Yes! We are taught everything in school. We learned in school that Spain sold the Philippines to the US at a certain amount of money and that a fake war was staged in Manila Bay where the US eventually won. That was purely theatrical.

Correction for the other comments, Ferdinand Magellan is a Portuguese eager to expand and find new lands, he asked the king of Portugal to give him 100 crew members and ship, but their king isn't interested by his proposal, instead Ferdinand Magellan go to Spain's King he asked if he could get crew members and ships from them, the king agreed to him and gave him 5 ships named, Victoria, Trinidad, San Antonio, Conception and Santiago every ship have an average 45 crews

Just out of curiosity, from what I learned, old Marcos and his famous wife embezzled a lot of money and were overthrown by the people and fled overseas, How his son got the vote to be elected president in this case.
