We have a Ram 5500 and travel the country and I think this would be a great addition for my phone and action camera. Thanks for the info. Will Ram Mounts stuff work with this system as well or are the balls a different size?

Unfortunately the RAM and AMPS balls are different sizes, the RAM balls are 1” (25.4mm) and the AMPS balls are just slightly smaller at 20mm. I believe there is an adapter available, I can’t seem to remember where I saw it.

How much does the iPad bounce around while you’re driving?

I just spent the last few days exploring some logging roads in north eastern Ontario. I had zero movement on either of the mounts! The iPad didn’t even need to readjusted or do any bouncing at all. There was a little bit of shaking while driving on some corrugated roads, but that’s to be expected.
