My buddy went to Cole High School with Shaq in San Antonio and has every one of these cards plus a binder of tons of inserts from that era. He also has photos taken at the games with inscriptions from Shaq written on the back. My buddy used to catch rides with Shaq’s mom to the games and sit with her and chat. Shaq and his mom are great people and always nice to my buddy Daniel.

Great video, thank you. You forgot about one the most expensive psa 10 shaqs that are out there. His 1992 Upper Deck MVP Hologram goes for about $1,500 on average for a gem mint copy. It's his most underrated card.

I had my card store in 92 in Manhattan I've been joking since 92 that Shaquille O'Neal paid my rent for 6 months back then. They were on average $20 out-of-the-box for every brand for the base cards I had 100 count plastic box filled with nothing but Shaquille O'Neal rookies I moved to Florida and 93 put everything in storage. Got divorced the next year and left them all there and that was just the O'Neill part of my collection
I remember being in the baseball shop and Shaq was the big card everybody was looking for. I think the year was 1993. I bought a bunch of stadium club packs and opened them right in the store. The first packed I opened was a Shaq beam team. Jordan was still huge too but i was just so happy. 😅. Never pulled a Jordan out of that pack but got a David Robinson beam team. It's crazy because that Shaq beam team was worth about $200. And this was 1993. Cards were a big deal back then. Today you can get Shaq rookie cards for a few dollars unless you got them graded in a psa 10. Thanks for the video 😊

February of 2021 was a busy month for buying graded Shaq rookies.
Hi my son has the 92-93 Shaq rookie Fleer card. It was signed by Shaq at the Block Buster Awards because I was his escort and he signed it at the end as a favor to me. It is in excellent shape and kept in a sovereign card plastic case. We want to sell where should we take to get authentic grading with our verifiable Provence with his original signature? Appreciate your reply.

Holy crap!! I have the classic four sport shaq signed . I have the four sport box set, the golds signed, etc It's got like Alonzo, Roman hamrlik. Brian Taylor (I actually forget who's in that set, going to have to take a look) .. I have a crap ton of shaq rookie stuff that I got way back then and the signed gold set is unopened in it's wooden box blah blah blah. ... Crap, I have to get all this stuff graded I guess.. I decided to check CZcams and see if there's any real good value to this stuff because it's been tucked away for years and years

I've got a question that you or hopefully anyone with definite knowledge of the subject matter, could answer for me. I've been looking on ebay at the 1993-94 classic metal edge 20 card set in collectors tin. Lots of sellers are saying factory sealed but several definitely don't look like anything a factory would do. So my question is, does anyone know what the factory plastic seal on the tin really looks like and can u provide some pictures? I'm still searching the internet trying to find my answer but since Classic folded back then and were absorbed into scoreboard which went bankrupt, I can't go to the source

Yah, the classic auto variations are either 1 or 2.
I ranked these by highest recorded sale. That card should definitely be number 2 or possibly at number one above the beam team. If I remember right, I could only find a psa or bgs 8 comp that was pretty old and was around $1,700. That is definitely one of if not his "most valuable" rookie cards but I could not find any other comps for it. Appreciate you watching and have a great weekend John!

I have most of these cards in exellent condition. Where do I start to get them graded.
I would start by learning how cards are graded first. Even a card that was pulled fresh from a pack can be knocked down to a 7 or 8 on centering alone. If you have a local card shop, often times they are a group submitter for grading companies and can help you with the grading process. My email is in the description of this video. Now your talking my stash. I got over half of the cards on this top 25. Because I unfortunately did most of my collecting during the junk wax era. I do have to disagree with Guy below though. Has nothing to do with race. Has to do with how many were made. Look at Patrick Mahomes, Lebron James. Kobe. Jordan, etc…..none of them are white and they demand some outrageous prices. Everyone is entitled to an opinion though. Great vid, Steve!

Hey Jake, I remember researching that one. I don't know how I missed it. The record sale I found was $360, which would have put it at number 24 on the list. I'm not sure what the pull rate was for those inserts. That probably has a lot to do with it not being as rare, like the Beam Team inserts. upper deck jumbo packs have 1 rookie standouts per pack. That's why cards are down.

I have a Shaquille O’Neal rookie card exactly like the #442 except it’s got blue instead of gold where shaq name is. I cannot find anything on it. Except for a scammer trying to sell on eBay for 15M. Can you tell me anything about it.
Are you referring to the 1992-93 Hoops Shaq # 442 ? If so I've never seen the variation to be honest
Why most of those cards you can find them in mint conditions in Ebay for less that $10USD? is because PSA grade few in 10 even that they look exactly the same as not graded?

Dang I have the gold card in mint condition. Traded an old game boy for it when I was in middle school. Also have the classic rookie. Bought the entire set. Paid like 30 bucks I believe. Also mint. Had no idea they were worth this much.

Those prices do not reflect current market by a LONG shot. I find it odd the video is pulling data from 2/21 and you posted on 10/29/21. NONE of those prices are correct. Maybe a few random sales but nowhere near correct.
Most of the record sales were in February, but the average sell price now is much lower.

@@acesontilt77 he says record sale of a card was that, with some being will over a year old.. His average price is current though. Guessing using the last 10 recorded sales. When a record sale is 5k but he says the average a psa 10 will run you 1500, that's recent sales.

It's actually pretty sad to think how little these cards are worth considering how important the player is and was to the game.. and I know this isn't a popular opinion, but I bet if he was white, his cards would be worth a fortune!
yes cause kobe, jordan, etc arent worth crap either but john stockton cards are selling for millions. I admire shaq for his attitude and life after playing ball. but he couldnt shoot free throws. he was just a big rebounder or low dunker. yes he helped teams tremendously through those roles plus blocking shots. but the card value is more supply/demand. 100,000 of some these cards were made and thanks to ebay its easy to find hundreds. everyone is trying to sell or flip for side cash and not many are buying to collect long term. has nothing to do with race. 100% market driven. if everyone would stop selling them then yeah itll be harder to find and someone will pay more then. just like if hospitals were as plentiful as mcdonalds around town health care prices would be cheaper.
