Sam Casell has paid his dues as a bench coach. As a long time Laker fan I have no problem with him as head coach. Given the other names out there. I’m sure Redick is a very smart guy. I’m sure he’ll get his opportunity someday. But Sam should be on every GM’s list with an open coaching spot.

The Lakers job is a big ask for a first time coach.
Lebron fans complain that Lebron have a lack of hall of fame coach in his playing career, but he left miami and spo and he left ty lue in cleveland. Fact of the matter is, lebron doesnt want a hall of fame coach because he wants control and doesnt want to be held accountable. Thats why he signs of these 1st year or less successful coaches so that he can take all the credit when they win and have a scapegoat when they lose.
He won championships for both coaches….& they never won without him….let that sink lol….he left Miami to win his hometown a championship….but their really not too many HOF coaches left in NBA…Spurs Pop about it

Stephen A used Big Perk to say what he wanted to say which is Give Sam Cassel the job because JJ ain’t “paid his dues” and I LOVE Sam Cassel since I was a kid watching him grow up. But JJ is tapped into the new age basketball philosophy. It’s hard because I think JJ has what it takes when it comes to X’s and O’s but I’m not sure he can take control of a Lockeroom with Veteran players. They should hire them Both and let Sam Cassel be the head coach and teach JJ the ropes and ingratiate him with the Lockeroom ease him into it.

I don’t think the Lakers will pay up for JJ even if were interested. I think JJ would be willing to coach, but not for a team set up to fail. If Lebron was 30 he would jump at the chance.

Ask yourself this question: do you see JJ Redick patrolling the sideline for the next 10 years or he'll get back to full-time commentator at some point?
