      There's always a first time you learn something! It's honestly only fairly recently that I'd figured out painting the eyes first, so with any luck thisis a hint that makes things easier for folks way faster than I got it!

    I've been meaning to comment this for a while but when i was following your DAK tutorial i decided to try the agrax wash with contrast medium. I found it draws all the shade into the recesses like a contrast paint would whilst still shading the mini meaning there's no clean up to do to! Might only be useful for light colours and such but i think its a useful tool for the arsenal given your painting style.

  • @jesse-got-dolphins-into-heaven

    i just painted a bunch of these for kill team i really love them
    i have some sample textured tiles i got from home depot that im going to use as a drybrush base
    i did a contrast red on the eyes to make them look glassy
    i only regret getting too over the top with shade so i ended up dry brushing most of the coat to get the color back.

    Sonic, thank you for another great video! You always provide interesting hints for new paints. You have surprised me with that uniform grey primer. Have not much experience with AP products. Is the grey tone really different to Mechanicus Standard? To which Citadel paint you wouldmatch the Uniform grey, please?

    • @SonicSledgehammerStudio
      @SonicSledgehammerStudio Před 2 lety +1

      Uniform Grey is a fair bit lighter than Mechanicus Standard Grey as a primer. I do quite like the latter, but Uniform Grey gives easier results for most mid-to-light colours going over the top. A similar colour in the Citadel range would be Dawnstone, though that's only the closest approximation; I think Dawnstone is just a fraction darker still than Uniform Grey, but it's close enough it wouldn't really matter once it's shaded and on the table.
