In this video we are going to show you how to install an Airlift 7500XL airbag kit on our 2018 Ram 2500 with rear coil springs. The Airlift 7500XL airbags are going to level our truck about 2” @ 65psi without a load so I think it will do great with a load on it. We purchased this kit off Amazon and all procedures are performed directly from the instructions provided by Airlift. Everyone hates on the option for factory rear air but the integration and how good they work is hands down worth every penny.
Agreed, I would like to one day put rear air on. Unfortunately time constraints and cost is a factor at the moment.
Great video. I especially loved the American Flag with the shell casings on your bench! That was really badass!! Support 2A!!
I got the braided line kit, with SS hardware. I can only squeeze about 20lbs into mine, running stock rims/ tires. They're awesome!!!
Great vid! Always wanted to know more about air bags. When it comes time to need them, I will probably go with same size kit.
Super easy install and No issues on install. I just need to hook it up to the 5th wheel now
Sold my Ford for a Ram..Can't believe the squat from my RV and the nose in the air with this truck..didn't need any helper bags or Timbrens with my Ford ...Thanks for the vid i'm gttn these on order.
Depending on how its loaded and the pin weight makes a difference, I have seen my fair share of Chevy trucks and Fords squatting from the camper or trailers.
Excellent video thx
I'm surprised the pin weight police haven't appeared....great video
I wanna see this same video but with Daystar Cradles and maybe a little more light? :) Thanks for tips and video.
question sir?, it also works in a 2022, thanks for your work
I like the way you routed the air line through the large hole in the frame, just behind the airbags. Are you concerned or did you do anything to protect the line from rubbing the area as it goes through the hole? I just received my kit, same as yours, and appreciate your install video. Thanks.
You can use a protective sheathing like this, amzn.to/3ljV1uU.
Thank for the post...
Throwing some on the wife's truck for hauling fifth wheel and hay
Anytime, thanks for the support!
Great video. I see your running aftermarket wheels. Would stock wheels with larger tires rub the brackets?
It will all depend on your wheel offset. I dont think you would have a problem. Just make sure you have the required clearance between the bag brackets and tire.
Good video bro how much psi can you put on them more then 65?
I think it can take upwards of 100psi if Im not mistaken but I normally run between 35-55 psi and works good.
4 inches or 2 inches? Great video by the way. Can you show a pic with the fifth wheel before and after please?
I said 4 in but meant 2 in reason I put the text in.
That is with no load so Id be willing to say it will get you 3-4 in with a load once you figure out your squat.
I have a 2017 Tradesmen and haul a truck camper. Swapped to Bilstein's 5100 because the stock and springs were killing me with that spring bounce, lol! The 5100 are softer than the stock so now I roll with the camper when I have a full tank of gas even with no weight in the camper. So this is the product I will go with. Do you have a code so you get credit?

Where did you put your jacks stands? I noticed you weren’t supporting it from the axle. Seems like the axle needs to go up and down.
Jack stands are on the frame and I used a jack to control the axle in order to drop it and create some clearance for installation of the bags.
Nice detailed video, have you added limit straps? The 90 connector is known for breaking if the bag is over extended, which happens pretty easy.
I have not installed limit straps. The 90 shouldn’t break since it is at a point that is hard mounted to the frame and doesn’t move. I have had zero issues so far. Thanks for the support.
How heavy is your fifth wheel? I’ve got a 42’ toy I pull with my 2500 ram and the loadlifter 5000 was plenty to level out my truck.
5000 would have been sufficient and I didnt choose the 7500 based off fifth wheel weight just my preference and availability at the time. The trailer is around 11k last time we weighed I cant remember pin weight.
Do they make the ride smoother at all, I am asking because i have a 2020 bighorn 2500 and she rides like a tank.
I dont feel any difference, however, it did level the truck back out with a load in the back so my front end wasnt so light anymore. If your looking for a better ride I’d look at your setup in terms of spring and shocks. I’ve heard airbags all around is a pretty nice ride😉
Bro said 44" to 46" "so we got about 4" of lift off it " lol
Can you give the dimensions of the upper bracket? Specifically the measurement from the bolt that connects to the existing jounce bump stop hole to edge of plate closest to the tire? I want to verify If my 12.5" tires will clear the bracket. I just ordered this kit. Thanks
From front jounce bolt to outer plate edge is 2”.
have you tow the trailer with it after the set up? if so how was it.
I'm thinking about adding it to my truck
thanks
I have towed a trailer with these and they performed flawlessly. No complaints what so ever.
@@MKSPerformanceOffroad thanks man just ordered mine
I wonder if you can fit a T for both bags and fill up through the line coming out of the T so both bags fill at the same time and that way you dont have to fill them separately
You can but the issue you may run into is when you turn and the load puts more pressure on one side it will push air to the opposite bag. You could do that if you put a check valve at each bag and plumb an exhaust to release pressure.
@@MKSPerformanceOffroad makes sense thank you
@@ezurmnd no problem, thanks for your support.
Nice install video! Would these still work if you had a 5” exhaust pipe?
I cant say for sure as we are running factory exhaust.
@@MKSPerformanceOffroad no worries just confirmed they’ll fit no problem thx!
Now that you've had it for a while did the internal bump stops make the ride more harsh?
No, I really didn’t notice the internal bump stops while traveling and the ride was actually smoother. Helps to make sure your weight is distributed correctly for pin weight as well.
@@MKSPerformanceOffroad oh nice, sounds good, I'm about to order them. Thank you.
Where are y'all mounting the compressor?
These are manual fill unless you plumb a compressor. Depending on the type and size of compressor there are several places to mount. I think air lift has pretty good mounting solution.
Will this air bags work on a 6 inch lift kit
I highly doubt it would without some type of spacer being added. You would need to check dimensions and compare.
Do u manually fill the air up?
Yes on this kit, you can plumb to an onboard air system if you have one.
Is this connected to air tank?
No, manual fill.
Will this work for a Ram with a lift?
Depends on how high of a lift but generally these bags are made to fit stock height. The issue you would run into is the bag only has so much travel on it so that would be your limiting factor
And you just feel the airlift with a air compressor?
Yes, if you dont have onboard air than you can fill the bags with any air chuck and small compressor
Can you fill these with a Dewalt 20v air compressor?
Never tried but as long as the compressor can push up to about 90 psi you should be good.
Does this work if i have a 2" lift in the rear?
Im running stock height with these bags so I would say the best answer I can give to you is found here per airlift guidance. www.airliftcompany.com/workshop/determine-correct-lift-spacer/
@@MKSPerformanceOffroad thank you sir
Always baffles me that they swapped to springs on these 2500s
Surprised at how many different suspension options there actually are between air, leaf, and springs.
The kit I bought for my 18 ram 1500 was drill in frame and bolts broke in frame
What is your question?
@@MKSPerformanceOffroad well 1 question I have do you recommend the braided lines
@@abner0404 I dont think they are necessary as long as you have the air line routed well and protected.
You leveled, or lifted
Bilstein leveling springs
Hey Sir! We sincerely look for a collaboration with you! Are you interested in trying our mud flaps for your Ram?😆
LOL. you took your rear license plate off... fear of someone stealing your airbags must be high
Plate was removed for enlarging the holes where the schrader valves come through for mounting. Appreciate your attention to detail and how observant you are. Hope the video was helpful.
@@MKSPerformanceOffroad thanks for the info...pretty smart idea
I have the 5000 Ultimate + Be careful to not overload your rig… It’s not a dually and SRW tires can only handle so much weight….
Absolutely, something I don’t cover in this video. There is alot of variables to look at besides tires but pin weight, max load rating of wheels and tires also should be taken into consideration.
No more squat -----thumbnail shows truck squatting.
The thumbnail is pre airbag install hence the caption no more squat like in the picture.
question sir?, it also works in a 2022, thanks for your work
You would need to double check with the manufacturer but Im not aware of any changes to frame or suspension setup on the 22’ trucks that would call for a different kit.
@@MKSPerformanceOffroad thanks 🙏
