That's the consequence of being the Forever DM.
Eventually even the responsible players start slacking, and at the end of the day, the DM is the only one keeping the ship on course.

I'm reminded of a tradition of the Roman Legion called 'The Gauntlet' where if a soldier ran in battle, he was beaten to death by his own squad, otherwise they were all executed.

Before decimation, they used miniature golf.
Those were hard, Brutal times. But a soft serve cone was only 15 cents.
Decimation was, admittedly, more time effective. And better for the lactose intolerant.

I always watch these videos with the chapter names visible because I love them so much
I can’t remember a time besides Grogs One-Shot where Sam laughed so hard he fell into that high pitched sqeaky toy voice and honestly that’s what I keep replaying while Jester attempts to message Astrid. When you’ve broken Sam, you’ve won.
And then when he poisoned Trinket in campaign 1- he just became a series of unintelligible squeaks..

The only thing I thought when caduceus made Essek take off his shirt was Essek thinking “I was not expecting this from the cow man, maybe Caleb but not caduceus”
Now “Fifty Shades of Green” is a reference to two entirely separate D&D moments from entirely separate campaigns from entirely separate shows/people.

I looked at Zealot Barbarian on D&D Beyond and yeah, it's pretty powerful. It's like if you combined Barbarian and Paladin
Zealot barbarian dies when they decide they want to die. So they never die.

I'm gonna be running a game soon and i'm trying to convince one of my players to play Zealot. As a note, the only reason i'm suggesting is because they're a new player and they're not quite sure if they want to play fighter or barbarian

One of my favorite aspects of this show is whenever Travis looks at Laura with that look that says, "This complete goober is the mother of my child... and I love her."

Never noticed it before--I do love how Laura gets just a little bit breathless when Travis does the pec thing at 23:48. Almost like they're in love or some sappy shit like that.
The mother to mother moment between Veth and cads mom was super sweet
So glad I wasn’t the only person to think “couldn’t she just use healing hands?” but getting struck by lightning is way cooler😂
I don't think healing hands would have worked, because technicallyyyyy (Jester voice) she was dead. Unless I'm missing something?
Aasimar Zealot Barbarian level 14 is just way too crazy tbh. You're basically immortal for the whole duration of your rage, and if it's about to end you can just healing hands 1hp and you're fine xd
@@kolosmenus oh, didn't know that. That IS kinda crazy.
@@evilsoupkitchen3709 Matt described her as dead for narrative reasons, but RAW "Rage beyond death" literally makes you immortal for as long as you're raging. You can still function 100% as normal.
Remember though that the rage ends if you didn't take any damage for the entire round and didn't make any attack. If the rage was to end while you have all your death saves failed, you die instantly. It's not much of a drawback though, considering you can just drink a health potion, or have a healer party member :p
@@kolosmenus I just read the description for RBD...I guess something like disintegrate or power word kill would still do the trick?
I love that both Yasha and Grog had where do you find your strength moments, and while they are wildly different characters they both ultimately answered in their friends/family

Yeah, I was very strongly team No Trent when this came out, the fact that it was even a possibility made my skin crawl so I'm glad they didn't bring him 😅

That moment with the images in the campfire and it gradually fading into just purring really shows how Caleb was such a source of comfort for his friends, and how especially near the end of the campaign, with this and the Tower and everything...was just a love letter to the Mighty Nein (and from Liam to the cast)
THANK YOU for making sure to show the whole cast at once for Jester's Message! What makes that moment so good is being able to see the entire cast's reaction to it! They were all dying! I haven't seen Sam lose it like he did in a very long time!
I watch the live episode on Thursday, I watch it throughout the weekend for things I missed the first time and now, I watch these highlights for the things that you see that I didn’t!! I love these so much!! It’s like having a friend who loves it as much as I do make a video for me.

Also, I'm loving the new editing format, the 8 little squares for the cast I mean
haha that was actually just because of the layout they used during that part of the episode. personally i'm not a huge fan of it since the cast's shots are really small and don't work well with what i do here, hence why i just kind of left them like that. in the future you probably won't see that, unless they use that layout more, or if there are specific moments where i want to show everyone -- but in most cases it's much easier for me to just zoom out and show the whole screen. glad you like it though! i was worried people would think it was awful lol

Re-watching this before 141 and MAN did Caleb's Nat 1 on that persuasion roll effect like a lot. The story could have gone a different way.

also everytime i rewatch this (which is a lot) i just have to loop the “it’s not a tombtaker” edit coz i still cannot believe how well the “it’s not a tumor” fit between travis and liam’s “oh NO”

maybe the problem with the word count in Sending is because you can't tell how many fives it's been, so Travis should also be using his face at the same time. 1-10, eyes forward, 11-20, hang head, 20-25, full head desk
I love that i'm still only 70 episodes, in, but these have kept me more current than Crit Roll Recap. So Entertaining to watch too. XD
