Dude, im just blown away by this,seriously. This shows that the absence wasnt for nothing, and that if we are patient, we are rewarded with top notch animations like these. Needles to say, awesome job with this video and im watching out for Episode 3. Cant wait for it!

Honestly out of all the intros I've seen for cross-over sprite animations (or just sprite animations in general) as of late, this one has been by far the best. Its just so clear and straightforward. It just makes sense and seems like it actually sums up the show, which im now going to watch. Well there was another sprite animation intro I REALLY liked but thats a reboot of smbz and there isnt an actual episode out yet, so this ones looking better in my books.

Hey everyone, sorry for the lack of updates anywhere for the past month, but I'm here with an update for you all and I think it's time I came clean with you all.
Okay, so let's address the elephant in the room:
*"Where in the hell is Episode 3?"*
It's been nearly 600 days since Episode 2 was posted and it's been over 8 months since the opening was posted. I know a lot of you are wondering where the hell Episode 3 is and what the hell is taking it so long. You guys have seen me mention real life, Flash problems and general laziness all being reasons. This is all true. But there's another reason that I haven't really mentioned now: lack of motivation. Or, to be specific, lack of motivation to animate.
Let me be 110% clear before I continue: *I STILL HAVE NO INTENTION OF CANCELING THIS SERIES*. Hell, my Co-writer and I even started writing Episode 4, I've started drafting out Episode 5 and we're planning out future episodes. This series is not dead and I have no intention of it dying anytime soon, not when I have so many ideas for it.
Now, some maybe wondering: "Wait, you've stated that you're extremely lazy. Isn't being lazy and a lack of motivation nearly the same thing?". Not exactly. Being lazy is me actively choosing not to do any work on the episode on a specific day. Lack of motivation is me *wanting* to animate on a specific day, but just not doing it.
Why have I lost my motivation to animate? I think it's because this episode is so late. You folks have waited nearly two years for this episode that I want to give you something special, even though, truth be told, not that much happens in Episode 3. So I've hit a road block. I don't want your waiting to seem like a waste because the episode itself, while entertaining, doesn't add much to the story, but by trying to find ways to improve what I got, I'm delaying it even more.
Here's the truth of the matter. There are 3 separate Flash files for this episode, one for each scene. I started work on the first scene in January of last year. Now, that must mean I've done a majority of the episode, right? I hate to admit it, but no. In total, I've done maybe a minute's worth of animation for this episode, again, due to real life. As time as gone on, it's been harder and harder for me to open Flash and work on it because I really don't want to disappoint you guys.
I'm not asking you guys to defend this. I really have no excuse as to why this has taken so long, but I think I may have a solution.
To help ease the wait for you guys and to help me put out content faster, I wish to propose this: splitting the episodes into parts. What I mean by this is that I post each individual scene as I work on them. Taking Episode 3 for example, when the first scene is done, I'll post that and you all can enjoy it while the second scene is being worked on. I'd do this until all scenes are done. Depending on the episode, I may only post one or two scenes or all scenes except for the final one. Once every scene is done, I'll delete the "parts" from CZcams and just post the full length episode for all to enjoy.
This way, content can be put out faster, I can make any changes to mistakes that are spotted and you guys can continue to enjoy the series at a more decent rate.
Another way to speed up some content is that I'm going to start looking for a 3rd writer to help out Tailskirby6 and myself. While I don't doubt our ability to put out extremely entertaining scripts for you all, I wish to do this faster, which is why I wish for someone with a good deal of knowledge of both the Mario & Sonic universes to join us. More details about this can be found on my dA.
I seriously cannot apologize enough for the wait between episodes. If you've unsubbed since Episode 2 because of how long the wait has been, I seriously don't blame you. I'm not asking for another chance, but I do hope you'll come back to enjoy Episode 3 when it's done.
One final thing to note is that my dA will now become the central hub for updates on what's going on with the series. CZcams will now only get the general version, while more details will be available on my dA.

And take all the time that you need cuz I know how REAL life can be hard at times too. Again I think that putting like 1 or 2 scenes at a time is just perfect and then do full-length of the episode is even better!
Live your life to the fullest and when you have spare time have fun and work bits and pieces on this :) this doesn't have to be your main objective you'll find motivation one day. Just don't ever give up on what you started. We believe in you and love your work. You're talented ! :)

Hey everyone, sorry for the lack of updates during February, but here is an update for you all. Computer seems to be a-ok for the foreseeable future (exporting an animation is the one thing I'm worried about), so everything is a-go for continuing work on Episode 3. Due to some life events in February, I don't have as much free time as I used to. However, don't think that will discourage me. I will do everything in my power to have, at the very least, a preview out for you guys by the end of this month. You all have waited long enough, so it's time I put this episode on high priority and get it finished (while maintaining my standard for quality, of course).
Should you wish to keep even more up-to-date on the series, head on over to my deviantArt page (link is on my channel). There I will be posting more updates, previews, behind-the-scenes and more. Taking a note from TeamFourStar here, I will also be making an Episode Progress meter so you all know where the status of the upcoming episode is. Hey everyone, hope you all had a great time over the holidays. Some people have been asking for an update on what's been going with Episode 3 and I do have news...and not the good variety.
I'll spare you all the usual excuses and to keep a long story short: I was planning on going full throttle on Episode 3 come January 1st. Grit my teeth and force Flash to animate it, no matter how much it didn't want to. However, my computer had...other plans.
Christmas day, after doing a pretty loud grinding noise most of the morning, the main fan decided to keel over and die, along with my power-supply. Replacing those and getting it back this past Friday, everything seemed fine...except for the fact it was still grinding, though not as loudly or frequent. I'm probably going to send it back for another repair trip tomorrow, hopefully it's just one of the external fans going bad and not the hard-drive itself. Sadly, in computer years, my machine would probably be early 20th-century in terms of technology these days (damn thing turns 6 this year), so it's only a matter of time before it completely dies on me.
Now, what does this mean for the series? One of two things:
1. If it really is just an external fan I hear grinding and it's replaced, nothing, really. I'll go right to work on Episode 3 and have it out ASAP. No harm, no foul, I'll just be starting work a couple weeks after I what I had planned on.
2. If it is the hard-drive going bad...that's going to be a big problem. Mainly in the fact that, with no real source of income on my end, I can't update this machine for quite awhile (probably a year, if not more), especially if I get the upgrades that I want. So, if it is the hard-drive, the series will, sadly, go on a hiatus until I am able to replace this computer. Everything in regards to the series has been backed-up and saved, so I'll be able to jump right back to where I was whenever the time came for an upgrade.
I once again deeply apologize for the extremely long wait between episodes. There is almost no excuse for the large gap between Episode 2 and now and I cannot apologize enough for it. I'm hoping this is a quick fix and we can get this show on the road. I'll keep everyone posted on what's going on.
When do you expect to be done
In case it IS your hard drive, make sure you copy your FLA file onto a flash drive, or back it up somewhere so you dont lose everything. Hope it helps:)

Seeing how long Episode 3 is going to take to make (especially with Flash being the pain in the ass it always is), I wanted to quickly put something together to show that I *AM* still working on this series and to try to hold you guys over until Episode 3 is done.

Let me stress that _I DON'T CARE_ that it doesn't fit. Yes, I know what the lyrics to this song are/what they mean and yes, I know that it doesn't really fit with the tone of the series. I really like this song and I wanted to do an opening for the series set to it. I don't watch that much anime, so this was the first opening song that popped into my head for the series.
Hey, if you can recommend any songs that would be great for an opening, tell me and I'll see if I can use them in the future.

What's all of these having anime songs for opening cutscenes? Why not a Sonic song like Sonic Heroes or Sonic Boom or something?
The original plan for this opening was to actually use a song from "Mario & Sonic at the London 2012 Olympic Games", more specifically the song that is played during the opening cutscene.
However, as I was planning this out, I started watching "Attack on Titan" for the first time and I discovered this song. I instantly had an idea for an opening animation and when I get inspired like that, all bets are off.
When creating an opening for this series, I didn't want a song that catered to the Mario or Sonic series specifically, I wanted a song that could, arguably, fit both series. Does "Wings of Freedom" fit both series? Probably not, but I love this song too much to really care.
