At first, I was team Pebling... but in the end, Polin won over me. Although I really hope Nicola and Sam would have their own movie where both of them are the lead, cause they have chemistry as well

I disagree...not saying they didn't have any chemistry but Pen truly was holding out for love and Debling said he wasn't sure he had room for love. Polin all the way...
But Colin loves her and he will protect and stand up for her (part 2 ) whilst Debling was looking for a practical match he literally said it he is too busy to love her wtf
I already preferred him to Colin. I had hoped that they would change the story and she would choose Lord Debling over Colin. I did not like Colin in the book either.
In the book, Colin is fighting the urge to not ruin his friendship with Penelope but when he finds out she is Lady Whistledown, he is even more scared to lose her if she is pitted and society seems decides to punish her. He hates being angry with her but since she doesn’t listen to him in letting Cressida taking the blame of being lady Whistledown, he can’t help himself and always regrets it later cuz that side of Colin is never seen by anyone yet Penelope has to endure it 🤷♀️he later realizes he loves her so much and on their first night (before marriage that is), he confesses as much to her. It’s a friends into lovers thing, so it’s shown to be awkward and confusing 🤷♀️😅 even in the clips that I’m seeing, Colin’s body language says he is attracted to her, but as a man or maybe as her friend he doesn’t want to ruin their friendship by suggesting his falling for her in the beginning🤷♀️😂 atleast that’s what I’m telling myself since he does ask Violet “weather friendship can be the base of a relationship”
To be fair he kinda ruined at the end even before Colin got involved. Spoilers!!!!!! By saying."I love my job too much, so I don't think I can love anyone else." Or something like that. I mean is expected but that doesn't mean my girl has to settle for that.

There was no chemistry at all. Lord Debling's scenes were stale and boring. Disappointing but I'm glad Pen ended up with Colin.
