I got one of these for my son who isn't born yet. Imagine what it would have been like if your father one day surprised you with a brand new Star Wars toy from the past.
You are a GREAT dad! Here's some friendly advice: Before my son could even walk, I got him into R2 and 3PO first. They take up the whole first 1/3 of A New Hope and that could bore today's child. But my son was already a fan, so once he reached Star Wars age, (5 or 6) he loved every minute of A New Hope, even though most kids call that "the boring episode."
2009: “It’s probably gonna run you a little bit of cash, it costs well over one hundred dollars.”
2020: “LOL, that’s cute.”
Just Plain that's no BMF. Try to get a complete BMF for less than $500
@@RetrocadePodcast oh I thought you were speaking about the toy industry in general not just this specifically. Whoops lol.
When Hasbro made good toys...before the darknes days,...before the Empire,... before Disney
i can't hear the sounds with the music playing!
Couldn't agree with you more. That music was also awfully annoying after a while. It's not necessary to fill my ears with noise Mr. Eardley
Dude we need an updated review of this! Now that your production value is top notch, I’d love to see a reoccurring older potf 2 and early Hasbro updated reviews/flashbacks. The potf 2 line might be the most important line as far as how many collectors it created
HONESTLY THE BEST REVEIW OF ANYTHING ON YOU TUBE EVERY PART IS A MOUTH OPENING EXPERIENCE!!!😲
Thumbs up for the cat looking cool and casual on the chair.
That Falcon is frigging beautiful!
Me and little brother each got one of these for Christmas about 12 years ago! Seeing this video brings back memories 😌
I was at my local Target today doing my daily patrol of the toy isles, and just as I was about to leave empty handed as usual, I realized I hadn't checked the clearance end cap. When I arrive, I am dumbfounded. Perched on the bottom shelf of the endcap is the Smuggler's Run Millenium Falcon! It's got a "Repackage" sticker over the barcode, and it won't scan in the nearby price checker. I haul the massive box to the service desk for a price. $279.99, and they say I'm welcome to return it if it's missing any pieces, as long as I have the receipt. I get it home, and it's clear that whoever returned her only opened the box. All of the poly bags were still sealed. Nothing is missing! It's slightly different than the 2009 version in this video, but the updates are mostly cosmetic. She's instantly the pride of my collection, and I wasn't even looking for her.
Awesome video great job setting up the figures for reenactment scenes. So many features in the millennium falcon I agree it's definitely a must have .
Thank you for your videos. I find them helpful in my decision making vis a vis toys I am considering purchasing for my collection, you have saved me money by avoiding the less desire able. I also find you entertaining, concise, and intelligent in your reviews. Again thank you.
I'm glad I didn't pass this up the second time around and bought the Vintage TRU repack in 2012. I had the 90s Kenner POTF2 as a kid, but always wanted a Falcon like this.
Nice review. I like that music in the background I think it went well with review. Thanks!
Just picked one of these up a few years back at a antique mall for $50. It had all the missiles and pieces. Super great shape.
this thing is incredible! great review!
Have this Millennium Falcon and it is so sweet! Love it!
This review of this awesome ship/playset simply explain why this is my dream toy.
I’ve had mine ever since release and the aging in the paint makes it look better
I still have mine from when I was like 7 I’m literally looking at it, covered in dust
Who’s here in 2020 and just preordered the newest release from target for $400?! This guy 🤩
Is there a new version of this ship if so what’s it called I would like to purchase
I am getting that for my birthday!!
1:12 that cat just randomly jumps on the chair. Cute kitty!
This video was the reason I got one back in like 2012
You're a great presenter with vivid voice dynamics. Great review.
I own the BMF and a huge SW fan myself! It is a great masterpiece for any collection! Thx PixelDan!
Yeah, when I first saw this, it was at Walmart on end cap for $160, I think. I kept watching for the price to drop and finally picked it up for a little under $100 on sale. Was afraid if I waited for a huge drop, I'd lose out. I had no idea that the original price was actually a bargain compared to today. Wish I would have bought 2 just in case. ;) Now, Hasbro wants us to fork over $150 for vehicles that don't have any sound or light features at all. That's highway robbery, if you ask me.
I can’t believe this piece now costs over 600 to 700 dollars, when it was release it’s costed over 100 dollars, it’s crazy but worth it !!!!!
Bro great videos! Is this the 95 MF? I'm new to collecting just trying to add to my power of the force collection! Keep it up and any advice to collecting starters figures would be greatly appreciated!
I was oblivious to this thing until I saw it in store. I hadn't really collected for over 20 years, but I knew I had to have it.
Wow! This is one great playset! I remember the original from the 70s. The figures were difficult to fit in the cockpit and gunners seat. I broke the ramp. Loved it anyway! But this one is amazing! Four figures in the cockpit! The sounds and lights! The extra space!. Don't care for the escape pod as it isn't in the movie. But overall, I"d love to have it!
“Look at the size of that thing!” “Cut the chatter Red Two!”
10 years!! 🙀
this is a blast from my past
I got that Falcon back in 2009, still have it, all packed away in it's original box.
imperial cat in the background
Where did you find this?? It looks amazing and I love Star Wars you HAVE
To tell me where you got this can you give me the link??
Way far better than the force awakens!
I'm waiting on the Episode VII re-release of this thing, which we all KNOW is coming! It'll probably have minimal paint differences, but more importantly, it'll ACTUALLY be in stores! I never saw this in stores during its previous release, so I'll definitely be picking it up then along with what I'm sure will be tons of other new and cool vehicles and figures. Great review!
Wat year is this one I have the 1979 one bit this one looks awesome
Fantastic video
Damn, that thing looks AMAZING! Probably crazy expensive too...
Just wow!
HalfBlindGamer
yeah.. I wished I'd bought one then. price now is outrageous..
Jekris Certeza this goes for £650 -£800 brand new.... Yikes, I think you’ll pick one up on eBay for £350 tho. Very expensive.
I had the best Star Wars Christmas when I got the voice activated R2D2 and this Millenium Falcon, as well as the rest of the figures I wanted :)
This is pretty much my dream SW toy.
Hi,
I'm Walter from Rome. Congratulations on the review. Could you tell me where is the compartment for batteries of the Millenium Falcon? I no longer remember !. Thank you.
Is this the 2008 model?
with the 240p, i realize why he's called Pixel Dan
I still have my falcon toy from 1978 or 79, can’t remember when I got it, it’s been a while. It’s a little beat up, missing a lot of pieces.
I just got this at a toy fair for $80 brand new! So happy. A local store had it for $300.
I got this for Christmas a few years ago along with the AT-TE which I remember those were two largest vehicles on the market that year and I still have them in tact except one of the projectiles on the AT-TE which stills fire but is a little chewed up thanks to my puppy Dino but I still love him
If you look there is an obi wan and luke figure what series is it from the legacy? vintage?
I'm in the process of clearing out some old collectibles, need room for new ones, and just dug out my millennium falcon from the mid 90's (complete with box) and I'm still pleased with it. it looks like the falcon should ,I.e used, and all the sound effects still work!!. and honestly stickers instead of light effects as this one has doesn't really bother me, im lucky enough to have been around in the early 80's to get original toys (long tragic story of what happened to those) so anythings better than what we got then lol. These days I just collect the six inch Black Series figures, wish they would do a M F for that!!
xneverwalkalonex black series M F would be hilariously expensive lol
How do you change the batteries? I was just given one for my son and the batteries are flat
That's a pretty kick ass toy there!
a wonderful toy!!. i have no words to express my feelings about it!!. simply, awesome!!.
Bought one lightly used complete in the box today at a yard sale for $15.very cool.
4:37 Old habits... I always try to open it at the rear, like the vintage Falcon! ;)
How the heck do I remove the two large front pieces of the ship to put it back in the box?
that review is just../. fantastic.
Bought one of these at a garage sale for $10.....where's the battery compartment? Thx
Hi Dan, could you tell me which Falcon you have? I have one but it doesn't have all the features that yours has. I have The Original Trilogy Collection one, boring compared to yours. What would be the price range of yours? Thanks!
Bought one used how much did they sell for new?
I just purchased this same model on E-bay for 450.00 New. But i feel it well worth it, I saw it for 500.00 and up. This to me is by far still the best version to date. This is a vehicle that I've been wanting to have but I wanted the most movie accurate. I think this one is it. I'm cheesing so hard right knowing that I will be adding this to my collection. Thank you for this review I based my purchase off of it.
My absolute favorite and well worth the $150 dollars I spent. I would love to see the Blockade Runner done in this scale. Hurry up Hasbro!
this is the most awesome and beautiful plastic piece i've ever seen.
When was this made ?
no way! so awesome!! i had the 1995 version as a kid! man this totally beats that though!!!
That's a nice representation of the original. I have the original, now I'm jealous, that one looks better.
Does it have a ventral gun?
You guys are gonna kill me but that was my Christmas gift as a child the first year it came out
AMEN! I totally agree if you're a Star wars fan you have to get it! - gabkillier00
Wow! That is so cool!
How does the box look like.
were wood i get one now?
Does it have the mini gun that drops down from the bottom? Like the one that shoots Snowtroopers in The Empire Strikes back?
This is SO AMAZING! :P
Great vid. Thanks
I have the ESB one from 1980. Wish I had one in box from the original film.
I just bought one!!!! 🤑
Lol the cat wanted to see it and be in the video
Thanks for the video
Yooooo I used to have that. Damn that was such a long time ago
love the falcon
I was so happy when this came out...i had bought it for over a $100 bucks....took it home, opened it and put my old 1998 POTF crappy old falcon in the box and returned it back at ToysRus for a return...pretty much i got it kinda for free really!!!
Yes, it did. That's the default sound it makes when you first turn on the power, and press the "engine sounds" button.
do you know the year this was released in?
i have this toy but idk where i put it :(
what colour is the box
Cat is cute. He wants to play too.
@Mandalorian30 where did you get it
Wow! Best Star Wars toy ever!
I don't know about Switzerland, but in the US you can now find the BMF at Toys R' Us.
I agree!!!! It's AWSOME!!!!
I have them both as well. And I love them :)
Does Luke and Obi-wan come with this if not how do you get them
Wish I still had this. Thoughts crossed my mind, why haven’t they rereleased this for the current trilogy, maybe have it under the Black Series label? It would be so cool if they’d just rerelease this again.
Christolclear101
At the price point MSRP of $399
Hasbro has said that they would like to re-release it again.
But due to the cost increase of materials, it's just not possible.
Paul B
I don’t see how they couldn’t. They could appeal to a much larger group of their fan base. Considering that they were charging a suggested retail of $249 for the AT-ACT for Rogue One, and $199 for The Force Awakens Millennium Falcon, it shouldn’t be all that difficult, not to mention that there are collectors who are willing to pay $399 and more for this particular version of the Millennium Falcon, second hand, their argument doesn’t doesn’t make a whole lot of sense. Put it under the Black Series banner, add the option of either a circular or rectangular dish, maybe the addition of dialogue from TFA, and this would be a big hit among the collectors.
Christolclear101
Paul Harrison from Jedi Temple Archives has talked to them about re-relesasing it.
That's what they told him in an interview
I need this
Two man crew and one escape pod. Nice.
I got this for Christmas when I was 7 years old, i remember walking into the living room at like 4 AM and seeing it and how excited I was, ah memories..
Wow!!! I got the VERY FIRST Millennium Falcon when I was about that age.... back in like 1982.....
That may not have been the original if you got it in 82; I got my mine for Christmas in the late 70's
