Famine's theme describes how hunger can made a man deranged and ravenous, Pestilence's describes how stiff and neglectful your condition when overwhelmed with a disease, War's describes how aggressively and riskful is a heated battle, forced to fight and be responsible for the consequences, and Death's describes how quick and calm, recycle of life, one passes, one enters
And the beasts describes how the apocalypse is nearing humanity and there is nothing to do to stop it
And the Beast? Shows that metal is cool
And Conquest is... well... not in here so who cares!
I really just love the amount of character they gave to every horsemen. You have famine, who's only motive is to kill isaac, of course while still enjoying it. You got war, who is extremely aggressive and just want to kill. Pestilence who... Is just itself and death, the more quiet one that just wants to get the job done. I love this darn game so much man
I love the animations they have in the background and when the current horseman dies they have a little reaction like Pestilence panics iirc, War goes feral, and Death is just "if you want a kid dead just do it yourself"
It's weird how much cinematic life they breathed into... _Death's_ particular segment. Feels so... deadly.

I love the macabre sound of ultra deaths theme, then the total whiplash into the beast theme which is just total carnage

I'm completely in love with Ultra Death's theme. With the 4 past minutes of hard battle with some epic & dangerous music, it simply appears in the show after a facepalm and some calm yet creepy music starts, just to tell you he's gonna kick your ass without any effort made.
(+ damn his darkness attack is really cool)

Death reusing the Genesis melody makes me think that specific leitmotif represents fate, thus in Isaac's case, _his tragic death_ in the chest...

I think it's worse when you realize that the 4 horsemen originally in Christian literature and history were Conquest, Famine, War, and Death.

underappreciated comment. it makes me happy to see isaac face his demons straight up and see himself as a force for good. its unfortunate he ultimately lost against dogma, but i think he'll get that out of his system eventually. isaac 2 or something
@@HueManatee How I see it is Dogma helping Isaac out to kill the Beast that his mom has become, not only for Isaac himself, but to undo what Dogma itself has created
@@mrult28 i dont think thats it. dogma was never a good thing for isaac and is the ultimate evil that had ruined him and his family. it helped him rationalize things because hes young and cant understand, but he still cant see whats really going on because of it
@@HueManatee Well the "Dogma" item you get after "beating" Dogma gives you flight, full hp and a one time holy mantle, and you can hear the voices of It's priests in the background during the cutscene before the Beast fight. This leads me to believe that Dogma does help Isaac defeat what it caused, or at least use him to It's own advantage and defeat the Beast.
@@mrult28 it helps in the way that it helps isaac process what happened to him. but its still isaac only being able to see the world in the fantasies of the bible; his reckoning represented by the four horsemen, and his mom as the beast of revelations. he takes the apocalypse from revelations and transforms it to fit to his own personal apocalypse. isaac was close to a breakthrough, fighting Dogma not in some imaginary void but in his own home, no more escapism, until it took him again, and the walls melted away to show hell, with isaac's static eyes showing he's back under the influence of religious dogma. btw, the preaching you hear is the bible verse describing the beast.

Shame that aside from Lamb and ??? this is the easiest Final Boss Fight in the Game. Unless you have a build specifically bad at dealing with their boss armor then they all go down in no time before even the hard patterns starts. Even a run without Items can comfortably deal with those 5 which is especially sad considering you have to fight dogma before that which Ranks in as one of the top 4 hardest bosses in the entire game depending on personal opinion. Its quite a Let down considering that this was basically the Ultimate Final Boss Repentance gave us so I had hoped it would at least stack up to Ultra Greed, Hush and Mother in terms of difficulty. Worst part is that its really just a matter of health. Each of the 5 has at least 1 deadly attack that is hard to dodge they just die before they even reach that pattern. If you want to truly experience hell do this fight with mostly pure Ipecac and you see what I mean.
Really? For me the final battle is harder than pretty much anything but Delirium. Personally I count the 4 ultra horsemen and The Beast as on giant boss though.
Because they learned how to make genuinely balanced boss fights instead of garbage like Delirium or Ultra Greedier to an extent.
@@simplymax1337 I don't know about balance when I only get to see 50% of what each of those bosses has to offer in 99% of runs.

Because it's essentially 6 bosses one by one, so of course individual bosses are gonna be simpler

The Death phase sounds even better and creepier at 0.75x speed
The Death phase sounds like a sped up plants vs zombies song at 2x speed
