I think you could have shortened the cable housing to accommodate extra length caused by the sensor. By the way for other people's knowledge, if the motor has the shift sensor cable, it's said its cut off time is shorter when shifting than using the brake cutoff cables. It may matter when going uphill.

with bafang mid motors you can buy a 250w motor & put a 750w controller on them for more power plus you can get more out of them again on a laptop
