Dr. Lazarus truly cared for Murphy and looked out for him, he was in good hands, just like Lewis, she not only his doctor, that was his friend as well.
@@Mr.PR2000 "I really believe they were supposed to be the same character" Nope. It was Dr. Tyler in the original; Linda Garcia was another one in Robocop 2. Much like Lazarus, they are all different characters with the same goal.
Despite this film being a flop, Dr. Lazarus is one of the few things I liked about this movie. Like I think she carries the lead female character perfectly after the unfortunate death if Anne Lewis. she's also looking out for Murphy through out the film whether it being maintenance on Robocop or fighting along side with him.
I know I am going to get made fun of for this. 2:20 I consider this the "digital oath". With the fourth directive erased, Murphy now looks back to what OCP has taken away from him. He lost Ellen, he lost Lewis, and now he can't afford to lose Lazarus. Now, he is more determined to protect those who matter to him most.
I have a theory that this order was cancelled by Lazarus, knowing what the OCP had done to her. From previous episodes, it is clear that Murphy cannot override the integrated instructions himself, only through an external interface. (Or thousands of Volts.)
I honestly didn't mind this film and felt it was a good end to the trilogy, I was sad to see Anne Lewis die but Dr. Lazarus is what Kup was to me with Ironhide in the original transformers (I okay know that's a bit of a stretch but allow me to explain) Kup was like Ironhide because they were both older war torn soldiers willing to die for their cause so when Ironhide died Kup took his place as the grouchy war hero. Dr. Lazarus was a good female lead and even proved she was willing to kick some ass in some scenes like when she manage to get one of their guns and fight back. Like I said the second and third film weren't great as far as story but as a collection of badass robocop action scenes I loved them all and I also love how he kept getting upgrades in each film like guns and tech. Like I said it's just my opinion and your welcome to have yours.
First, a brutal murder by Boddicker's gang. Then, a complete tear-apart from Cain's gang. Then here, "a direct hit to the heart." And Robocop still walks! (and flies with his prototype jetpack)
That’s pretty amazing the way they made him look like Peter Weller. The voice is a little different and I can tell some slight differences in the face but if you didn’t know that was a different actor, you probably wouldn’t question it.
of all the actors to play RoboCop, Robert Burke did far and away the best job after Peter Weller. He clearly studied Peter's performance and tried to emulate it, unlike say Page Fletcher who was apparently proud that he had never even seen the movie.
She probably had the equipment there, to do the job. In robocop 2 one of the techs said it couldn't be done with this equipment, when they were checking, this could have been just a small diagnostic room, for checking and doing some minor repairs. Anything more like programming changes etc, like what happened to him in Robcop 2 he may have had to go to specialized lab etc.
Although this movie had a bit of a few issues it had some good parts, I like the fact they kept the original and Lewis and Dr Lazarus was pretty awesome to go but it’s just a shame they didn’t us Peter Weller. But I did enjoy this one, until the ninja robot stand up, I mean what a silly idea they were
An awesome arquetipic-religiuos comparison between Dra. Lazarus like the fixing biodeconstruction of christianity- robocop role- and the biblical reference.
Gordon Freeman She wasn’t and I mean exactly that. There is *NO* link. Otherwise, the character name would’ve been the same across all 3 films and likely the same actress would have played her. Stop imagining things that aren’t there. There wasn’t even a female technician wearing glasses in “RoboCop 2”.
@Amni Ony “They didn’t have different looks”. Only a blind man would say that. “The first character had no name”, exactly, she was a minor player. 🙄 Go and ask Fred Dekker if you really think it’s the same woman. Guarantee you he says no.
I'm a massive Robocop fan, slightly disappointed by the shiny, Hollywood-ized Robocop 2 and expecting perhaps a return to the satirical tone of the 1st one, and was brutally disappointed. R3 was a TV movie, and nothing more. The jetpack was the moment that Robocop jumped the shark. And then I hoped for a return to form with the Joel Kinnaman movie, and was disappointed yet again. They had the opportunity to update the classic Robo with all the CGI and technology available, and just plonked a guy in a suit. Awful!
Understandable. Still, this had its good moments, like when he finally lost Directive 4. And I’ll admit the jet pack was a little gimmicky, but him showing up to turn the tide against OCP was worth it for me.
