- Unveiling my latest DIY project, The BBQ Pod is my outdoor kitchen, created with Fence post and structural timber. Inside is cladded in reclaimed wooden pallets for a rustic look and outside is cladded in composite cladding materials for a modern look. The door lifts us using hydraulic gas piston which allows the door to be effortlessly lifted and closed. Hope you enjoy the video
I love seeing how happy and proud people are when they build and accomplish something.
That's incredible. I like how the door motion is that way and not like a retractable garage door. Awesome.
THIS IS FANTASTIC
Really well done! Thank you for sharing
Nice one brother.. plenty Suya on that grill

Looks really good! Though would have loved to see you making it.
I know right! I didn't take a video as I worked on it bit by bit over several weekends. I do have a slide show of the various stages where I took pictures.
@@josoye6596 I am interested in making something similar myself when the weather improves. Have you got any hints/ tips you could share with me? And was there anything you would do differently if you did it again ?
I've uploaded a slide show of the building process. I hope it help. Good luck
Love it Jo… make sure we are invited to the BBQ
Most definitely
Omg, this is awsome, i love the up and over mechanism. I noticed your plaque says Crawley , i live in Crawley too, can we hook up, as i would love to build the same project in my back garden too
Hiya, yes I am in based in Crawley, Northgate area. Where in Crawley are you?
Hi Joseph, this is awesome. I would really like to build something like this. Do you have the plans at all please ?
This is great..... what hinges did you use for the door?
Hi Joseph, I love this. Do you have plans available yet?
Beautiful ❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤. The CZcams channel I need
I really like the idea of the door as it also provides shelter, what sort of cost would you estimate the finished pod at for all the materials, I would like something as nice as that myself. I live in a very widy area and like to BBQ 52 weeks a year so this would be ideal
@@SeanByrne-vo1kf Thank you. The materials probably cost between 2k to 3k
Nice
This is incredible. What is that cladding? I really like it! Great job.
It's called Coastline composite from Eurocell
Hi mate can I please ask what type of hinges and spring you used many thanks and where to buy them from
Looks awesome Joseph👏👏 Was it easy to do the hydraulic door lift. Where did you get those pls? Looks very doable but weight and size of door a worry for my diy skills😅
Any idea where can i find the door made out of aluminum or galvanized?
Amazing job! Do you have some details on the gas studs you used?
I got them off ebay. It's called Autorce 1 meter length. I went for 1500N to support the weight of my door
WOW, This is exactly what I want to build. I'm going to pull grills out. Where are you located?
I'm in West Sussex, UK
Please share some details about power to bbq station please
Hi my friend. My name is Charles and i‘m living in Luxembourg. I‘m intressted in the making of the door you made with the gas piston. Could you help, how I could realise this door. Thanks
How to build the tilted door?
Amazing Build, do you have any plans for this. Would love to create something similar.
I have made a slide show of the process. Hopefully that will help. Good luck
@@josoye6596 where's the slide show?
@@crewisrad check my other videos
Building something similar myself, how is the door hinged please?
I use solid steel rod on both sides
Hi Josoye, I am looking to build something similar myself. Can you tell me where you bought the struts for the door from?

where did you get the pistons for the door?
I got them from ebay they are 1m long, 1500N
How can I get plans for this?
Wow, so cool. Which hydraulic gas piston are you using?
Thanks. I used a 1 meter piston with 1500N force. One on each side
@@josoye6596 Great! Thanks a lot. Do you have any idea how much weight they can handle?
@@grillingwithberkhof Not sure really. I started with 2000N but it was too hard, then went down to 1750N, still too much force required to close. I finally settled for 1500N which is just enough to hold the door open and doesn't require too much force to close. The Force required will depend on the weight of your door based on your construction method.
Thanks a lot. I will continue with getting everything together. May I ask what the sizes are? Hight, widt and length of your amazing bbq area?
@@grillingwithberkhof Outside width is 3m, depth is 1.2m, height is 2.4m at the front and 2.1m at the back. Good luck with your build. Let me know if you have any further questions.
Where did you get the shocks to hold up the door

What sizes and Newton's did you use please?
@@Matt-wf7uj 1500N. I had to try different ones to complement the weight of the door.
@@josoye6596 thanks for the info and the link! Planning to build something similar. What are the dimensions of your door? And do you know the weight maybe? Not sure I'll be able to try different sizes so I want to pick the right ones :)
What size are the gas arms?
1 meter length, 1500N
