I respect NRN. However, for commuting it takes any where between 10 hrs to 15 hrs per week
Another point, people who are in IT industry, to be available for overlap meeting to connect global colleagues, usually they spend 10 hrs, not 8 hrs per day( known, but not recognised fact)
Hence, extra 10 hours per week
Total = 40 ( official working hours) + 15 ( commuting) + 10 ( global overlap meetings)= 65 hrs/week already 😮
13 hrs /day + 8 hrs /day ( sleep for better health ) + 3 hrs/day ( for family, to refresh, to have food)= 24 hrs of the day
Am I exaggerating here
Where is the time to do exercise, teach and spend with kids, take care of elders at home🤔

Even if anyone stay next to office. Still why they will work 70 hrs per week…unless we are share holder of company and if the company stock grows the more we work then it makes sense
If they get hourly rates for work like done abroad then we can talk. I ain't even thinking about working 40 hours to make a proper livelihood

I firmly believe that a thriving civilization can flourish across decades and even centuries. By dedicating the next decade to building robust infrastructures in education, healthcare, and, most importantly, instilling the right attitudes and mindsets in the present generation, we lay the foundation for sustained prosperity over an extended period.

First of all IT companies are not working for India...so if you work 70 hours or 7000 hours...it does not matter much to the country... offcourse... Western countries are growing because of IT companies in India

Hum jahan pe bhi kaam kara rahe hai agar usase desh ka bhala hone wala(like ISRO, DRDO, GOVERNMENT OFFICER, any company because our nation is developing or startups which are helping nation to grow) hai toh waha pe muze 70 hours kaam karane me koi problem nahi hai. At the same time it should give pay me reasonable salary which my work deserves.

Government agar bol de minimum wages salary badhna chahiye toh company kahegi aachha Thik hai sochenge but agar government bolegi ki working hours badhne chahiye toh (government yaha pe bhale hi suggest kar Rahi ho) yaha company bolegi government ka decision hai aap logo ko toh 70 hours week ke kaam karne hi honge . Aur management ka Wohi flexi hours hi rahega. BTW main aapko kuch v nahi bol raha na hi Narayan Murti sir ko , but aise hi national television par aake baar baar ye statement Dena ki 70 -80 ghante kaam karo . Ye sahi nahi hai.

Sharing my perspective, Hope this helps.
1) The basics of everything is deciding what type of person you are, for example hardworking, Founder, Smart, Lazy Smart, Creative etc.
2) Once you know who you are then decide what makes you happy in personal example: Talking with friends, Spending time with family etc
3) What makes you happy in a professional life example, Working to build experience, working to learn, networking, A project or a certain type of work or sector you have sustainable passion for.
4) Once you know the above 3 answers, set your priority according and manage your time accordingly.
Every year I do this exercise to keep my goals & happiness in check to stay focused. 😊

Good video to introduce all round perspectives.
UN is tired of continuously advocating for the benefits of work life balance on physical health, mental well-being, good relationships, better societal responsibilities et al. All these are backed by scientific research and even RCTs in most of the cases. Now these start up founders are coming to advocate for 70 hrs long work hrs per week without thinking about the implications of it on the people of the larger sections of the society who are either poor or working class. It is not only glorification of overwork but also opens a pandora's box for companies for over exploitation in the name of so-called "greater good", but the truth is these people will and always will benefit from this work culture which is not only oppressive but against the basic human rights. One will hardly find evidence of these people advocating for greater pay parity or higher minimum wage or creation of a conducive environment for people from all the genders and races that could work together without feeling dejected.
I don't know why but I feel very confident, seeing his videos😊

My father Worked & now too working 100 hours per week.
I have felt his absence many times.
Agar aapke father bina kisi compensation ke apne employer ke liye 100 ghante kaam karte hain to maaf kijiye aapke father nihayat hi chhotiya kisam ke insaan hain. Aapko unki sangti jaldi chhod deni chahiye. Agar woh apne liye kaam kar rahe hain to theek hai

Ankur, very nice video, gave a different perspective, although have some points to make
1. NRN worked 70 hours+ and made a ton of money as a founder but also changed the lives of thousand of people at Infosys while also changing the lives of lakhs of investors…. So ntg wrong with 70 hours of work
2. Do you want your kids to emulate the east going life and assume that life is easy while it is not, the value of work and the ethics of hard work is super important for children to understand
3. Your point about children might neglect family in future if they see you work 70 hours is not completely true, they may actually emulate the work ethic and actually look up to you for teaching them that
4. What value would you gain if you spend a lot of time with family without adequate resources, so spending time with family is a problem which comes after you satisfy the needs, so before that 70 hours or metaphorically long hard work is absolutely necessary

I felt that 70 perfect might not be a very good option for majority of the people but the some people some percent people of this country who are ready to work by will they should do it definitely there is nothing wrong in saying that we have to for 70 hours per week it's just a perspective and perspective can be different of each person it can be different for from the perspective of student it can be different from the perspective of an employee, it can be different in perspective of businessman, it can be different in perspective of labour. All that matters is the quality work you do.
