    Billy Walsh was quartered here in 2002 when he was both an actor and real FDNY fireman in Sesame Street Elmo Visits The Firehouse which aired on February 4th 2002

      And that unfortunately features the overly cliché LAFD spec Unitrol 800 siren be used (via Post Production instead of a PA300) that was first used in Superman 2.... in 1980!

      FDNY ordered 10 Mack CF and one American LaFrance painted yellow/green for an experiment for seeing the trucks better, but everyone liked the red better

    Thank you for uploading and sharing. I recognize many of these faces even all these years later as my father spent nearly his whole career at E58. I have fond memories of great Christmas parties and times spent climbing the green machine, and the engines after.

    @nytmstr not saying that it does minimize or trivialize the work they used to do past or present. FDNY is one of the hardest working dept's around and deserve all the respect in the world from everyone. My 7 y/o son wants to grow up and get hired on the job with FDNY. He even has a 58/26 patch hanging up in his room!

      FDNY was part of the fire service trend in the 1970's to make fire trucks more "highly visible" by using different colors, but as time went by it turns out that having more strobes lights made trucks more visible.

    • @michaelsalvatoresicilian
      @michaelsalvatoresicilian Před rokem

      You're really mistaken. First of all I don't think they get a hour break, they get a break when ever they can get one, sometimes they're so busy they don't have no time for one and who ever said it was an hour. Second of all when has anyone ever seen a fire engine at a McDonald's? Fireman are some of the best cooks. Really disrespectful comment! God Bless!
