Just spent 17 days in the hospital after going into cardiac arrest and dying. Lucky to have been revived with CPR. Listening to this song daily gave me the strength to get through this ordeal.
welcome back.
I hope you’re still rocking dude
@@reelgangsta1851 I’m still rocking it.
here's a good one for you man! glad you're still kicking!! czcams.com/video/mwsd20dZ6nU/video.html
I'm on my "fiancée"'s account here, but I'm a 31 year old woman. Im on my way out for what feels like is way too early due to a liver and kidney disease, which makes me feel lame because all of my prior attempts didn't work and now that its happening, I'm oddly not ok with it.
ANYWAY - my original point to this comment was to say that I listened to this song and album sooooo much each time I got hospitalized. Its absolutely both crazy and awesome how music can be our tether back to life and how it affects us all. Its cool (but also not cuz I wouldn't wish it on even my worst enemy let alone a stranger) to at least hear someone else say what I think.
Please believe me when I say I genuinely hope things are getting better for you.
People used to think I was weird because I was the only black kid in my school who loves rancid. But seriously you can't beat how good they were
Yes u can
one of my best friends is black and loves rancid. ATL has black punks.

So nostalgic for me. Had some
Of the best times in tony hawks underground 2 playing that game for hours listening to this song
Ah yes grinding and kickflipping through barcelona. ;(
those games always had some killer soundtracks.
and also NASCAR THUNDER 2004
Nooooossa, eu também, por horas e horas, nostalgico!!
Me too brother playing it again now !
Moved across the country, by myself, sprinkle in some quarantine, and rediscovering my punk rock favourites has been cheering me up
Safe travels brother!! Where ya heading? Driving or hoping lines? Holler back!!
Yes sir!
Dude same. And discovering how awful LA people are haha. I'd keep the quarantine and head back east if i could. Good luck to you!
Gar Weber ... Same dude! Moved to the west coast this year and as soon as I put this punk mix in a few days ago I got a better job, got approved for my first home and just feel fucking good. Wishing good vibes to everyone out there. There’s some good folks in LA, just stay inland and try and find middle class folks. The rich and you tubers ruined the city back in the early 2010’s but still has some really down to earth people.
Love to you! And good luck. I left las Vegas 2 months ago...after 27 years of growing up there because its rancid. 🙈

Facts brother I hope you got back
This was my me and my brother's song. We grew up listening to in on the Tony Hawk games. We always said it described out relationship. He took his own life a few years back, so hearing it is really hard, especially with the message of the song. I guess I wasn't there when he fell down to his lowest, and that hurts me a lot, but hearing this song makes me think of him and makes me smile
this story hit me hard
Thanks for sharing...sorry for your loss buddy...I seen rancid first in 2001 in Ireland and blew my mind been a fan for over 25 years ..they have great songs of comraderie which which hits hard brother
Same exact situation brother. RIP to yours. He's still there to help you back up. As is mine.

My old man used to play rancid on our drives all of the time. The feeling of the subs the smell of the 6.0 hearing it spool and take off. God I miss being that age. I miss that truck. Here I am 12 years later at 17 years old listening to it again. I’d do anything for another night like it. 😔

I swear every rancid song is basically Tim talking about having friends till the end.
He's just keeping it real
The weekend before last we had a gathering for my best friend Maddie who died of cancer. Her only request was "Play fucking Rancid!"
We put her urn on a throne in the middle of a field on her mom's property, lit a huge bonfire and played Rancid's entire discography. We got drunk and told stories all night. Some of them might have been true!
Thank you for blessing the world with 52 years of your love and passion, Maddie.
This song is so helping me right now

Theres a music rehearsal stuidio. The rancid quote "in the shadow of darkness, i stand in the light" is torched into the sighn. Nice huh?
Matt freeman is one of the best and most underrated bassist..
Many people don't want to apreciate his talent, but he's one of the best Punk Rock Bassist.
indeed , It is one of my biggest influences on bass , he have a unique way of playing bass
Not just in punk, i´ll say in terms of rock culture, Matt is one of the greatest.
Ska and punk bass king forever!
Santiago Gamboa Devotto You don't know who is Cliff Burton right?
Who’s still coming back to this banger!?
This song perfectly describes how i feel about the people around me (just the chorus though) during this time of my life...right now i'm fighting stage 4 colon cancer, and with people from the nurses and doctors, to all the family and friends giving their support giving their good vibes and prayers and the like, i'm actually beating the cancer....it is slow going and very tiring, but i intend to stay around as long as i can...so far ive passed a few landmarks they said i would not reach...so i am definitely a believer in positive thinking....
Whoa,....homie!... Bro, I...{{sigh of awkward speechlessness}}...that's some pretty heavy shit. I'm really, honestly, sincerely sorry that you've had to endure such a condition. But!,...its good to hear you're making & breaking landmarks like you say. Ya see,....{{sigh...}}...well, obviously you don't know me, but the reason it was (is) difficult for me to find words to broach the subject is because my mom eventually died of what started out as breast cancer. It got better, then it came back as melanoma on her leg, and then,....{{sharp inhale}}...then it spread to her brain and spine. From there, it was just a matter of time. Some time did indeed pass, until finally March 3rd of 2000 came 'round. All I have to say is that I'm just really glad I was there standing by her bed side. I mean,...yanno, it's a memory that is bittersweet, but the thing is,...most of the time people don't get to be there when a loved one dies. I was...so I consider myself lucky. Wow, okay! Sorry, lol...dragged on a bit more than I'd planned. So anyway man,...shit sucks, sorry you got dealt that hand, glad to hear you're improving on a stellar scale, and uhm,...well, I empathize. As I said, I have a rather intimate understanding of that bitch called 'cancer'. Oh yah, also,....Rancid's fuckin' awesome, am I right?! lol
Yah it's good to have good friends and family I don't know you but I'm with you 💯 love you treefeog218...but for me it's about addiction and I know that it's not the same just wanted to share

Hey bro, I feel you so hard there. This last year I lost my house, car, wife, and job, so I get it. Just fuck make, jam this shit when you're feeling low, and get the crew to pick you back up man, that's the only thing that's saved my life in the last year.

This band is one of the best of the genre ever. When I used to buy CDs i would just buy the newest album from my favorite bands and sometimes it went wrong. Not with Rancid. I got overconfident that some of my other favorites would follow suit and ended up with U2s last few albums.
