While written by different people they make ref to the others shows. In the sequel to this, the old man is telling a new fighter of his about all the rival fighting rings to the Kengan matches, mentioning there's a major one underneath Tokyo dome where Baki fights. Also an official crossover exists.

BAKI was the best in the manga
Eh, Ohma's advance doesn't let him use most of the niko style moves, so the technique would be at best a 80, and he doesn't master the four katas completely until later on, so skill is like 90 ish.
This anime is kinda like Baki except that Baki has character That are Super inhuman while Kengan Ashura has kind of realistic fighting in it

Only Fighting Anime which i last watched was Megalo Box. I have to watch Kengan Ashura and Baki. Season 2 for Baki was also anncouncent. xD

Personally I love short openings saves time. Plus I didn't come to only be stopped 3-4 mins for each episode which can have 12 or 25 episodes. One time is good enough or a shorty like kegan.

for me, kengan ashura is the better version of Baki.
In baki its like people are throwing punches without any martial arts.
And in Kengan Ashura, you feel that the creators researched for martial arts.
I would've watched it if it wasn't CGI. I started watching Kengan ashura it is actually really good.
