This type of harrowing the field is also greatly opposed by permaculture followers. For as long as there are good microbes biomass & organisms in your soil, this kind of harrowing will only disrupt & might even kill off some beneficial bacteria already layered in your soil. In areas highly prone to flooding, this should not be done as top soil can easily be washed away. So thread carefully & take time to analyze your soil with the help of Bureau of soils. Do your own research, then decide what's good for your own type of farming.

Truly yes, that harms the microorganisms present at the soil.unlike the old fashioned clearing as long as , no burning of the grasses, bushes in the area , soil, retain its richness, when you will dig only where you will plant

Sana po pag isipan mabuti ang mono cropping sa buong Mundo. Di ba po yan ang topic ng guest ni Sir Buddy dati. Retired lecturer na may PhD about soil. Mabuhay po tayong lahat ng mapayapa.

Pag mono cropping / agriculture, mechanization talaga ang kailangan kasi we are talking of thousands of hectares farming, pero kung permaculture, usually mga small lands lang po yan, kaya tama rin naman na less disturbance sa soil

I hope farm equipments in the future will use batteries and electric motors to propel them. Diesel is expensive and detrimental to the environment while batteries can use solar panels to recharge them which is cleaner and cheaper in the long run.
