  • Want to show up at the FCC headquarters to protest the dismantling of net neutrality? Their address is: 445 12th Street, SW Washington, DC 20554
It's going to feel so empty without net neutrality. Cenk Uygur, host of The Young Turks, breaks it down. Tell us what you think in the comment section below.
    Read more here: www.huffingtonpost.com/entry/...
"Internet luminaries, including “father of the internet” Vint Cerf and Tim Berners-Lee, inventor of the World Wide Web, have a blistering message for the Federal Communications Commission as its vote on net neutrality looms: “You don’t understand how the internet works.”
In an open letter published Monday, more than 20 industry leaders and pioneers skewered the FCC over its plan to repeal net neutrality rules, which require internet service providers (ISPs) to treat all content equally.
“It is important to understand that the FCC’s proposed Order is based on a flawed and factually inaccurate understanding of Internet technology,” the letter, addressed to lawmakers with oversight of the FCC, reads. “These flaws and inaccuracies were documented in detail in a 43-page-long joint comment signed by over 200 of the most prominent Internet pioneers and engineers and submitted to the FCC on July 17, 2017. Despite this comment, the FCC did not correct its misunderstandings.””*

Why seperate bring tents and camping gear its easier to communicate in close proximity than over a soon to be closely watched and regulated internet. Send letters through your local mail service providers it might take a few days hell have people go door to door asking people to join the fight. Stand together. If mail delivery fails deliver the mail by hand. You want this you need to be willing to get hurt, get cold, and make yourself heard but keep it peaceful for the most part throw those who try to disrupt your march through violence out of the protest and ignore what the media says about you theyll try to villafy look past your differences reach deep for that bravery refuse to budge. Id surround the FCC building and refuse to move till they pass a bill that prevents the FCC from doing this a third time.

I have every respect for anyone's belief, but I guess you do not like the 1st amendment, you know the one that gives you the right to say that Levity is "Atheist Scum". But remember that just because you have a right to say it does not make it moral or correct, so understand that I am not saying you can not say things like that, but that you SHOULDN'T say things like that, it just makes you mean and being that YOU are the one who believes in something beyond this world, you are the only one being judged, maybe you should be a little nicer.

This isn't even about crony capitalism. This is ultimately about the control of the flow of information. The FCC, an appointed, not elected government body, answerable only to the President, declared years ago that radio and TV were the only two broadcast mediums not covered by The First Amendment. To paraphrase George Carlin, repeat that bit as many times as you need to as it sounds vaguely important. Now radio and TV have pretty much joined newspapers and other print media in the graveyard of content distribution, so we are pretty much left with the Internet as our main source of news, entertainment and information. How long do you think it will be before the FCC, an appointed, not elected government body, answerable only to the President, decides that the Internet is no longer covered by The First Amendment? It sounds like a question that might just be,.vaguely important.

How about you go to the FCC on Thursday or to whatever local protest.
Also, write to your congressman, senator, the people at the FCC, the FTC and ask all of them for stronger net neutrality regulations. I know, the FTC might seems odd on that list, but it's there to protect from monopoly power so that kind of shit is also there job.
Also go on we the people, the white house petition website... Sign the petitions asking to protect net neutrality or not repeal net neutrality or fire Ajit Pai. That still create noise.
Than, Friday, start researching to write an Amicus curiae. Why? Someone is going to court over that. You think Facebook, alphabet Inc, Pandora media, and Netflix will let ISP drain just their profit?
The FCC behavior here is possibly illegal as it looks arbitrary and capricious. These are rules that lawyers like Michael Copps just defended in 2015&2016. They are laws against doing doing that if it's just arbitrary and capricious.

If this happens, the internet will never be the same. It will go in the way of TV where you have to pay for packages, and if you want to access TV show ____, you'll need to buy the specific package that includes that channel, even if you don't want all the other crap. You'll have to buy several packages to get access to the pages you want in particular, and all the pages that are in direct competition with the ISP you won't be able to access at all.

Why would they bother going above the speed limit and increase the risks of accidents? So let's all stop policing the highways and the streets because we OBVIOUSLY DO NOT need cops there. When cell phones first began its rush for the gold, the costs and the forced arbitration clauses and the length of the contracts, etc, I vowed to never buy one, because they are overpriced and it's gravy to those carriers. Just as Cable became after it had pulled and installed the cable and equipment, that kept becoming more and more reliable[you should know that electronic equipment will either fail in the beginning or become obsolete or broken much later but almost never due to usage, reliable is the keyword, and why cars are more reliable, electronics are used more] cable providers then cried, whined at least, to Congress how they had to increase rates. But just like today in buying auto insurance for cars that go depreciate, go down in value, yet rates go up, so paying more to insure against a loss in value built in, means we have a price gouging system model of business, a snake oil system fake economy, built for the skimmers and scammers, etc. Why do we need insurance companies between Drs and patients? Why do we pay a realtor closing costs in buying a house financed through a bank? Why do we need agents who sell insurance in the middle of companies that are now profit generators, has anyone yet gotten a solicitation for a credit card from your auto insurer? You're likely deep in debt to another profit generator, education loans that gov't guarantees but banks make money from(or once did)another system that used to be called a value to a community due to its services it provides aka a community bank, that isn't for service to you, but making money off you for them in gobs and gobs of fees, and useless come-ons.
NEVER forget, despite what they say, advertise or promote themselves as, THEY ARE THERE TO MAKE MONEY FOR THEM AND TO GET AS MUCH AS THEY CAN FROM YOU AND ARE NOT BENEATH LYING TO YOU, DECEIVING YOU, OR CONSIDERING ANY MORAL VALUES LINES THEY CROSS AND THEY KNOW THAT THEIR ACTIONS MAY HARM YOU. dAMN SORRY CAPS, ain't retyping sorry.
Greed isn't about the same as making an honest living and providing a service to people fairly.
