My blue one, Skye is about 10 yrs. Old. Sadly, some blues have feather issues. Maybe genetic? He's a toughie though. Can talk well. If u don't get another bird. He loves to hear other Parrotlets💕
If you'd like for the parrotlet to play with you more, I would recommend just getting one. If you're busy then I would suggest getting two parrotlets, so they can spend time with each other when you're away. But, they might be more focused on playing with each other more though.
Male parrotlets can be very territorial. If you get a male and female they will mate. Mating often is unhealthy for the birds, so it is up to what you'd like.
It's absolutely necessary to get two, male and female. Keeping them alone is torture and some birds develop severe psychoses. If you want to try and tame them, get younger birds. Don't clip their wings, don't put them in a harness. Mating is not unhealthy but natural and actually a sign of good health, as they won't try mating if one of the partners isn't in good shape. They won't breed if you don't offer them a nesting box.
@@shhhhhsh strong OPINIONS i have one parrotlet and hes not stressed or psychotic lmao quit parroting what you read online as long as the bird gets enough attention theyre fine and laying eggs and breeding is actually very stressful for female birds and comes with alot of potential complications lord almighty your self righteous ignorance is crazy
@@shhhhhsh yikes, wrong. I have a single quaker parrot and he's completely fine being alone and does not have psychoses, I play with him usually but when I don't he has tons of things he can do. I agree with the clipping wings, you really shouldn't but putting a harness is entirely fine if you train them nicely. Also yes, it is easily to tame younger birds but getting an old bird, such as in adoption etc works too, it'll just take more time and patience, especially if it's a trauma bird. Half of your information is wrong and I don't think you should be giving out information to people when you clearly don't know what you're talking about.

I’m thinking about getting parrotlet. Do you think one or two would be better?
