    great video. it takes time to kill bacteria and viruses which is why the 20+ seconds of washing is so important!

      Yes, but like he said, it takes minutes...not seconds...to kill viruses. The point of hand washing, I believe, is to get viruses and bacteria off the skin. The more you rub the soap on the skin and rinse, the more microbes you get off the skin.

      @@scootermom1791 That's correct. Handwashing doesn't "kill" viruses. It removes them from your hands by rinsing them away...hopefully 🙂

    can you do a seriers on explaining what chemical do what and its properties such that we can have a better understanding or expected performance from the cleaning product(s) what i/we are about to purchase/ purchased. that will be much more useful. (not saying this series is not useful, this series is still extremely useful).

    Interesting. So hand sanitizer doesn't do anything for the coronavirus. Or, the flu...at least not the viral strain. But, rubbing alcohol, at least, kills both bacteria and viruses. I'm guessing other alcohols do, too. So, why isn't it called "hand disinfectant" instead of "hand sanitizer?" I wonder if it has to do with how long it takes to kill viruses: even though alcohol is a disinfectant, they can't legally say it disinfects (aka kills both V and B) because it dries so quickly. What do you think?

    I was literally thinking about this issue yesterday and wanted to ask you about all of it!! I saw this all natural/ all in one fancy pants product. I went to their page and looked at their faqs. They said that their products does not sanitize or disinfect, it doesn’t kill the the germs. But it removes the germs and that removing the germs is just as good if not better because then the bacteria and viruses don’t mutate and become resistant. Just removing the germs and not killing the germs- especially in the bathroom & kitchen- is kind of weirding me out. They said if you want to naturally disinfect to use hydrogen peroxide & vinegar - separately. Cleaning is so complex 😣

    • @CleanWithConfidence
      @CleanWithConfidence  Před 3 lety +1

      If you want to sanitize and disinfect properly I would stick to stuff that is regulated by the EPA. The all natural stuff wouldn't pass the EPA's thorough testing. The reason they are making a case for "removal" vs "killing" is because it's against the law for them to make kill claims without an EPA certification and.... they need a product to sell. Hydrogen peroxide or vinegar won't come anywhere close to being as effective as good old fashioned bleach.

      @@CleanWithConfidence I’m glad to hear you say that, about the bleach and regular cleaning products vs the fancy pants all natural ones. Id rather use a product I know can do the job I want it to. I will say I’ve found a great stinky bathroom/body fluids product! Nature’s Miracle! It’s that enzyme stuff you buy for when your pet has an accident. I have little boys and when their bathroom is smelling funky I spray around their toilet, let it sit for a few minutes, and wipe it up and it really gets the odor! Once my son threw up on his racecar bed and it got on the wall and carpet and all these crevices. Let me tell you, I opened the windows and sprayed everything down with nature’s miracle and his room did not smell like vomit at all! It’s also amazing with dishes or around the stove! It loosens up dried or baked on food like it’s nothing!
      Your channel has been super helpful to me! Whenever I have a question I look through your videos and often times you’ve already made a video on the topic! My husband has some of that blue tack stuff and I used it on our earbuds- amazing how much gunk came out! I’ve cleaned my dishwasher filter and my parent’s dishwasher filter! I got that green stuff to get all that yucky sludge out of our jetted tub pipes!! I cleaned our tv screen with a slightly damp microfiber cloth rather than windex & a paper towel!

      @@littleblizzard7591 cool I will have to try that product out!! Sometimes I wish I had pets or kids so I had more of the “stinky “ type messes to clean up. And I dont really feel like intentionally missing 🤷‍♂️.
      Thats why I dont talk about odors much on the channel.
      Quick tip since the video library is getting extensive, if there is ever something specifically you are looking for on the channel and dont want to dig through 100 plus videos just go to the youtube search bar, type in “how to clean (whatever) clean with confidence” and the video should pop right up.

      @@CleanWithConfidence thanks for the search tip! So I’ve got that Lume deodorant that freezes the bacteria and makes you not stink- it’s amazing- and their site suggested spraying the armpits and stinky parts of your clothes with Nature’s Miracle because the enzymes eat your stinky residue (I guess you could call it). There is another enzyme cleaner called Biokleen Bac-Out thats works the same way, though I haven’t tried it on pet accidents. (N.M. Is great for stains too! Not sure how but it’s definitely...a miracle!) Again it’s great for stinky bathrooms and messy kitchens and difficult dirty dishes.

    What’s your thought on air purifier

    • @CleanWithConfidence
      @CleanWithConfidence  Před 3 lety +1

      I have been using air purifiers every in my bedroom for over ten years do reduce dust. They dont do anything when it comes to killing viruses though.

    • @scootermom1791
      @scootermom1791 Před 3 lety

      @@CleanWithConfidence so true! People often think air purifiers kill germs. It's been proven scientifically that this isn't the case. It simply reduces dust in the air and keeps it off surfaces which helps prevent allergic reactions from particles in the dust like pollen. As a side note, commercially sold UV lights are also not strong enough to kill microbes, but people are led to believe they are.
