I Bought The MOST EXPENSIVE REPLICA AIR JORDAN 1 Union THIS Is What I Got...
Sneaker replicas have become a problem. Like really getting into the mainstream light and costing more than the authentic pairs at retail. The fakes are so close to the authentic that I am positive people are tricked into buys fake pairs thinking they are real. We have heard authenticators like StockX and Goat have been stung authenticating fake pairs as real, sending back real pairs as fake, and even sending back the wrong pairs to sellers who's pairs have been denied. The problem with the open market is obvious. Fake pairs Costing $210 shipped WITH StockX tags (that are fake, signed by Josh Luber the CEO). Then Seller are being shady, reselling the fake pairs as real pairs via ebay, facebook groups, sneakercon, etc, and many times people post prices that are just low enough to get you interested. I am betting some of the fakes are now excepted as real. With resale over $1500 now on the Union Air Jordan 1 Retro High, you can see why this is an issue.
Someone paying $200 for Fake Jordan 1s, selling them for $750, Profiting $500 a pair, meanwhile the buyer was duped into the sale thinking it was a steal, instead was a fake.
Lets just say you are an educated sneakerhead though, and want to buy a pair of fakes because $200 is a better deal than $1500, and you DON'T CARE that they are fake? Well think again before you buy. As I called out in this video, I have had my credit card stolen immediately after using to try and buy a fake pair of sneakers. As a result I had to shut the card down and file fraud reports. The other major risk is the chinese website sellers do not have an official site, and make YOU PAY for the Air Jordan fake sneakers before they ship them! Thats right, if you Western Union these sites, they have 100% no reason to actually send you shoes since you just gave them money without a real transaction.
Also noted, these sites get shut down by Nike / adidas all the time, when you go back to track your order and the site is shut down, you will probably be out your $200 and no product shipped. Definitely a RISKY BUSINESS.
In summary, as I have had the last 7 yrs, the SNEAKER BRANDS need to do better! They need to create an authentic experience that cannot be imitated, and can make the fans consume with confidence.

The 'fakes' are likely based off sample pairs: all sneaker brands outsource manufacturing to contractors, and with a new model they often send requests for sample pairs after providing detailed tech specs and material IDs. After QA checks and pricing banter, they award the contract to one or maybe 2 factories. But the losing factories don't always destroy the original specs. Sometimes certain managers/employees of the losing bidders just do a bit of a special run.

If they keep releasing the classic profiles like Jordan 1, Jordan 4, etc., the fakes can only get better since they are making the same ones over and over with just some minor logo, color, material, or stitching changes. You might as well just ask them to make you a custom pair.
7:11 you can see that the fake pair (left) back is more curved and the swoosh is different also. The real (right), swoosh looks a bit larger and the tip comes up closer to the laces. Union swooshes are different than even real regular AJ1’s. Chris Gibbs if Union LA, wanted to go back to the old school Jordan 1’s where the swooshes were a little larger and shaped just ever so slightly different.

It can get quite easy to spot fake pairs of AJ1s. The biggest giveaway is the wings logo, the top two eyelets, and the stitching and shape of the wings.

The nap on the suede with the fakes are more rough than the real pair. And the Nike tag on the tongue the real has a richer grey to me
Instant giveaway is the heel shape. The reps have a sloped forward heel, whereas the Unions have a straight back heel.

You didn't mention the shape, it's clearly off and more curved at the heel on the fake pair. Also the black leather is more shiny. And the most important part about checking fakes is checking the insoles!! You must take them out and compare them!! Not to mention size tag... If you're going to buy a fake pair to do a review on, at least do a thorough review.
I definitely saw the difference on the heel area too, I think thats the clearest spot based on the light grey color and also how the stitching is slightly off on the fake replicas. Also another difference is how the front tongue Nike Air tag is stitched, one looks super tight while the other well stitched and fitted. To be honest I think it will be difficult to tell them apart the first time seeing them if you don't have a replica and a legit shoe side by side to compare them.

Nike gets multiple factories to produce samples. They pick whoever can produce the shoe the best. Often times the companies that don’t get picked keep the prints, and tooling methods. It’s crazy how close them can get to perfecting an authentic pair. What fucks me over is the fact that people will sell used beat pairs of “Authentic” pairs for over 1k like the TS1’s just because they’re “Authentic”.

I've seen a documentary about these replicas. They are made in the exact same factory that make the originals, using the left over materials, thus called "Unauthorized Authentics" or UA. You cant really tell the difference. Even if you take 2 "authentic" pairs and try to do a side by side comparison, it will be impossible for it to be identical to the tee because like you said, they are hand crafted. In other words, why be a dumbass to pay retail when you can get the exact same thing for a fraction of the price.

another thing i noticed in most fake pairs: the top of the jordan logo does NOT reach the stitching. by this I mean that in the original pairs, the stitching should overlap the very top of the jordan logo. a very tiny detail that literally no one will notice when on feet, too.
