What about making Rattan Archers be able to BECOME trees xD?
Good reminder that if we compare Kipchaks with Mangudais; Kipchaks perform better against Rattan archers. (Also against Elephant Archers, Huskarls, Imperial Skirmishers, War Wagons, Flaming Camels, Longbows and Plumed Archers which can be good counters to Mangudais)
That is due to the multiple arrows, resulting in partial bypassing of the heavy piercing armor of the Rattan Archer :)
Same applies to the Chu Ko Nu.
Imagine being that one huscarl everybody is targeting and eventually dieing

@@mrgaudy1954 teh hukarl has immunity and bonus vs archers , rattan archers and ttn knights have just immunity to whom they counter
@@okabekun844 rattans actually has bonus against archers, this was confirmed by SOTL as an anti-anti archer- archer

Mostly ranged unit is at disadvantage when against melee unit so it's no surprise when seeing my own civ unique unit get totally dominated by melee opponents . Good vid to show how much they can do .

if you dont use part of their strength (their speed), this test is basically meaningless. i mean you shouldnt lose a single rattan archer against teutonic knights tbh

@Bao Thuy That's weird, they should call themselves latino in any case if they're from Latin America. It would also be correct if they said they are Hispanic, which means their country originated from the Spanish Empire but I don't think it's correct to call them Spanish. Spanish *speaker* would also be correct if they speak the language.

I believe Rattan Archer is top-tier Archer unit in AOE 2. You have decent damage but also the Pierce Armour of the Huskarl (full upgrades). And in the army composition it's great when you have a meat shield in front and you just have to deal the dmg
Well technically, rattan archer is one of the best if not the best archer unit you can get in the game considered Current meta. They are almost invincible vs any other range units in the game, even skirms can’t counter them. If you don’t pick Goth or Native American civs, you will have a tough times. But then again, you can counter them with rams as other civs

Elite Rattan Archers are OP, if they come in like 5 and you send 10 Skirmishers to counter, Skirmishers are gonna die. They are unbeatable.
yeah simply the skirmishers's attack point is super low so they can't fight with them
Skirms are still cost effective against them though

I just like the general concept of this series but the tests are inherently flawed.
1. You compare equal unit numbers and not equal resources invested.
2. No use of micro. This is extremely misleading
3. No composition. You wouldn't JUST send Rattan Archers into the fight without a meat shield.
What a useless unit, it does the job of a skirmisher and arbalest less well with none of the advantages (more range, better damage no gold cost), for a civ that already has the best skirmishers and above average archers, it has no place in a Vietnamese army composition.
I saw AI Vietnamese uses a lot of them... A whole army of Rattan archer flooding the map.
