How to Make Lasagna!

  • Have you wanted to make lasagna, but didn’t feel like you could? Watch as I share step by step instructions on how to make a delicious lasagna at home. You will want to make it again and again for dinner and to share with friends. I’m sure you will enjoy it! After the video, find the recipe below.
    Beef and Cheese Lasagna
    Ingredients:
    1 box (9 oz.) no-boil lasagna noodles
    4 cups shredded mozzarella cheese
    1⁄2 cup parmesan, fontina or other cheese (optional)
    1 lb. ground beef
    2 large eggs
    1 container (15 oz.) ricotta cheese
    1 tsp. salt
    ½ tsp. black pepper
    ½ tsp. dried oregano
    1 tsp. basil paste (optional)
    48 oz. pasta or spaghetti sauce
    Equipment and tools:
    13x9-inch baking dish
    Mixing bowl
    Spatula or spoons (for mixing and spreading ingredients)
    Aluminum foil
    Cooking spray
    Skillet or frying pan
    Vegetable oil (optional)
    Colander (optional)
    Small bowl (optional)
    Steps:
    1. Preheat the oven to 375°F.
    2. In the mixing bowl, combine 2 beaten eggs, 15 oz. ricotta cheese, 2 cups of the mozzarella cheese, ½ cup of parmesan or other optional cheese, and optional basil paste, if using.
    3. Set aside.
    4. Completely cook the ground beef in a skillet on medium heat until no pink color remains. Drain.
    5. Spread 1 cup of sauce on the bottom of a 13x9-inch baking dish.
    6. Layer the next ingredients in the following order: 4 overlapping uncooked lasagna noodles, ⅓ part of the ricotta cheese mixture, ½ of the drained, browned meat, 1 cup mozzarella cheese, and 1 cup of pasta sauce.
    7. Next layer 4 overlapping uncooked lasagna noodles, the second 1/3 part of the ricotta cheese mixture, and 1½ cups of pasta sauce.
    8. Next layer 4 overlapping uncooked lasagna noodles, the remaining ricotta mixture, the remaining meat, and 1 cup of pasta sauce.
    9. Lastly layer 4 overlapping uncooked lasagna noodles, 1 cup of pasta sauce, and 1 cup mozzarella cheese.
    10. Bake covered with foil for 50-60 minutes, rotating halfway through the cooking time (set timer for 25 minutes, two times).
    11. After 50 minutes, uncover and continue cooking no more than 5 minutes until the cheese is melted on the top.
    12. Let stand 15 minutes before cutting and serving.
