@@Squibscirus depends on the Disney movie: who has the I.P. of Toy Story said that it is canon for them Sora meeting the gang between movie 1 and 2. On the other side we have Frozen, who is very strict: they didn't allow Square to use their models, so they had to recreate and submit them until final approval (plus there are theories of the plot in that world to have been completely modified and arranged last minute)
I can understand Donald and Goofy not being in Smash because of disney, but I'm sad that Kairi was so left out. I really thought his final smash would have something to do with her. One Heart from Re:Mind seemed perfect.
All KH characters are disney characters, including Kairi. I feel that the handshake at the end of the trailer means more KH characters/disney characters may come in future smash games

At the end of 2.8, we see him come back and Donald & Goofy ask him about where he went, what he did, and say he was gone a long time. Sora says "It's a secret!" In the Smash gameplay, they don't use his voice from KH 3, but rather his voice from KH: 3D... What if the realm of Smash Bros is a Sleeping World in the world of Kingdom Hearts??

If Nomura has a strong connection to Disney, we are close to having Sora, Mario, Wolverine, and Buzz Lightyear fighting against Sephiroth, Zurg and Thanos in Springfield
I mean if you really think about it and what new lore has been introduced in MoM, any world or universe could technically be connected to Kingdom Hearts, currently the series is at a stage with infinite possibilities
Ties in with the fictional video game world of quadratum/shibuya, fascinating af. Hope this next game has a bigger focus on final fantasy worlds/characters than Disney since kh3 was basically all Disney until remind
