Whenever I see a TAS of this game, and they get to fight E. Honda, I always look to see if Honda loses by sumo rules (hits the ground first or steps out of the ring). I figure that would add an extra level of entertainment. Good to see that Akuma manages this instead of resorting to opening him up with a crouching kick!
1:45 double air fireball combo: the game's combo counter miscounted it as 6 hits when it was, in fact, 7. It does it again when another air fireball pair hits and it should have been a 5 hit combo but it counts as 4. Never knew this was a thing.
The way Akuma jumped out of the shadows to take out M Bison with the Raging demon and how easily he ripped apart the ship whilt underwear with one move in street fighter 3rd strike, shows how powerful he is.
Two takeaways from this: 1) 16-hitter on Sagat? I didn't even think that was possible in SF2. I know Sagat's height plays a role in that, but man... 2) I love how he keeps jumping Ryu's standing uppercuts. "Na na na na, you can't hit me."
Yeah I always heard that the absolute limit for combos was 15 hits. At least in Super SF2 Turbo. This is hyper sf2 so it's a bit different than that version. Also Shin Akuma has insane combo potential so I don't know that it really breaks the limit. He's not your conventional fighter.
Sure you can but majorty of it is not humanly possible. Its a TAS tool assisted speedrun. The guy gets to control what akuma dose on each frame or second or something. For example he can make akuma do frame perfect hurricane kicks and teleports even though its probably impossible for a human to do

With that being said, after watching your videos along with playing "Shin Gouki" it appears this is really only regular Gouki with two air fireballs and nothing more. I'm not sure if it's because this is Hyper Street Fighter 2 and not SSF2T or because it was just a hack to add another air fireball to Gouki. The CPU Akuma from this game or as we know it "Shin Gouki" has many differences from regular Gouki that you can pick in the game with the code. These differences are listed on the Wiki Shoryuken. Some big differences, including many others, are 4 and 5 spins for medium and hard tatsus respectively, this "Shin" version still has 2 and 3, Gou Hadouken does 2X or more damage than regular Gouki (this one does the same amount), Ashura Warp has no recovery (this one still does), Gou Shoryuken does much more damage (this one is the same damage) and many other smaller frame data including better recovery on both regular and red fireballs. So my question is, what is this Gouki? The real Shin Gouki is only a boss character and is also playable in dreamcast version of SSF2X For Matching Service (Also Tien Gouki with super meter). Was this just a hacked Gouki with double air fireball or is HSF2 different? Thank you.
How did you get Akuma to throw 2 air fireballs? From what I remember, those who choose Akuma can only throw 1 air fireball while the computer can throw 2.
