The Guardiands call the shots, they just don't know it. Its actually pretty depressing to realize how timid, scared and insecure Ainz really is on the inside, the dude's having a quiet mental breakdown. But he is dedicated to his children's happiness, but their happiness comes from serving who they think he is, but since he isn't actually this genius named Ainz, it results in an ever escalating cycle. Also Ainz will exterminate entire populations just to reduce his own workload, which is pretty fucked up. By comparison, Rimuru is actually "fairly" reasonable and less unstable.

Would Ainz really open with grasp heart on a slime though? Like if Rimuru was in his human form I could see the confusion but the opening made it seem like Ainz met him before Rimuru gaining said human form
I think he would start with Nuclear Blast for the crushing damage that is the weakness of slimes in Overlord.
The reason why Ainz started with Grasp Heart in Overlord still stands. Even if the spell is resisted, he gets a short period of time from the stun to consider his next move.
Flee, time magic, different insta death spell, elemental magic or buffing himself and fighting physically.
since bukuchagama is a slime as well i assume that ainz already has experience in fighting other slimes
What I want to know is why Ainz and Rimuru are fighting on episode 1? Ainz douse not get stronger the later in the series it gets. However Remuru does quite a lot. This would really only be a fair fight if you're comparing Ainz against Remurus demon Lord form. As Ainz has has the advantage of knowing his character's abilities better than Remuru does when he first incarnates....

Ainz's PVP experience leads me to think he would not use Grasp heart on a slime. His first attack would most likely be one known to counter slime class in Igrassil like Bukubuku and Solution. Then test out Rimuru's immunities and offense capabilities. He might resort to talking in order to stall, attempt to manipulate mentally, or gather information and analyze his opponent. If Rimuru has acquired the ability to speak the fight would end there as they are more likely than not to find common ground. If the fight proceeds beyond this point, Bone daddy is likely to win as Rimuru did not have a large enough bag of tricks besides his immunities and Predator skill on arrival for Great sage to make use of and no prior combat or PVP experience. It is likely that Ainz would trap and capture Rimuru due to his collector's curiosity instead of killing him due to this slime being unique and having properties he would want to study and acquire for Nazarick.

You know the only way it would work in Aniz favor is if Aniz and Rimuru meet within one year rimuru being reincarnated aside from that by the time rimuru Tempest has been alive and his new slime body for 3 years Aniz would have no chance. In my opinion, Ainz vs Rimuru's fight is much harder to imagine. For example, Ainz has level 60 or lower attack immunity, but in the Rimuru universe there are no levels, so it would be difficult to say that attacks are higher level or lower, just as how Ainz owns 700+ spell of which he may very well have specialized spells against Slime-type monsters. Apart from all this, as Ainz has the WI, that Rimuru can't resist because it doesn't possess another WI or wild magic. Finally, Ainz with his ability "The Goal Of All Live Is Death" he can kill everything, even things that are not alive, like the air and the earth, but I don´t know if Rimuru has options to revive himself. The thing with all of this is that Ainz is more than a threat that mosy people think, but seeing of how OP it seems Rimuru becomes after becoming a demon lord that i don´t know if Ainz can resist until the time of his skill pass XD

Rimuru takes it by the time he’s a somewhat experienced demon lord, and maybe even a newly awakened rimuru could take it, depending on how hard ainz goes. Volume 15 and beyond rimuru just blinks ainz out of existence though, thats the point in the story where rimuru REALLY become OP. You forget that Rimuru posseses the ability to use thought acceleration which allows his thought process to be 100 million times faster than normal. I‘m a year late but just wanted to point out that the creators of Tensura and Overlord did a collaboration for the mobile game Slime Isekai Memories. In the resulting crossover it was shown that even just season-2-Rimuru was not affected by Ainz’s time stop.

I am a huge fan of both series (finished slime novels, and ongoing obv for overlord) I think its not a fair fight for ainz if it's the end of story Rimuru, and of its at the start of the story Rimuru will be at a major disadvantage because of just general power gap (Rimuru only has basic slime abilities and predator(witch is only as powerful as the things he eats) ) it's better to have ainz fight him either right after or before becoming a demon lord as thats when Rimuru become op enough to probably be called a lv 100 character in Overlord standards. After that he gains too many ridiculous abilities to just outlast and outthink ainz (with the great sage and what not become op itself) also we all know ainz does not specialize in 1v1 fights in the first bought anyway since he usually does a mock battle with the individual first retreats and use the info he gained and fed false info so he can come back and wipe the floor.
Despite how much I love Ainz I think Rumuru wins in the end just from magical resistances and regeneration abilities not including the counter to time magic (since after demon lord he should be able to (of memory is correct) speed up his thinking and action times to at least counter it in a minor way) instant kills won't work, it's just not reasonable it's like throwing goku at with ultra at goku who just got fused with vegeta
Ainz is an undead which means he doesn't lives like the demons or humans

If ainz were to be killed he can use an op spell like fallen down or some other op spells

@@Indian_Tovarisch I would agree to at some point but if we are talking about just a 1v1 not including subordinates ainz loses to full power Rimuru because Rimuru becomes God, if you take rimuru after demon lord awakening he is as strong if not slightly stronger then ainz in regards to raw power and ability/ damage nullifying abilities (as Rimuru at that point is close to unkillable against things that can't destroy the soul itself and I don't believe that all life's goal is death works on a characters soul) i love ainz and think he could easily win against alot of people in other stories but Rimuru is Designed to become so strong so fast after DL awake that it's laughable even to compare growth of characters like goku, it's closer to the strength of the gods in other shows and that's the point ainz isn't unbeatable he is just very strong and decently smart (and very lucky).
As a side note he can't barrow spells from the other 40 players he can at most barrow most of their equipment, I don't believe all the players gave there gear I think it was only those that left for good. Also we don't know how many more of the sticks ainz has to swap out gear instantly as we saw in the show, it's a cash shop item thus unable to aquire more (he probably has quite a few extra for emergency but he would need the hind sight to know what gear he would need to designate the items for use during battle) thus I don't think you can reasonably say he has access to all 40 other players at the time of a fight starting unless you allowed both sides to size each other up and before hand and prepare.

After Rimuru becomes a true dragon and gains void god azathoth and ciel, he’s basically the top dog of his entire verse for the most part. Also in the end of volume 19 Rimuru was able to move in completely stopped time goes on to gain access to all ultimate skills from the angelic skill series and we can’t even imagine what he’ll become afterwards because we need volume 20. But anyways, by the Rimuru becomes a deacon lord he can be comparable to ainz (and with Raphael he’s basically guaranteed to win, not to mention the other power ups he gets later on in the series where he’ll physically shit on most characters.

To answer your question the spell all life's goal is death does not affect the soul otherwise Ainz would not have been able to resurrect his subordinate.
I thought about Ainz and Rimuru meeting and even started a fanfiction where they do. I had Ainz going to conquer the lizardmen and then had Treyni warn Rimuru of a great threat to the forest and request his help against the undead army invading the forest. Rimuru and his group go to help Zaryusu and the lizardmen and arrive in time to help destroy the elder lich, Ainz sights Rimuru and the Kijin and decides they may have a player among them so he then sends Aura to meet with them but orders her not to connect herself with the undead army led by Cocytus who again prepares another large army to attack. Aura gets valuable information for Ainz but also decides that Rimuru is quite likable and wants Ranga for her collection of pets.
I am of the opinion that Ainz would win any confrontation unless we're talking later stage Rimuru when he has god-like powers then yeah okay Ainz would lose. But if my above scenario played out Ainz would have massive advantage because he can watch and learn and move when he feels ready while Rimuru is very much in the dark about the 'Great One', Aura would basically be a spy and provide tons of valuable information to Ainz and potentially be a way to make contact and negotiate with eachother. Ainz also has all the power and resources of Nazarick which I'm surprised wasn't even mentioned and anyone with Demiurge on their side would have a masterful strategy planned.
I think the situation was that they were dropped in Rimuru's world rather than the NW of Overlord, given that they were dropped in a cave instead of open fields with Nazarick as a backdrop

honestly, doing the fight where they just dropped into the cave together is weird to me. rimuru is at a massive disadvantage here. as stated, ainz is a game character come to life so he has i decent idea what he is capable of. But rimuru is a man that came to life as a slime. Not sure how long he was in that cave, but it's not like he figured stuff out quickly, hell i don't think he could have sensed too much at first even it's only after he got certain skills he was even able to "see", correct me if i'm wrong it's been a while since i read the manga. To add to that, ainz without a doubt has experience fighting higher tier slimes. but this is just me nitpicking, in the end i would say ainz would win most of the time at least with pre demonlord rimuru, not sure how strong the slime got after becoming a demon lord

@@neverendingplaya who knows? My main point is rimuru still needs to learn about what he can do in that scenario. Whats more, the more relevant question is if rimuru can catch ainz in it. It's often depicted as a highly Telegraph skill so ainz may see it a mile away and teleport out of it before it catches him. I doubt the skill will be a factor in most fights, at least not until rimuru gets more battle experience.
I think 20/80 in favor of rimuru post harvest festival. Even if he dies to the goal of all life is death he will come back because of infinite regeneration and Rimuru also has Wisdom king Raphael, Covent King Uriel, and Gluttony King Beelzebub. By becoming a Demon lord Rimuru became immune to practically only non spirit magic attacks because of Uriel, can think a million times faster than a person and can predict attacks because of Raphael, and Beelzebub makes it possible for Rimuru to throw anything thrown him right back.
@@gizmo9344 Eeeeh. I do agree that Rimaru when he got jacked would win. That explanation is faulty. We have actually seen ains fight people with high amounts of regeneration. Instant death would pretty much negate it as seen with the Orcs. The thing with instant death is that it is instantaneous and permanent in Ainz's case. For Speed, Ainz would just slow down time. I highly doubt that would halt Rimaru completely however slow him down to a reasonable speed that Ainz may or may not be able to handle. Not to mention most of Ainz's negative spells....would probably heal him. Negative energy and all that unless he uses something that isn't negative energy. If he uses Fallen Down. Idk how that would apply with Gluttony as it would pretty much be a large scale attack that would obliterate a large area. Would Gluttony funnel it in or would it act sorta as a Sheild. Idk. Though good comment 😁
@@mrstarnation4171 Infinite regeneration can regenerate from death, so it would work because resurrection items can revive you after the goal of all life is death. I completely agree that normal regeneration is useless against ainz, but infinite regeneration regenerates from the soul. It should work as long as the soul isn't destroyed, which the goal of all life doesn't destroy because people can be revived depending on what instant death spell ainz uses, I think true death that ainz used true death on Gazaff, which requires high level resurrection magic to overcome it, as the base spell for the goal of all life is death would greatly delay the regeneration from death process.
FINALLY AFTER 2 MONTHS A VIDEO PROMISED WOOOOO
In terms of battle, Ainz would win against early stage Rimuru but lose against Demon lord rimuru stages since the only way to destroy him at that point is almost impossible.
Id say, Ainz does have a chance though, but it wont be counted as a battle since its just outright unfair. As far as I know, Ainz can use the Wish Upon A star and wish for Rimurus non-existance or destroy the multiverse, basically snap someone out of existance thanos style. From that, Ainz only has a low chance (10-30%) of victory.
Since the only way to negate the WUAS ring is to have a world item.

If you think about it, Rimuru doesnt really have anything to negate the ring since it does exceed out of the Multiverse's grasp.

Rimuru can also in many aspects copy/assimilate most skills outside of very specific ones that hasn't come up in anime yet. um just a big thing to remember is that in the slime universe there are beings that can come back from being killed because they can exist as a spiritual life forms also given how instantaneous regeneration works TGOALID might not work at all on people who can do both like team immortal who show up after the first war.
all in all though they wouldnt fight if they met each other but the subordinates are likely to clash with there being a hilariously large difference in power between the two as rimurus forces by even his demon lord form are going to beat pretty much any of the guardians, let alone his later forms.
Pre demon lord promotion, unlikely, but post I think the Oni all beat the guardians, the only guaranteed win being Shion with her basically unlimited HP

hakurou is pretty much every samurai legend made real, i mean before his upgrades he beat a guy who had perfect battlefield vision and the ability to perceive time 100s of times faster then normal, that guy didnt even see the attack that killed him.
souei makes shadow clones for all intensive purposes and his wires can cut through just about anything and are strong enough actually keep milim in place for a few seconds, that might not sound like much but milim could waltz into the tomb and basically turn it inside out with little effort.
shuna is a magic prodigy and can actually counter and redirect magic thats greater then what she can produce.
geld, has the rot ability that can actually damage the soul itself.
diablo casually deflected a blast that was nuclear in nature, now while it might not actually be comparable to a real nuke (like ainz's nuclear blast) it is an anti army magic and diablo did that BEFORE he was named.
just those six alone are going to be enough to take on anything the tomb has beside rubeto and even then id give them even odds on a few of them beating her.

right after arriving, rimuru was completely blind, incapable of speech, had only a very reasonable hunch he was a slime (which he can only actually confirm to be the case after getting the ability to see) and the only sensory inputs he could perceive were when he ate stuff and when in direct contact with something

One thing that I have to say about this matchup is that you're basically make it to Batman it was stated during his back with shalltear that no matter how good the player is they cannot negate or cover all of their weaknesses so Vines is wearing to fire resistant gear more vulnerable to Holy magic and black dance if he's wearing his holy magic resistant gear those robes he was wearing when he fought shout hear that he's more vulnerable to Fire tablet and so forth I'm not sure how the ring Works whether if he were to die while wearing it he's see a continued option so that he can resurrect himself or not but yeah giving I'm readily available equipment for everything would not specifically work. Also remember even with the perfect Warrior spell did not have any melee training when he first arrived. Initially he wasn't even certain that he could use the powers of the staff or whether or not he could actually summon underlings

That was at the end of the web novel (which the author admits he rushed to get to writing the light novel), and although he’s still op as balls in the light novel and as of volume 16 could prolly easily destroy ainz, I feel like the light novel does a better job at powerscaling. As far as the plot armor goes, I’m not disagreeing with you, but this series was a power fantasy from the start, as compared to overlord which is kind of a subversion of the power fantasy genre. They’re both really enjoyable series tho, its just tensei slime is more of a casual series that sometimes subverts your expectations while overlord does it all the way through

And as far as I remember, The Goal of All Life is Death is absolute.

If caught by suprise, it might work on demon lord rimuru but I doubt it could put down rimuru after volume 15, much less a post volume 16 rimuru (as thats when he gets the absolutely most broken skill of all time).

I have 2 ideas for this type of video
1) Nazzaric vs the alliance from Danmachi: Sword Oratoria vol 12. Ottar and Asterius from Danmachi are OP warriors that can probably give the LV100 a run for their money and then there is Aiz who litterally has unlimited potential power when fighting monsters. So there are alread 3 powerhouses along with a dozen or so other powerful figures in the mix too. It definitely could go either way.
2) What if Aiz was Isekaied into NGNL with his absolute genius that no mere human can comprehend! Not even the old dues could match his might!
For the first idea, there is also Bell, Welf, and Haruhime who are capable of turning the tide of battle. If Bell is given 4 minutes he can unleash an extremely powerful attack, Welf if given preparation time can make Crozzo swords for te fightx and he has his own S4 spoiler thing, then there is Haruhime who can increase the Levels of key players, so instead of the 3 powerhouses I said before you can potentially get 12 powerhouses at Haruhimes magic's full potential (but if we're limiting to the power and capabilities she has at SO12, she would only be able to LV Up 5 ppl making 8 total powerhouses at any given time).
Freya can also potentially create a situation similar to the Shalltear incident. It just depends on how resistant Nazarik NPCs are to Divine Charm. Freya's Divine Charm would at least be equivalent to a Super Tier Charm spell, possibly World Item level.

There's a huge problem with this fight.
Firstly, Ainz and Rimuru's world's structures are DIFFERENT. Ainz is stuck with levels, limitations, cooldowns on attacks, EXP points, and more. While Rimure doesn't have to worry about any of those so nothing is holding him back from becoming the world's strongest. It also sucks that Ainz's build isn't for PvP and matter of fact, he isn't even the strongest in his universe or the game. I would say World Enemy/ies have a better chance of fighting Rimuru than Ainz.
Secondly, following with the first. What if Ainz and the gang were transferred to Rimuru's world? No levels, no EXP points, no insane cooldown. He would easily become one of the strongest characters, maybe even near Goku's level with the world items and insane planning. If Rimuru was built in Ainz's world, he would have a ton of limitations and he would have a disadvantaged state due to having a class system in Ainz's world. Rimuru would have a difficult time fighting Ainz if that was the case.
Lastly, I would like to say that Rimure isn't omnipotent nor nigh-omnipotent since I view omnipotent different than most people. The only true omnipotent are the authors and if a character isn't based/or is the author than they aren't omnipotent, but that's how *I* view omnipotent.

Ln Rimuru is just a joke; pretty much omnipotent in later parts. And even when he becomes a demon lord he just becomes impossible to die.
Ainz might not start with grasp heart because... well... Rimuru is a slime... they don't have hearts. He might just think It's a weak slime, and use say, chain lightning (as he did against his first human encounter). But Rimuru is basically immune to everything on day 1, that won't work. So, Ainz would hammer him with every elemental attack he has (and Rimuru would hardly do anything since he would be blind at the start, so he wouldn't have time to comprehend his surroundings or skills at all, let alone sage), leading to Ainz just using TGOALID, finishing the blind, resilient little blob. Oh, and predator probably wouldn't be very effective against Ainz, since there is a chance of failure against sentient, non-willing targets, so there would be a delay, in which Ainz could just teleport away.
That's considering that they both are automatically aggressive as soon as they see each other. Because why would Ainz care about a random slime in a cave? He might test his spells on it, and find it a good punching bag, then kill it by accident. Knowing Ainz' luck, that's entirely possible.
At least that's how I imagine it.

Well i am mostly a slime fanboy but i do admit that in terms of writing, Ainz is a better character overall since Overlord has no powercreep.
