I see plenty of pre-2012 behaviour to consider the term old firm as descriptor of a game that can also be called correctly the glasgow derby. It's only words, meaningless words, it's the actions that count and whether we like it or not Old Firm actions are alive and well and have been since 2017.
I wish fans would grow up, it IS still the Old Firm otherwise it wouldn't mean so much to beat them!

I still feel the same emotion and passion for the glasgow derby now as i did for the old firm pre 2012.
But to still call it the old firm is a branch of the continuation lie. Old rangers died with 54 titles. New rangers (sevco if want ... but i think thats petty 😂) have 1 title. And the old firm involved old rangers and cannot involve the new club.
So even though i feel the same feelings for the games between us and the club from ibrox, it's just not the old firm any more.
Everyone can have their opinions though.

You want some project players from the academy. Remember a lot of what got us over the line this season was having a fan as manager, and fans in the playing staff. Goes a very long way at our club, a unique proposition we should make more of vis a vis other clubs having to spend and not get close to that kind of passion.

Turned it off as soon as the "old firm" was mentioned. We "peddle it" because it's worth money, but the club don't promote it. Old firm ended years ago when it was no longer a 50/50 to see who wins the league. It's now massively in our favour. That mob milk it cause it's one of their last straws to stay relevant! We need ***real*** UCL experience, specifically players who will get a goal or assist against quality opposition. For Celtic in 2024 this means signing players who are past their peak on 3-4 year deals. If we made exceptions in the wage structure, specifically for UCL veterans, these are doable transfers:
10-15m would get us Steven Berghuis. 32, unsettled and has had a few truly vintage seasons. Has played twice as many European games as Joe Hart.
10-15m for Arkadiusz Milik. 31, left-footed striker who is very good in the air, can also play on both wings. Has just had a poor season in Turin. Similar to Beghuis his experience dwarves our entire squad, has scored against the very best. 26 goals in 60 European games.

The Old Firm is a generational bit of semiotics. If you were over 40 when Rangers went bust it’s quite simply difficult to change those words from what you’ve always known. Trust me it doesn’t mean you are less of a Celtic fan by using those words.

thank you to Brendan Rodgers for us winning and retaining the title, am delighted celtic supporter and am going to title party Tomorrow, once the season officially over and scottish cup finished, we got to look at the bigger picture for next season and Desmond needs to decide to Brenda Rodgers future, because our season overall was very poor, the title went to the wire with a awful Rangers side, because we lack consistent, good performances, players under performance which cost us to lose 8 point gap, our football is rubbish to watch, KYOGO doesn't suit Rodgers system, Brendan Rodgers is a good manager, unfortunately he is not this at Celtic in his second spell and desmond got a big decision to make for next season because the cracks are their under rodgers management, thankfully we got luck because Rangers as martin o'neil quota are very poor side
How can you say Brendan isn't the man for the job FFS. We finished the season on fire because our star performers were all fit and firing, Calmac, CCV, Hetate etc. We've been hampered with injuries and a board who never backed their manager. Brendan has dug deep when it mattered, regardless of how poor you think Rangers are. If the manager gets backed this summer, this Celtic team will be untouchable 🍀 ps enjoy trophy day and watching us lift the league again, these are great times being a Celtic fan 👍🍀

We struggled to beat a 10 man Hun side at home the week before, camped out in our own box for the last 20 minutes ffs. It’s been a truly woeful season on the eye and an even more stressful one on the heart and mind, week after week, without fail. For context, we were up against, arguably, the worst Hun side in recent memory. So why hyperbolic sense of immense achievement and pride here? I guess this is once again another sad indictment of how far we’ve fallen from the level and style of Football played under Ange, when we regard Rodgers mediocrity as suddenly being wonderful, all because we get over the line. Furthermore, another season with him at the helm, will see us utterly embarrassed in Europe again. For the record, he has the worst European record of any manager in our history.

The Celtic Academy is a waste of money! Hardly any players coming through! There should be 2 or 3 players every season that make the step up but you’re lucky if it’s 1 every other season! The last time Celtic produced a top level striker was Charlie Nicholas back in the 80’s! 🤯
Very shortly, more money will be spent on developing the Women’s team than our own academy. All in keeping with the forced Woke agenda. I even say that as a fan of the Women’s team.
Scotland produced its best talent when socially times were hard and jobs scant. The drive to lift yourself out of dire poverty was a contributing factor for many players driving themselves to the limit to succeed in this game. In places like Brazil, Argentina and the African nations this reality is especially prominent.
60 years a supporter of my team but really shouldn't be gloating. Yes enjoy everyone of our league wins but don't forget we were close to going out of business as well. We need them as much as we need us.

It never fails to amaze me how any Celtic fan can get so triggered after being ‘satirically’ called-out for calling it the Old Firm, which is a factually incorrect term.
I see this same cognitive dissonance a lot with our support when ‘Derby Day’ rolls round. It’s as if they need to convince themselves Rangers still exist in order to relive the old memories about the glory days in a desperate attempt to bring them back.
