  • Hello everyone, welcome to another kiln opening. Could it be time to change clay bodies? I am currently using Buffalo Wallow. I do like the finished clay body color but not the ability to fire with longer hold times. I only do a five minute hold on cone six. I get a lot of splits and irregular glaze interactions. I want to find a good clay body that can do cone 6 with a twenty minute hold. If anyone has a good suggestion for that type of clay body please let me know in the comments. All in all it wasn't a bad opening I just like things to come out as they should. Anyways, thank you for watching.

My favorite is the lidded vase with copper jade, tigers eye, shino, and amber quartz glazes. Also love the Old World pitcher. Looking forward to seeing more oyster plates. Tnx.

Absolutely love the rustic charm of your pottery. 😍
Also, it's nice that you focus entirely on showing the pots in your videos. One can get a proper eyeful of how they look.
My favourite are the pitcher with the lid that looks almost like a small cup, and the bowls with lids. Very beautiful shapes and colours.

Your very insightful with your comments. The lid is a small cup. I didn’t think anyone would catch it. Your comments have just made my day a better one.👍

The Ivy glaze is beautiful, how do you know what glazes run and don’t run?

I had a few pots stick when I first used this glaze. You really don’t know how much a glaze will run until you use it. I adjusted how low I painted in the pot and didn’t go so heavy with it. It is one of my favorite glazes now.

I just added ivy to my glaze stock. I haven't tried it yet but it's so beautiful. Did you do any test tiles first or did you just go for it? I ask because I really need to start doing test tiles 😂

I can’t bring myself to make test tiles lol. I did have a few pots stick but adjusted because it is a runner. It’s one of my favorite glazes now.
