Deni is one of the most underrated players in the league wtf are Wizards doing??
Yeah he had a really nice quiet season. A small bright spot for a team in the shadows.
Shit crazy i would of never thought deni would be gone before Kyle kuzma crazy world we live in
How odd. Avdija was finally putting it all together.
@@_AVC_ DC wants Kuzma back at 3 Bagley at the 4 with Sarr at the 5. There was no place for Deni
Weird move from the Wizards. I thought Deni was developing nicely. The extra pick in 2029 makes it a bit better from a Washington POV, but still, for me this is a big win for the Blazers.
Love this pick as a Blazer’s fan! A 23 yo starting SF that can pass dribble shoot + rebound to play next to Grant. Can trade Grant and/or Simons still.
Starting: Simons Sharpe Deni Grant Ayton and Bench: Scoot Clingan Toumani. Can trade Grant or Ant
Deni Avdija is best as a point forward. he played PG at high-school. they've changed his role from SF to point forward after the TDL and his numbers went to 20ppg 6apg 8rpg at that part of the season. ending with 15 6 4 the all season. True shooting 60%.
I can't believe they sent out one of their best young players for a vet and the 14th in a weak draft. I guess they want to capture the flag next year, but... They are getting a great character guy in Brogdon, who many other teams have coveted in the last 2 years. They could flip him for a future 1st round, but I would have to think the Wiz would have gotten more for Deni.
Surprised Michael Winger did this. Brogdan will likely request a trade. This makes no sense to me. Didn't they just add ousted Pistons g.m. Troy Weaver to their front office?
Brogdon will get what the Wizards jolly well choose to do with him. He’s not Canton-bound and can’t immediately demand out like Chris Paul did. If we trade him, it will be for a good deal, most likely at the deadline.
@@_AVC_ The Wizards are at ground zero of a rebuild, we got nothing to lose.
@@baxatakbaxatak2014 I don’t know if that addressed my statement but fair enough lol
The Wizards' management publicly stated that they wanted a second lottery pick, consequently it should come as no surprise that a trade actually occurred on draft night. Simultaneously, though not publicly stated, they must have considered using this trade opportunity to dig into the minutes and shots that would normally belong to the forward position and allocate them to Billal's as well as this year's rookie draft picks future development. As a result, it is not surprising that either Kuz or Deni were the most likely to go.
I believe that shortly after management began looking into trade options, it became apparent for various reasons how much the current NBA market values Deni over Kuz, who may not have the true demand as advertised, which is why Deni ended up being the one who was eventually moved.
Okay so that’s the logic we think they are using. It’s still not good logic in my mind 😂.
@@_AVC_ Deni may have agreed with you. I recently saw a brief TV interview with him in Hebrew for Sports 5 where was quoted in Hebrew saying "He thinks he's reached the head of the hierarchy with the Wizards (team) and that his teammates and management believe in him." His agent was also quoted as saying they had no clue about the trade until 50 minutes prior to the draft.
@@israteeg752 In all honesty I think he was their like “best” player last year haha. Yeah it just seemed so out of nowhere.
Deni wanted to stay there. In Israel, sports it's a culture, not a business. Meaning he became a fan.
Presti has a lot of assistants. It doesn't mean they are going to be good GMs (Weaver was really bad in Detroit), like working for coach Pop, doesn't mean you are going to be a good coach. To my opinion, they have made a lot of mistakes, and just a little good things. They didn't find a good offer for Kuzma, so they traded Dani because they have a lot of forwards, and they wanted to let Bilal, Sarr and the others more minutes.
At least Deni got a new front office that believes in his abilities.
Oh yeah we can be happy for Deni for sure, but I still think Washington is nuts for this one haha. Just a bad business look if nothing else.
Washington it stupid
Let’s be a little more intentional with the comments please! Trying to avoid that here.
Portland fan happy to see what Avdija brings to the table, but does this trade suggest Brogdon's value was overhyped? Seems like the draft capital almost projects him as a negative asset.
I don’t think so honestly. Deni is a pretty solid young player with one of the best contracts in the NBA. I think it’s more a reflection of his value. I think y’all got a great deal!
Hey man, great analysis...
I think the blazers should think about trading more than just Grant (after the Avdija trade).
I think they should flip Grant for younger assets/picks, trade Simons (to free up minutes for Scoot at PG and Sharpe at SG), and trade Ayton/Williams to open up the clingan minutes...
What do you think are good destinations for each player I brought up?
I actually totally agree. It’s hard to do but I think that would be ideal. I honestly don’t have a great idea for all of those guys. Simons to Orlando makes too much sense to me. The other two I’m not so sure.
@@_AVC_ I love the fit of Simons in Orlando, but I don't know what they can give back (draft picks? young players that don't play PG?). I expect them to actually move someone, I think they have a bright future....
great vids man, this was the first one I watched, but now I am watching more :)
@@LiamEdelshtein Ayyye appreciate the love! Yeah I think they could put together a nice lil package.
I mean I guess I can see a little bit of it they got draft capital and probably will flip Brogdon at the deadline for more picks. They ended up getting Bub Carrington and kyshawn George so they got way too many guards. Idk what the wizards are doing.
Well Washington does not like potential they see potential and think not in my team
I just don’t understand the logic behind this. I saw someone justify it by saying Deni doesn’t fit the timeline and it’s best to maximise on his value now than later when he’s only got a year or two left. But that still doesn’t feel right to me, he’s still only 23. Moves like this really make you wonder if there was something happening with him behind the scenes? Potentially even political? Idk this is so weird.
@@deanoss777 It’s really hard to witness honestly. I have so many connections there. I just wanna see them succeed 😅.
Bring back jones
Brogdon, Jones-Poole,shamet the bob/kispert kuzma/…… sarr/bagley at this point I say take a chance on bol bol and mamba and call it a day bring in some tall players to give sarr some competition
My opinion is New Gm trying to make a name for himself with a big trade yet a very stupid one.
Yeah as you can imagine a lot of us that “make it” in the basketball world are usually pretty narcissistic. So we just want our own people around us.
First, I wanna say I’m a big fan of your channel. I love your content. I just recently came across your content a couple months ago. I have to slightly disagree with you. I think you move on from Deni The wizards need first round assets as it was demanded from ownership per report a few months ago This front office are going to bring Washington back to prominence I think the Washington wizards in the next three seasons will challenge for play in That’s how confident I am in Will Dawkins n Winger, n Travis Schlenk
Ayye I appreciate the love!
I guess I don’t understand why though 😅. Like why not just keep the young talent you have?
this trade more likely confirms that grant would go to the mavs and will accept vets from the mavs to complete their bench
I think they’re just trying to find a character and culture and Deni isn’t really a model for the market of Washington in terms of marketability and character
I don’t think that’s why they traded him 😅. Maybe a small factor in it, but I guess the new office just wants to start over.
I think this is good for Deni. DC basically wasting the guys talent if he stayed there.
Don't mind my account name I was different person back then haha
Haha I dig it! Yeah no I don’t hate it for Deni’s sake at all. Portland always worries me a bit but hey Washington isn’t doing any better right now. Hope the best for both sides!
I hope we get Cooper flagg next year hiin alex sarr snd bilal coulibaly
What about Tyus Jones? I thought they signed him last year to be their starting PG
Maybe they use 14 to snag Topic and pray Brogdon plays for the season so they have a PG to operate with Poole and Bilal and I guess they are committing to Kuzma? With this move yeah not great that’s a direction that could make some sense
Im assuming Malcolm Brogdon gets flipped but if u keep him why? Why are we trading avdija for pick 14 in this draft?
I wonder if blazers move grant. I also wonder why there trading a 2029 pick. Wouldnt it be better to keep the pick and if ur looking promising in 2028 then use 2029 in bigger move? I like adding avdija just curious why
Also nice logo change
@@_AVC_ thought was put y'all overvaluing Deni. Deni a role player not no superstar
@@theetruth8626 Not saying he was, but that doesn’t mean you need to trade someone. Just doesn’t make sense to me.
They're probably gonna trade Malcolm brodgan for more picks probably
Seriously? So much talk in Dallas about trying to get him. Would have been a nice fit there. Instead he goes from one bad franchise to another. Kind of depressing....
Yeah not a fun transition for him I’m sure 😅. I do like his fit with Scoot though.
@@_AVC_ It's starting to look bad for the Mavs upgrading at SF or PF. They desperately need scoring to take a little pressure off of Luka and cover for Kyrie if the Mavs get to the finals again. That Boston mental block isn't going away any time soon for Irving. A starting SF scoring 9ppg just ain't going to cut it.....
@@SDesWriter I don’t think it’s a mental block 😅. But yeah an upgrade is needed. It’s not easy though. Good news is, Atlanta has to be making more moves.
Give me your thoughts on this one!
you got scoot, simons, Sharpe, Ayton and there's no way avdija going to the bench right haha
@@iMacaroniCheese No yeah Deni probably starting somehow.
Feel bad for Deni he goes from one crap organization to another.
