Minimalist paradigm is becoming more and more important each year. Thinking of downsizing homes again, now that our girls are mostly not in their rooms. Eating less food and higher quality, plants only, less processed. Going barefoot as often as possible and wearing exclusively minimalist, truly minimalist shoes, sandals and boots from XERO SHOES. Mostly Xero, most of the time, proud affiliate. #paidxeropartner learn more at: www.XEROSHOES.com/go/randy_kreill
Helpful insights from your experience, thanks for sharing
I've poked my feet with poles before too😉 Hadn't ever considered just one, thanks! 👍
I use a broom handle. The heft is perfect for balance when running. Has a spear like feel to it. The symmetry lends it to left hand or right use. Can’t say I’ve run more than ten miles with it though. Heavy replacement broom handles are under $10. Haven’t broken one yet.
that's awesome!! I like the cork for 100 milers that can last over 37 hours and get quite cold ... wooden/cork handles feel better on the skin IMO
I just use a bamboo stick with a rubber cap. 150grams and nothing to go wrong.
On steeper or longer climbs do you keep the pole on the same side or are you switching it up from side to side on the way up? Or are you not using them to really aid on the uphill?
Oh, forgot to mention that I rotate them from side to side to try and even the work load and not favor the left or right. I’m right handed. The one pole is still a modest assist for climbing But I try to use Danny Dreyer’s Chi running techniques for climbing. Using technique more than upper body strength.
