Come along with me as I prepare for a small business market at my university! In this video, I show you how and what I prepare for this expo starting on Saturday all the way up to my market on Tuesday. I finish up plushies, show you my entire stock of what I am bringing, make signs, pack everything up, show you my set up, and tell you the results of how much I sold and how much money I made. Any items shown that have a pattern are written on screen of where you can find them!

i thought that too, but you might be surprised! either way, don’t undersell your products because you think people will think it’s too expensive, you deserve a fair amount for the work you put in!

Trust me. Don’t underprice your stuff. If someone wants something bad enough, they will get it regardless. I think a lot of people who crochet underprice themselves, but if everyone actually charged what their time is worth, then buyers wouldn’t understand that the little higher prices are the norm.

Lovely work. I think your bags would sell if you stuffed them with tissue paper and displayed them on your table. Also, do the same with the bucket hats. Stuff them with paper and display on table. I think they will sell. Especially that gorgeous granny square bag!! Glad it was a successful market.
Or get a maniquine head & display them! You can get stirophom ones really cheap!!

I would've added some crinkle paper to the bottom of the crate so I could still put little plushies there. That's just me though still so so cute I loved how you worked around you issue. I luved the shelves with the little ones.

Can I give you a little finishing tip? When adding edging where you need to crochet into the ends of rows, always do the first time around with the same yarn as the garment. It's very hard to get those stitches perfectly consistent, but nobody can tell that if it blends into the existing color. Then for your contrasting color will be worked into actual stitches so it will look much more professional.

I’ve learned that selling at colleges is the way to go. I’m treasurer for the frat I’m in and for fundraising I decided to crochet some stuff after one of the other eboard members made some plushies that sold really well. They all went within an hour and we had like 20 plushies total 😂

Your colors and patterns are so pretty I just think the tablecloth distracts from them!! Maybe a soft white (not white white white, not ivory, not beige, but you knows soft white) so the focus is on your things more!!
And in your wire crate/shelve stand.. maybe insert a neutral color background for all sides.. even a piece of card stock so you can’t see the wall and floor behind your cute plushies!
And it would be super cute if you were able to hang a tapestry on that wall behind you. A neutral, soft color one but pretty and eye catching. If those walls are fabric I think you can use “memo pins”.. I use to use them to hang things in my cubicle. I think they’re made for cubicle fabric.
And maybe hang your wearable items in rainbow order or length order.. just to make it eye catching.
Just some thoughts on inexpensive changes… as I used to help my mom setup booths and in a way you’re competing visually with other spaces you want to stand out as much as possible without spending too much more &&… use the tapestry at home when done!

This is a great video but it's also very interesting to hear the info you gathered. As someone who is okay at crochet and may go toa pop up in the future it's just cool to hear you say how the plushies sold out faster while only one water bottle holder sold out. Thanks for the great video!

Hey! I've been trying out crocheting plushies (i normally make crochet clothes) just wondering if you have any tips for a beginner in plushie making. Btw love all the stuff you made its gorgeous ❤
i would say learning how to crochet in the round, how to increase, and invisible decrease are the main things! and then just getting the hang of working with fuzzy yarn because it can definitely be challenging seeing your stitches, so making sure to count your stitches as you go!

Plus they have collapsing ones like that smaller ones and then facebook marketplace for the big black ones I think they come from vendors or something for groceries 😊

i use sweet snuggles lite yarn with a clover amour 5mm hook! it definitely just takes a lot of practice to crochet faster, just keep with it :)

yeah freehanded! i just did two rectangular panels, sew them together & added straps

i used a ton of scraps so they’re all different brands, but they’re all acrylic worsted weight yarn!
What hook size did you use for your eye sweater?
i think it was either an 8 or 9mm

depends on the project! for water bottle holders and some tops, i use cotton. for hats and majority of tops and sweaters i usually use acrylic

I just found your yt channel so you may have answered this question before, however, I'm wondering if you've ever gotten any requests to not sell the things you make from using other people's patterns from yt or even etsy?? i follow tutorials on yt all the time and have made some adjustments to the patterns, but not always. i'm working on a collection of things to sell on my website, however, so far, i haven't actually created any patterns myself and I'm a bit worried about selling products using patterns other people created. lol
most patterns will say on them or in the descriptions whether you can sell products using the pattern! i’d say majority are totally fine with it, especially if you credit them online :)

Beginner crocheting here and making a little business already.It’s hard to sell because people doesn’t know the price of handmade products giving them the fair price is already pricey for them🫢
maaan, this is just inspiring me to make a mini market one day. i wouldn't even know what i would sell lol. also how do you price your items and where do you get the little charms on the beanies?? 🫢 they're all so adorably cool
i try to set a minimum wage for myself & do my prices per hour of labor. but i know a lot of people that just charge for cost of materials + a set price for an item. and the charms are from amazon!
