#furiosa #madmaxsaga - Krátké a kreslené filmy
Seen this in cinemas about a week ago, would really suggest going and seeing it on the big screen. The use of dramatic silences by the director are on point and dementus was a really well thought out villian.
Kinda loving dementus and how Chris isn't doing marvel chrisisms in it so far. I love how he looks and how he sounds. The high pitched evil doctor/showman sound is wonderful
Don't see the movie yet so I may be wrong but it looks like a woke madame max from here.
@@kromenfolie543 "woke blah blah woke blah"... it's funny actually seeing the goalpost being moved as people complain that it's not Fury Road... and a few years ago the complaint was that Furiosa had too much screen time in Fury Road. So it must be woke. Back in the 80s the bros didn't like Aunty or the tribe of kids so that wasn't Mad Max anymore either. Better go back to watching Road Warrior... assuming you ever did.
He sounds like a 1940s carnie/auction hawker from Queensland.
Yeah... they told Chris, "watch Mad Max 2 Road Warrior, and talk like the mechanics assistant." "It'll be great" they said.

Technically they have seen this clip from the MOVIE.

Don't knock on Mad Maxine , it's awesome , trust me bro.

I was so happy that this movie took us to the bullet farm and gas town
Poor jack 😢 he's the best guy in here
Discount Mad Max. And what Max should have been in Fury Road.
@@AAAA-lt9hq theres always one that can't stop the bitching
@@gourav4672 Not really bitching but a reasonable complaint considering I waited 9 years and drove an hour to see the film only to see it rob itself for ideas.
It's just the cognitive dissonance of "know it's not Max but pretend it is Max because you want it to be."
At first I even thought Jack was the Max cameo (dialog goes by fast) until I realized he didn't have a knee brace.
Jack could have been like Max but also different. Like Jim Goose was like Max enough to be his best friend but a motorcycle cop instead of a pursuit driver.
That said, I'm way softer on the Praetorian Jack character than many people on IMDB are.
Jack seems to be an apology to fans who wanted more Max in Fury Road, and Jack is probably the closest we'll probably see to a reimagined Road Warrior era Max.
@@AAAA-lt9hq literally have no idea how you come to the conclusion of this is female max in a movie clearly not named or made for him, please tell us how else would a female protagonist survive in the world of mad max without being just as wild and crazy? And thats not even considering a good, unique villian like dementus, could have been another immortan joe.
@@gourav4672 "literally have no idea how you come to the conclusion"
First, I totally agree that Dementus was great. He was like Auntie Entity from Thunderdome in that he was a charismatic villain you could sort of relate to and like. Cool ideas like the changing color of his cape show his descent into evil.
Second, females survive in Mad Max. Virginia Haye's Warrior Woman from The Road Warrior is a great example.
Third, I don't expect you to understand my position because I'm drawing from more background knowledge about the film and franchise than is explained in Furiosa and Fury Road.
*To understand my problem with Jack, please watch The Mad Max Bible's CZcams channel. There you will get a definitive Max Max timeline and what has been merged, retconned, and rebooted in the timeline over the years.*
*Their source is the original Fury Road production/screenplay notes from 1985-2015. They painstakingly follow how George Miller's ideas for Fury Road changed over time. Those discarded ideas were reworked into Fury Road and Furiosa. One of those reworked ideas was 2001 Fury Road Max, recycled into Praetorian Jack.*
So where did Praetorian Jack come from and why do I have a problem with him?
Fury Road originally was to be made in 2001 with Mel Gibson but didn't happen because of 9/11 making the film more expensive to make. Mel's personal problems in 2006 and his boredom with the Max character since even before Thunderdome meant he would most likely never return to playing Max.
In Miller's 2001 Gibson treatment, an older Max in his 40s was originally supposed to fall in love with Furiosa and find closure. Except this closure already came in Thunderdome when he rescued the children, making Thunderdome pointless as redemption.
Also, giving Max a romantic angle would have ended the need for more Mad Max movies. Max can never find closure. That's the franchise theme.
So the idea of a Max/Furiosa romance was ditched. This is the separation between Jack and Max.
Put another way, 2001 Fury Road Max was 2015 Fury Road Max and Praetorian Jack combined.
*Ultimately what Miller did is he took the 2001 Fury Road story, replaced an older Gibson with a younger Tom Hardy, got rid of the romantic angle between Max and Furiosa, and turned this disused romantic version of Max into Praetorian Jack. The non-Jack parts of Max's 2001 character became the Max we see in Fury Road.*
*So, Praetorian Jack is literally the 2001 first draft of Max from Fury Road before Max was sidelined to give Furiosa more room to shine.*
I resent this. It's like replacing Superman with Bizarro. More should have been done to differentiate Jack from Max because *making a Max who is not Max cheapens Max's character.*
Think of it like Star Trek. Jean-Luc Picard is not a budget James T. Kirk. He does his own thing but still draws from what Kirk established.
Splitting the plot of Furiosa and Fury Road instead of combining them into one 2001 movie as originally intended also made the film's plot easier to manage. And it made for two movies instead of one.
How would I have handled reconciling Max and Jack?
*Praetorian Jack should have been Max doing convoy runs for Dementus and Immortan Joe between The Road Warrior and Fury Road (about 17-20 years) while Max was earning parts to rebuild the second Interceptor seen in Fury Road.*
As fan service, they could have heavily implied the Praetorian was Max (overheard Citadel conversation: former MFP pursuit driver, killed Humungous during a convoy run, survived Thunderdome, one of the best) without ever calling him Max.
This would have been going on while Furiosa was growing up (I am assuming she is 28 and Max is 43 in Fury Road based on production notes). So, Max and Furiosa would cross paths, but as adult and child, and thus not recognize each other by Fury Road. It would have also mirrored Max's interactions with the Feral Kid in The Road Warrior.
It would have also given a lot more weight to "My name is Max" at the end of Fury Road once she realizes that he is in fact THE famed Praetorian from her childhood. Not only that, but she rescued him like the Gyro Captain did, further boosting her confidence and importance as a character, making her a Wasteland legend in her own right.
All they would have had to do is put a knee brace on Jack and cut out most of his parts in the film. Remember, it's just Max passing through. Less fun, but better for the plot. Cutting out Jack would give Furiosa more to do than just be handy with a sniper rifle.
Then the comics would take place. In them, after Thunderdome but before Fury Road, Max wins an engine for the new Interceptor in Thunderdome Plus. The rest of the parts are on his cart at the beginning of Thunderdome. But he can't completely rebuild the car by himself in the Wasteland. He needs a Barry-like character from the first film with a proper shop to do the engine work.
He is captured by the Buzzard gang and left to die. They finish rebuilding the Interceptor we see in Fury Road. Max is rescued by a woman named Glory who needs Max to rescue her daughter Hope from the Buzzards. As Max rescues Hope, he steals back the second Interceptor. The second Interceptor is the one taken by the War Boys, turned into the Razor Cola, and destroyed in Fury Road.
In the process of Max's rescuing Hope, Hope and Glory die, and Max becomes mad again. It is this Max we see at the beginning of Fury Road. This story is probably what we will see in Mad Max: The Wasteland if it gets made.
*Why else did I not like Jack? 1) Furiosa didn't need a mentor because of her mother and perhaps even because of Dementus who would have taken care of her better than Immortan Joe as long as she could eventually guide Dementus back to The Green Place, 2) she didn't need a romantic partner because this would have been baggage she would have been too smart and jaded to carry, 3) Furiosa couldn't have a relationship because she was intended to be a wife of Immortan Joe's who became an Imperator because she was barren, and 4) Jack was too much like Max. A colorful Jim Goose or Gyro Captain like character or even the History Man could have been Furiosa's teacher had they insisted on one.*
*But they had to give Furiosa a love interest in Jack so she would have the training and motivation needed to kill Dementus. She didn't need this because her mother and Dementus already trained her and Furiosa already wanted to kill Dementus for killing her mother. Dementus would get his comeuppance from his adored child who had unexpectedly and ironically returned to kill him, making him something of a tragic, misunderstood hero.*
*So Praetorian Jack was an unnecessary placeholder character: a Max who was not Max. A budget Max. A generic Max. A Max that further weakens Max more than Fury Road did. All so the fans could have some Max without having THE Max.* It's a cheap cop out. But Jack was enjoyable to watch and I liked him as a noble character--a Max before the fall, maybe.
In conclusion, Fury Road was intentionally designed as both a sequel and a reboot. The new films are connected to the Gibson era films with the 2015 comics as bridging material. Furiosa draws from the comics and, if Mad Max: The Wasteland ever gets made, it will probably draw from them as well.
Other than Miller's de-aging Max slightly and adjusting when the nuclear war took place (now between The Road Warrior and Thunderdome instead of between Mad Max and The Road Warrior), all Mad Max films are continuous canon. At the same time, the new films are designed so you don't need to watch the Gibson films to understand them just like you don't need to watch Mad Max to understand The Road Warrior (but it helps).
*What's great about Furiosa? It helps to fill in more Mad Max plot than any film since the first one.* We needed more dialog and less car chases to world build a bit more for once, but those kinds of Mad Max movies tend to turn into Thunderdome, as I fear Furiosa has based on its lukewarm reception at the box office.
For me, I consider the comics canon and the 2015 video game plot that contained unused Miller ideas at that time to be pseudo-canon (Scabrous shows up in Furiosa but not how he is depicted in the video game). Since the video game ideas were pre-existing Miller ideas adapted for the game but not used in Fury Road (but are adapted for use in the comics), we may see parts of the video game's plot turn up in Mad Max: The Wasteland.
Sorry for the length, but I wanted to explain Mad Max stuff to fans who don't know the backstory. Hope this helps.
Cg is bothersome but overall everything else is good. Hopefully the whole movie isn’t overtaken by cgi. Fury road was smart in how they utilized it
I tought the same.
U just dont get it why they used CGI if they have the same budget as the las tmovie.
Everybody liked Fury Road precisely because it used real footage with CGI used just to enhance the scene.
I think this one will not meet the bar of the original.
It’s not as much cgi as you guys think the vehicles are still all practical and a majority of the sets as well it’s an effect George put on the film almost like a filter to make things more shiny because the movies isn’t based so deep into the apocalypse it’s closer to the beginning of the fall

I came away from this movie with a grudging respect for Immortan Joe’s governing philosophy. He’s cruel, he’s jealous, he perpetuates a permanent underclass, he keeps a harem and he turns a blind eye to his sons’ depravities… but he rewards good service, he doesn’t care where a good idea comes from, and his councilors are free to give advice without fear of being pulled apart by motorcycles. He believes in limiting suffering by preserving stability, unlike Dementus who has a skill for conquest but sucks at actually ruling. By Waste Land standards, Joe is practically Solomon.

0:18 Why's he aiming with his left eye? Being left-eye dominant, muhself, I sympathize with that preference, but the RPG-7 is made for right-handed use. If he really had to, he could tilt it a few degrees to his left. The sights are offset to the left, but are positioned to favor a right-handed user. Also, his hands are in the wrong position. Movie people almost always get this wrong. The right hand is meant to grasp the front grip. The only movie I can think of off the top of my head that gets it right is 'The Beast' (aka 'The Beast of War').

This is one of the silliest complaints I've seen on here. I love how many people come out of the woodwork to complain about a movie they haven't even seen. You can accept a movie where people fight each other in monster trucks and big-rigs with excavator buckets for weapons, but "she has her eye socket on the scope so I refuse to accept her as an action hero." where is Max?
Wheres the Hamma? Thor needs his Hamma. lol
FLOOOOOOP incoming
Wow... the CGI takes you out of it in PRECISELY the same way that its far more restrained use placed you right in the middle of Fury Road. In fact, when talking about Fury Road, Miller made this EXACT point about its visual success many, many times. Given that, I see its heavy and obvious use in this film as almost a failure by design. And many of the characters look more like they belong in a superhero movie than an apocalyptic wasteland. Marvel should consider legal action over that Dementus in a red cape outfit. And one of the signature coolest moments in Mad Max (IMO) was when Charlize Theron's Furiosa reached down and got grease of the war rigs steering column then smeared it on her forehead. In this clip however, it looks like Taylor-Joy had her makeup done in a Hollywood makeup chair... Furiosa, by Channel. The more I see of and read about it, the more this film seems poised to not live up to much of what made Fury Road great. And, speaking personally, Charlize Theron MADE the character of Furiosa and delivered one of the all time great performances in bringing her to life in Fury Road. Yes, I know... prequel, need younger actor, blah, blah, blah. But if Scorsese could make senior citizens De Niro, Pesci, and Pacino look like young men in The Irishman, I call bullshit on the argument that Ms. Theron was too old for the part in Furiosa.

Wah wah wah, so many more ridiculous things in the Mad Max universe and you cry about this
@qqqhv8777 No, it's nothing to do with the mad max universe, just like this film is nothing to do with mad max. It's the same old story over and over and over again. Tiny girl girl bosses her way through the movie with the help of extremely accommodating stunt men and beats everybody because she has invincible plot armour. It's been done to death, and that's why this movie failed, and that's why all subsequent movies featuring strong female characters will flopp, the trope is old and tired, and everyone is sick of it and for good reason
@@GUSTAVINNESSONNwow, you just made it obvious you didnt watch the movie. Furiosa is a perfectly healthy woman cuz she grew up in the green place. Furiosa is on of the most believable badass women in cinema history
Third class movie 😂

This movie was nothing, i mustve watched a different movie than most people because this aint it. Not to mention to CGI was atrocious throughout the entire movie, which took me out a lot. I was really excited for this movie, and it seems like a huge backstep from Fury Road.
The plot of this movie was a wasteland.
I don't get the hate at all. Furiosa is an awesome character and this looks incredibly cool to me. The anger that Max isn't in this film is just so immature, silly, and fueled by such an overblown sense of (former) fanboy self-entitlement and Critical Drinker/anti-Disney inspired group-think.
I think the average viewer can't even tell what's CGI and what isn't in this clip. I remember people saying the Flamethrower guitar in Fury Road looked incredibly fake, and that was 100% real. For instance, the rig hitting the tower in this scene was done practically.
I agree I can't wait to see this movie
in 2 days it will premiere in cannes and it will prove everyone wrong. all these haters are so blind and it shows that they have no clue about actual filmmaking at all. the shot composition and overall design look so good i cant wait
Exactly.
From my very amateur analysis of this clip I wouldn't be surprised if this isn't the final cut of the scene. Shot transitions are solid (George's wife again, great editor) but the shots are cut too short and don't convey actions well, plus there's a bit in the trailers left out here. If this IS the final cut then this wouldn't bode well for the film, but as a super quick promo it does the job.
Same production team and team leads as Fury Road, which bodes well, but that film was a tight two hours with a simpler plot and this runs another half hour longer. Already a small red flag but we'll have to see. Apparently Furiosa's only got 30 lines in this so assume they're not going to pad out time with extensive dialogue.
CGI is definitely off the rails here and the average viewer is able to tell. Personally I'm willing to view this as more stylized rather than dogshit, George has had a long time to work on this film and most of the action is practical. It'll definitely be a fun watch on the big screen. Definitely feels like a different world.
Overall I'm a Mad Max fan, definitely looking forwards to this one. IMAX if I can, not expecting perfect but a good time nonetheless.
P.S. Also Drinker has the right idea. He's praised Fury Road for what it is and I respect his opinions as well. The fact that you feel the need to exemplify him shows that the lad's voice has gone pretty far and hit home. Not bad for a drunken Scottish asshole. If he shits on this film for whatever reason though that's not stopping me from enjoying it.
Mad Max has a specific aesthetic. You can't just slap a title on any old shite and expect a fan of MAD MAX to be happy. Mad Max is a specific thing. It's not just generic action with physics-defying stunts and straight-up plot-armored invincible heroes.
