You can't truly understand this song unless you've walked the land he speaks of. Not Disney World, not Miami, not Tampa, not even the places where other people are present. You have to be out in the woods, out in the prairies, out on the river in a kayak/canoe before you can even begin to understand what he speaks of. It humbles you in ways you never thought possible. I traveled the Ocklawaha River recently in my kayak and just hummed this song as I traveled along the banks with the manatees and gators and admired the land that God created and the Creek, Seminoles and Miccosukee adored. It sickens me to watch the greed and carelessness turn what was once beautiful landscapes into concrete nightmares. The lust for the unnatural and manmade is running rampant amongst those who have lost their touch with the natural world.
Yep.
I'm in Seminole Territory right now.
This song is very powerful. I'll Cover it on another channel.
I feel it sitting in the woods. ✌️❤️

I remember being out in the Everglades with some friends when I was about 16 years old (I'm 42 now) and we were just out there doing what any normal 16 yr old rednecks from South Florida tdo (go into the woods/glades) go mudding, exploring, n enjoy the outdoors cause there was no internet on our phones or social media in the 90s. We had a cell phone with us but it was one of those basic ones that didn't even have caller ID on it lol. We were parked somewhere in the glades sitting in the bed of my boys truck listening to a country station drinking beers. The weather was hot n humid with virtually no breeze so it was hot one that day. My boy Justin called up the country station we were listening to and said to the dj that answered" Hey this is Justin, Beau, and Keith and we're out in the Everglades right now can we hear some Seminole Wind by John Anderson?" The dj said sure I'll get it on. The very next song we hear "Hey, this one's going out to Justin, Beau, Keith in the Everglades. Here's Seminole Wind by John Anderson". And at that exact moment the dj said that and the song started to play, a breeze picked up out of nowhere and lasted through the whole song! 😳 We went nuts with excitement from hearing our names on the radio but at the same time we were all were taken back cause of how the wind picked up out of nowhere exactly when the song started to play. It was a powerful moment because we understood the song. That Seminole spirit is out there and it showed us it was real that day! I'll never forget that day and hate what's become of the glades now.😢
So beautiful....what a lovely, clear voice still, just like in the 80s when I first fell in love with John Anderson's music. A true legend, in my opinion!
Dear god what talent. Simply amazing.
Song still gives me goosebumps after 30 years. There will never be another John Anderson
I never get tired of listen to Seminole wind by the amazing John Anderson, him and Merle Haggard have the best voices in countrymusic.
John Anderson has a one of a kind voice. Top notch all the way.
I couldn't hear this comment over the sound of my FREEDOM
@@bmtziii640 well good for you I was listening to his music and I like what's left of my freedom
His voice and this song get better the more the years pass. Thank you for the music.
that voice man still got it
Years ago l reckoned John as the best male country voice living, Lefty had passed. Superb artists, Merle, Ed Bruce, etc have brightened our lives and moved on and thankyou You Tube for keeping them alive.
I would have loved to be apart of the audience to hear this incredible performance. What a voice John has.
Waylon said it best. He sings like he has a foot pedal in his throat ❤
Larry's Country Diner has done tons for traditional Country music.

Absolutely love this song.
What a beautiful voice he still has 👏. We had the pleasure of seeing him about 25 years ago at the St Lucie County Fair in St Lucie County Florida. He put on a wonderful, family fun show. Thank you for sharing this Awesome experience with us. We love John Anderson 👍👍. Stay safe healthy and happy ✝️🇺🇸❤️
Tony's wife here....LOVE John Anderson... Love this song!
My favorite song of all time! I grew up in the swamps that he sings of. The land of the Seminole!
Love this man and song. This perfect song could not have been sung by another like John does. And this jam session shows how just a few instruments and this unchanging voice blows the roof!!
John Anderson kicks all kinds of ass. Freakin' legend.
Ain’t no mistaken JA for any other singer. A professional country singer.
I Love Johns Voice longtime fan
