Mafia: Definitive Edition is a 2020 action-adventure game developed by Hangar 13 and published by 2K Games. It is a remake of the 2002 video game Mafia, and the fourth main installment in the Mafia series. Like the original game, the remake is set within the fictional city of Lost Heaven, Illinois during the 1930s, and follows the rise and fall of Tommy Angelo, a Sicilian-American cab driver-turned-gangster, within the Salieri crime family.
The game's open world nature allows players to explore Lost Heaven at their leisure when not completing missions to advance the narrative. This is mostly done in the Free Ride game mode, where players are not restricted by the linear nature of missions and can find hidden side missions and collectibles exclusive to this mode. The gameplay builds upon 2016's Mafia III, and features enhanced mission dynamics and the introduction of motorcycles to the series. While some of the veteran Czech Mafia voice cast returned for the remake, the English voices were recast. An original score was also created for the game.
The game was released for Microsoft Windows, PlayStation 4, and Xbox One on September 25, 2020, both individually and as part of the Mafia: Trilogy pack, which also includes a remastered version of the second game and a version of the third game comprised with its additional story packs. It received generally favorable reviews from critics, with praise for revitalizing the story, performances, and graphics, yet faced some criticism over its animations.

The ending was one of the best for me, the message Tommy says throughout it is just heartbreaking
The original ending was much better. Much! Not so much dramatic talking, just the silent outplay of what happens and the narrator giving a last remark and quote from the game. The best ending in game history imo.

Absolutely beautiful. Beautiful storyline. Beautiful characters. It felt like I was watching a movie. Unreal. In here he expects the death and welcomed it. In Mafia 2 when we play as Vito he seemed taken by surprise. I like the twist.

I am a big fan of the first version of the lost heaven game. I missed the turn signals in cars, the lights on the streets to stop on red, riding the subway, and that hard sound of shooting guns like the colt 1911, extra missions from Lucas. Too bad they simplified the missions and the real game charm is gone and this is a completely different part of the game. It looks very nice, but it's a pity that it's missing a lot from the original with its great atmosphere.
Also looks and feels lot less realistic. Cant compare to original.
Getting platinum trophy for this game was a nightmare. The racing mission almost made me throw my controller. I am just glad I am done with this game.

I played mafia 2, 2016 I loved it it was my life, I later learned of mafia 3 and my brains almost blew out it was joy over joy because I learned of its release just as I was about to do final chapter mafia ii. But my pc couldn't hold the game the specs were way below the minimum, that's one of my lowest moments in gaming life haven't recovered since. All I do is watch these vids and imagine its me. One day I will play this game MAFIA III ❤️❤️❤️

Mafia 3 was poor. Didn't hook me at all. Play Mafia 1, it was a masterpiece.

I still only tons of PS3/Xbox 360 games. They are some of the best like you’d said. Brilliant stories and gameplay. PS4 and the One had a few but it seemed like there are a 100 of that generation that are legends.
I haven't played this game, I met the story from Mafia II , however, lots of people told me that the first part is a masterpiece by everything, now I understand why did they tell so. I've been watching this letplay in 3 parts, fully satisfied with it. Thanks for the great video and showing awesome story.
it was one of the greteast games to be ever made (majority opinion) mafia 2 is also another master piece. you will surely love both of them.

@@mujtabaraisani Well, Mafia 3 is a another story. It would be fair not to compare storylines of 2 and 3 as ir shows another period, characters, vibes and plot itself. Speaking about bugs and glitches yes, car driving mechanics yes, firing yes. Maybe in 3rd there wasn't shown an emotional connection with main protagonist as we had with Tommy or Joe B. previously.
This is a Marvelous game, like the OP says, i hate that its not 60fps on the PS5 so i got it on PC to achieve the 60+..Love this game, one of my favorites, the acting and voice work is top notch the visuals since the since the remake fucking great...great story too, its so believable. Great Video also...

@@polarworthamillion5198 yes you can say that, fitting 60frames in 1 sec versus 30 frames in 1sec is a big difference. It’s a smoother and more fluid picture.

Because it was pretty damn realistic. How many of us have grandpas who fought in the war and were huge bigger than life persons? One can relate to that. Its not a GTA San Andreas. This felt real.

The game play and dialog are incredible, The lack of streetlights, blinkers, and the character movements aside. I wish it was more of the "full game" and not a speed run. I can barely pause quick enough to read any of the letters and notes found. Their not super relevant or necessary but it adds to the lure of the game.

The original score of this game must be the original score of the whole series. Although it is a short game and its world is not big and not as lively as Rockstar games, but for me and for a lot of people, it’s the best game outta 3 games of #Mafia. We all are waiting for #Mafia4, we wish it’ll be bigger and lively like Rockstar Games. Most importantly, with the original score of #MafiaDefinitiveEdition.🔥
No games will compare to the depth Of Rockstar games because A.) they have the most expiernece with it. B.) they have 6x’s the budget of most AAA games and C.) They will work on a game 10 years to make sure it’s perfect if needed and most gaming publishers won’t wait that long.

5 odd hours is by no means short. Your benchmark on open world games seems a bit off considering there's no pointless fluff bs padding out an otherwise perfect game. It isn't 2010's anymore and open world games aren't impressive basesd on hows pointlesslybig they make the map. Even now, there's ares very fews open world games that get it right and I'd much rather a game not out stay it's welcome nor coast on a shitty online mode for 3 generations. To reiterate, there's nothing wrong with a no bs games that gets to the point and plays to it's strengths. The comparison to rockstar is nonsense and they ares quite honestly out of touch these days, only caring about how to best milk an existing IP. So, in summary, despite being incomparable, I'd takes this over the same-y shit of rockstar any day. Lest we also not forget how's dirty they did RDR2.

I have played it several times in 2001 and since, then I have played the remade version and here I am again: watching someone else play it and still having a ball.
PS there are only 2 things they messed up in the remake: the shooting is half the fun it was in the original and Paulie who used to be a fair and decent character.

It is now slowly and unresponsive compared to the original.
And the aiming was easier but that could maybe be improved with choosing a different aim marker.

I mean Mafia Definitive Edition sucked ass though. 60% of the original game plot was deleted and the gameplay is indistinguishable from Mafia 3(but more unplayable). Also the game didn't feature open world even though the old game had an open world. The game is so buggy and glitchy. Truly a rushed piece of shit
I had this game on series x I looked just like this the truth is it doesn't matter what system you play it on as long as you have a 4k TV there's no difference.

La verdad es que no noto una diferencia en gráficos tan abismal a la PS3 i PS4... Algo mejor de fluidez si tiene, pero vamos... Que no es para tanto en este juego
La diferencia es que cambian algunas tonalidades de las animaciones, las caras y algo del ambiente (que de por si el de ps3 era bastante bueno.) Y el de ps4 tiene mejoras en los rostros na mas eso con algunos bug agregados xd
