In 2024, our beloved YMCA summer camp is set to mark a momentous milestone - its 100th year of existence. For a century, this cherished place has been a sanctuary for countless young souls, offering them a haven of joy, learning, and unforgettable memories. Throughout its illustrious history, our summer camp has welcomed children from all corners of the globe, including refugees and individuals from vulnerable backgrounds. It has been a beacon of hope and a source of transformation for countless young hearts.
The hybrid phenomenon of a storm/ tropical cyclone named Daniel led to extremely heave rainfall and to subsequent floods in Central Greece. Unfortunately, our cherished campgrounds were overflooded by tons of water and mud, which left them in disarray and chaos.
The impact of this natural disaster has been profound, affecting not only the buildings and the equipment of our Camp, but also the spirit and resilience of the community it serves. Our mission has always been to provide a safe and nurturing environment for young individuals to learn, grow, and form lasting bonds. Now, more than ever, we are called upon to come together and rebuild the heart and soul of our YMCA community.
