleasure to hear that the video was helpful and useful. 😊
Thanks for all your tips! very helpful in our trip to Sedona and now to Bryce and Zion. I just hit subscribe too!
Thanks for the support! I'm glad to hear that the videos have been helpful. 😊
I’ve been slowly making my way through all the national parks for my travel CZcams channel this was really helpful thanks for making it!
Thanks! Glad to hear that the video was helpful. Let us know when you post your national park videos too. 😊
@@TripAstute I'm editing yosemite right now.. but joshua tree is up! czcams.com/video/lRblCcn1AKQ/video.html
Quick tip:If you go to bryce canyon start from the back of the park and make your way toward the front. There are less people there in the morning then in the afternoon
That's a great tip! Thanks for sharing. 👍
Very informative. Im planning a trip in March.
Awesome. Glad the video was helpful. Hope you have a great trip in March! 😊
Great Video...👌👌
Thank you! 😊
Great video. Hope you get a chance to do a video of Arches National Park.
Thanks Chan! Actually, we did the Arches National Park video a few months ago: czcams.com/video/-nVt_jP0WnI/video.html
We still need to do the Capitol Reef, Canyonlands, and Grand Teton video. 😊
thanks just subscribed good video bro
Thanks! I appreciate the support. 😊
Good video and well explained. Great hints. Me and my 7 year old are going next Mayb
Thanks! Glad the video was helpful. Hope you both have an awesome trip to Bryce Canyon. 😊
@@TripAstute We are leaning towards an Amtrak vacation. Which hits all five Utah national parks as well as the Grand Canyon
I found the best time to do the easy Sunrise Point / Sunset Point rim walk is about 45 minutes to one hour after sunrise. The sun needs to get high enough to illuminate the amphitheater while being low enough to provide that soft, warm light (what photographers call the golden hour). The rocks glowed with colors that you don't see at mid-day.
That sounds amazing. Thanks for the tip. I will definitely try for an earlier hike if we manage to get back to Bryce Canyon again. 😎
Thanks for this helpful video! We will be at Bryce next week (pheww) and trying to pre-plan as much as possible with 2 smaller kids. For the Amphitheater (Bryce Pt, Inspiration, Sunset, Sunrise) is there a parking there or we have to Park at Visitor Center and take a shuttle there?
Great videos I want to go.
Thanks Jorge! It’s definitely worth a visit. 😊
great video! can you drive the scenic drive all year round or is it like Zion were cars are banned in some months?
That's a good question. I believe you can drive all year round. However, I imagine that the parking situation might be difficult during the peak months. So, it might be easier to take a shuttle if it's offered. 👍
Is there a continuous trail you can take instead of driving to all the points? Thanks for the video!
If you don't want to drive to all the stops, I would recommend just hiking along the trails near the Bryce Amphitheater. In my opinion, it's the most scenic and interesting section of the park. There are trails along some of other stops as well, but keep in mind that it's 18 miles of stops. 😉
great itinerary! How many days did you spend there?
Thanks! We only spent one day in Bryce Canyon, but we could have easily have spent a second day there. There are a lot of interesting hikes in the area. 😎
I'm wanting to do my first hike ever, which will also be solo and am looking into this park and Zion. Are these parks something you'd recommend for a first timer, in decent but not fabulous shape?
I think you should be ok with either. Both offers trails that cater to all levels. Zion definitely has more diverse trails and has enough hiker traffic that you can safely hike solo (with the exception of permit-only hikes like the Subway). 👍
When are you coming back? You should try and eat at pines
We are hoping to travel again soon. Though now we have a little one, so it's going to really change the way we travel. 😄
were you able to park inside the park while you hiked the queen and navajo trail or did you have to use the shuttles?
We were able to park inside the national park when we visited in late September 2019. Though parking may be a lot more limited during the busy months. I know some parks (like Zion) would require visitors to use the shuttle during peak months, but I don't know if that's still the case during the pandemic. 🤔
Great info, planning a trip for November. I noticed it looked like your wife had a lens on an iphone ??? in one of the clips. Not sure if that IS what I saw but if it was do you have information on it?
Thanks! We were using a Sandmarc wide angle lens that clipped onto an iPhone X. To be honest, I'm not sure that I liked using it. I found it to be a bit cumbersome to put on and off, both using a clip and case mount. Fiona did get some great wide angle shots with it though.
@@TripAstute Thank you for taking the time to reply. I appreciate your feedback
I'm visiting Bryce and Zion next week. After 3 months of research, I'm disappointed that Zion is not the most tourists friendly place for tourists who don't drive. So I'm joining a tour from Vegas instead of going on my own.
Have you been to cappadocia, Turkey? Since I visited cappadocia last July, I can't help but I have to compare both. I have a feeling that cappadocia is more impressive, because of all the hot air balloon rides
Unfortunately, most of the national parks (and in fact, most of the US) is not very accessible without a car. Zion is actually easy to cover by shuttle, but you would still need to find a way to get to the general area.
I haven't been to Cappadocia, so I can't compare both. But the fairy chimneys in the area do look incredible! 😎
@@TripAstute when the pandemic is over, I hope you will put cappadocia on your list. Tourists don't need to drive at all to tour the country, their long distance buses is so affordable and comfortable with free drinks and snacks, including coffee, tea. A 6 hour bus will have 2 drinks services, sometimes with icecream! Many well organized, affordable tours all over turkey. Of course I went on my own whenever possible. The caves in cappadocia is out of this world, mostly with churches dates back to the Roman empire. Traveling along the Turkish Rivera is like time travel back to the Roman empire. I will find out about Zion/Bryce next week with my 14 people tour group, with social distancing!
When I was 8 or 9 I hiked at Bryce Canyon
Very cool! 👍
@@TripAstute my legs were burnt off after it
😂
Is this something you can do in one day?
Absolutely. We only spent one day visiting the park and it was very doable. 👍
Is your wife wanted by the FBI? You only showed her from behind or a brief side view. Very annoying.
She’s not very comfortable being in the videos. We narrated some of the earlier videos together, but people left some rude and annoying comments. She decided that she didn’t want to be as active on the channel. 😔
@@TripAstute tell your wife to ignore the haters and keep on trekking! Great vid nice info, planning to visit late summer (only time we can make unfortunately!)
Thanks! Glad the video was helpful. When we visited in late September 2019, we were able to park in the lot next to the Amphitheater. I recommend starting early though as the lots tend to fill up quickly as the day progresses.
Hope you have a great trip to Bryce! 😎
