    I have the same mower with the same problem. Your video saved me hours of frustration and I'm so glad I discovered it. Thanks so much

    It hasn’t rained here in so long I think my mower thinks it’s raining

      My mower is sitting in one spot. I’d like to say it was because we didn’t have rain but really it’s because it ran out of gas 🤣

    I would have taken the spindle out and replaced it and not screwed with bearings. I had a similar assembly on a scag Zero Turn and spindle replacement was the answer.

      @@rosstheoliverman I didn't notice part 2 until later on in the day. I replace a bunch of them in the 16 years I owned that lawn mower.

    Just so you/he know next time, the other two holes in the flange that holds the pulley on, are to put the bolts in and press the flange off the shaft, no hammer necessary.

    • @rosstheoliverman
      @rosstheoliverman  Před 11 měsíci

      Unless they’re rusted, like this one.

    • @kanehoward7050
      @kanehoward7050 Před 11 měsíci

      @rosstheoliverman I ran a tap through them and used the bolts to remove the pullies. My deck was plenty rusted with holes through it that I had to patch up.

    You are definitely smarter than I. You rembered it was hot and didn't just grab it like I would have.

    You lost a socket off the back of the deck on the off side to the camera.
    I realize this was a ways back but just thought I’d mention it:)!

    You might try General Rubber in town . Might be less expensive than a dealer belt .

      I do know that sometimes the dealer has better quality stuff. The belts with Kevlar are much better than stuff you can buy at the auto parts store.

    Having a lot of experience with taper pulleys in the Oil Patch, driving a small long taper chisel in the slot on the taper will usually loosen it so it will come off. This suggestion is being sent backward in time to help you. Also, the whole spindle assembly would probably in time be cheaper than all of your time and energy. My guess is that your uncle has no grease gun.

    • @jvin248
      @jvin248 Před rokem +1

      Often those spindles are built with sealed bearings and a grease zerk on the spindle to fill a cavity that is sealed off from the bearings -- putting grease in there makes you at least feel like you are doing something.

    • @stevedibiase728
      @stevedibiase728 Před rokem +1

      @@jvin248 Yeah big debate should you remove thin bearing seal shield or you could drill couple tiny holes in the bearing shield let grease in or simply pack bearings by hand every year 🙂(many videos on Tube about this) lol
