    • @KresimirKos
      @KresimirKos Před 4 lety

      Other cars have separate chargers which take space and are heavy - and for three phases / more power they would be even bigger, heavier and more expensive. That's why they have 7kW charger max as a compromise (1 phase, 32A). On the other side, Zoe is using patented (so others can't copy) chameleon technology without additional charger: it's using existing motor and controller for charging. Since the motor is already three phases and controller can use motor as generator in regenerative braking - it's rather simple for it to use three phase AC charging. This is the reason why Zoe (and maybe Tesla?) can charge on full 22kW power of standard Type2 charging station.

    Hello Robert,
    Ici France,
    EV's are being adopted only slowly in France, as the distances between towns is larger than the UK, but
    will return in the cities, despite the failure of Voiturelib in Paris.
    Zoe production was ramping up: 1813 Jan 18, 3662 Jan 19, and 9591 Jan 20.
    The Teslas you see on the motorway are usually Belgian or Swiss.
    Keep up the good work,
    Cordialement,

      I've a an e2008 on order. It's a GT, and its no different in performance that any of the cheaper variants, its just trim level. However, the GT in the Pug has many of the active safety features that the GT line does not, which is why I went for it and am paying a bit more on the lease, as I judge the extra £20 quid a month or so to be worth it. Estimating range as you drive is more complicated than it seems, because every single action and circumstance has a direct effect on range. But to be fair, ICE vehicles have the same exact issue. I was in a rental (ICE) SUV once years ago that had a realtime MPG gauge and it fluctuated WILDLY as I drove up and down hilly areas, around curves, slow and on highways, etc. If it had had a range meter, based on that MPG and fuel available it also would have found it difficult to pin down a reliable number. Hook up a trailer and things get even more complicated...
