WooCommerce: Should I Request A Phone Number At Checkout

    I agree that it is a big turn-off for many buyers, but as long as you don't make it mandatory, it shouldn't be an issue. The reason I and other e-commerce stores request this information is that many couriers, especially here in the UK, request a phone number to book a collection. Although the delivery drivers never call the customers if they can't find the property, customers do get updates via text message. So, there is no way around this unless you want to put your business phone number in there, which is of no use to the couriers. So, blame the delivery companies for this one. 😂 This field is optional in my online stores, with a little text stating that it is an optional field and that delivery companies require this. Despite this, every single customer leaves their number in my experience, so make of that what you will. 😂
